Hi Luna, so happy to see you back!! I remember you asked for a written picturing at least a year back...I'm going to try to get to that this week (the reason it is taking so long is because school keeps me busy, but now that I have a week off...)

Happy Easter!!!

Thanks guys! @Hex,in response to your earlier question, Nightly is-Back,I'm here to make sure the new Aes don't set anything on fire.

...Yep!as I was going to SAY,Nightly is back! Also there are definitely not new Aes that I will totally not reveal dramatically at a later date.I mean.I'm not saying I'M an Ae,I'm not sure if I have any CB terms for me.Not sure a distinguished Cloak such as myself need ANY labels..........

....

Oh,you mean we're not supposed to reveal the Aes yet

YES

OK!

In response to @Lyric,yes I would love that!

It's finished at last!! (actually I basically finished it yesterday but wasn't able to post it) I'm sorry it took so long; I had writer's block, and then too-busy-block, so to speak :(

I tried to do a Halloween/galactic feel, to harmonize with the witchy vibes you requested. Hope you enjoy!

Oh, and as compensation for the very long wait (about a year and five months...), I'm attaching a poem I wrote at the end.

Written Picturing:

It’s Hallowe’en, the night when they say ghosts drift restlessly through the secret pathways of the forests in the mountains, their eyes wide as the emptiness within them, the emptiness we call death, and the night where, in the valley below, a masquerade of living souls walk through the dark streets, their buckets filled with chocolates and sugars, like the soft heaviness of newly gathered fruit. Two different worlds, side by side.

A ring of pine trees rises from behind the suburb, on a little hill. And suddenly, one of the trees turns its head, sharply, like an owl, and it isn’t a tree at all, but a witch, her cloak wrapped around her so that she is almost part of the sky and the pines. They look curiously, vigilantly, at the people below (they’ve been sent to keep an eye on them). Her eyes are the blue of dusk reflected in the surface of a frosted lake, and glow softly, as if etched with moonlight and nebulas. Likewise their hair is the color of bioluminescent waves, pulled by gravity and the wind. She holds a broomstick, which is partly for cleaning and partly for flying, and wears a tall, black, satin hat that is bent ever so slightly, with a crescent and stars embroidered in the right corner in silver, spiderweb seams.

They lean against the tree behind them to glance out at the houses below.

“Luna, can we go back home?” whispers her cloak, Nightly. “We don’t need to watch for trouble anymore.”

“Soon,” they say, as their eyes glow brighter. “I just want to try something.”

She picks up one of the pinecones on the ground, and flies across the street, high up enough in the air that the trick-or-treaters don’t notice, before letting it drop.

It rolls on the ground, taps the side of someone’s shoe. “Odd,” that someone says, picking it up. “There aren’t any pine trees here.”

And they look up at the sky, but the witch (and their cloak) are already gone. Only the sound of their laughter remains.

Poem:

Lilypad

The heart floats alone on a saltlake,

like a lilypad tied to the ground,

before toads will leap over it, under it,

on it,

before, indeed, it falls and dies.

The heart is a kite in a glass blue sky,

It soars with the wind, sinks with the wind,

and cannot move itself alone.
