LeafpoolParticipantOh. Okay.
Thank you for this, Admins, and I really do appreciate all the time and effort you put into making this decision.
I support diversity.
*Silently turns away for a moment and wipes eyes*
Does this mean goodbye, then, Cho? And Daisy? Will you really leave?
-
UNSUSPCTINGSTRYTLLR ParticipantThis may be an obvious question, but, what are the rules for creating a character?
You just describe the character.

CamelotThank you Admins for sorting this out. We are so lucky to have admins like you!
I would just like to say that my AE's and I will not be participating in the "same gender" crush thing; but we will not judge anyone for doing that either.
Thanks again for coming to a reasonable and fair conclusion.

The Prism SkyThank you. I am somewhat disappointed in the outcome but not in the CB. No not at all. Its in America and how far we've come from our forefathers. *sigh*
But I will respect you decision and I think we all should. Even if we don't agree with it. We should still stand up for what we believe in. But I will respect diversity in all its forms and beauties.
Cho, Daisy, can I bring up a proposition? Maybe you can leave the rest of the chatterbox but stay behind on BaB? Maybe even this Month but just, I dunno make a thread or something that you can work on together. A single write or something. You don't even have to reply to anything we say, just knowing that you're still here is enough. And I know you're probably gonna say I can still talk to you on nano but my account got deleted and I can't get it back in the site refreshes and all my stuff is gone for good. Not mentioning a bunch of CBers can't do nano.
So there. Please think about it. Talk it over but I'm not gonna watch another piece of CB be torn apart without me trying to stop it.
-
Shoshannah LilyParticipantMy thoughts exactly, Joan. I disagree with same-gender romance but agree with the admins' conclusion.
-
Poetic PandaParticipantHi Admins, I know this has been said so many times, but I fully agree with everyone who has said this. You all are underappreciated. You are our guardian angels, in the best of ways, ensuring that everyone gets the best experience in the CB. I really, really appreciate that, and that's one of the reasons I do my best to stay on the CB, even though I'm on the brink of the intended age limit. You don't find such a controlled, screened, beautifully caged environment on many other websites such as this. So thank you. Honestly, honestly, thank you.
In the words of Joan, "Thanks again for coming to a reasonable and fair conclusion." (Joan, I think you summed it up personally)

The Errant VentureThanks Admin. My AEs are going into stasis, and will likely never return again to the CB. I might use Ms. Elton in a story of my own, but they are staying off of AE threads. I'm possibly leaving the CB. Cho and Daisy, I'm sad you're leaving, but I'm so glad I've been friends with you. I respect your deciscion Admins, but I'm proud of my beliefs, and I'm willing to stand up for them, and no matter what anyone says, that won't change.
-
StarbringerParticipantThank you for taking the time to make a decision. I will not say anything about my views, but please know that I respect your dedication to fairness.
Thank you, Starbringer.

ClaawsParticipantThankyou Admins! <3 I'm sooooo happy you chose to suport gender diversity, and suport the equality of everyone!!!!! 😀 I'm really sorry about the mean comments, I can get a bit defensive at times…
Bye Cho and Daisy and Coconut! We'll miss you so <3….And I hope you realize you just can't survive without us and come back! We'll be awaiting for your return…. But for now *hugs* come back soon!

St.OwlParticipantRecarnated
EverywhereA point I've been seeing often against same-gender romance on the CB is that this is a "kid-friendly zone." Children can read about Chrysanthemum the Mouse's mother and father, but not her two fathers or mothers? Why not? LGBTQA+ people have been around since the beginning of time and they'll be here until the sun blows up and kills us all. If your religion says that you can't be any of these things, then don't be.
Cho and the others who have been threatening to leave, and have left, this isn't a positive thing. I understand your religion and I can't blame you for that. And maybe you can't avoid the threads that will inevitably pop up.
I am hurt.
I am mad.
And I respect everyone.
I am sorry if this was too harsh.
St.Owl, I did not get the impression that Cho was trying to force her beliefs on anyone else. She just said she was leaving and why.
Admin
-
EchoParticipantI agree with you St.Owl. I get that it is a controversial issue for some people.
But it shouldn't be.
It
1. Isn't going away.
2. Is totally fine and normal.
Sorry if that is a harsh.
-
BibliophileParticipantI agree that LGBTQ+ relationships have been around since the beginning of time, and it's natural, and what makes earth diverse and a special place to be. That being said, I don't think Cho is trying to force her views on anyone, like Admin said. Also, is there a thread that this stemmed from? Has it been deleted?
Also, thank you Admins! You are truly wonderful human beings.
-
Cho ChangParticipantThank you, Biblio.
-
BibliophileParticipantYou're welcome. PLEASE STAY! Just kidding, I know you feel that you have to leave. *hugs*

-
AParticipant@St Owl,
Glad you included the A! Most people wouldn't, it just makes me happy to see. This is completely unrelated. Don't mind me!
-
-
BluebirdParticipantAdmins, I can't thank you enough. I know it must've been hard for you to come to a decision.
-
Darth Daisy ParticipantGoodbye, CBers. Cricket has changed my life. I wish I didn't feel I was forced out. Goodbye.
~~
I stand on the edge of a cliff.
Behind me, I see the village I come from.
Before me, there is nothing.
I see the village catch fire; it started with a single spark.
I run back and try to help it.
My single bucket of water does no good;
The wind overpowers me and I am forced to allow it.
Backing away, the only way I can protect myself is to go.
There is no helping my old village now; I can't save it.
I take a deep breath… step forward, off the cliff…
And fly away to look for another place I belong.
-
The RiddlerParticipant1) You are not forced out.
2) Please don't act like the CB is going up in flames and dying just because of this. Some of us think this is a good thing. Even if you don't, the CB is just going to go along like normal. It will not be destroyed or anything like that.
3) I will miss you.
-
Just sayingParticipant1) I can understand Cho feeling like she's being forced out because she said she would leave before the decision was made if it was made this way. It was still made this way. I might feel forced out if a decision was made that would cut off all possibility of doing anything on the chatterbox so other people could have some more possibilities in making fake charries. Pretty much, she, (a real person) had to leave so other people could make more kinds of fake people.
2) If she thinks of the chatterbox as a place to talk about thing that's free of inappropriate things, and she think of the Issue as inappropriate, then yes, a huge part of the chatterbox is dying.
3) I agree.
Also, someone said that the Issue isn't inappropriate because it's real and happens in the real world. Lots of things are real but the admins would never allow us to talk about them.

Cho ChangParticipantcrossing fingersWait!! Admins, in a RP, if you are the GM could you say: No same sex romances, as long as you were respectful of others views? That's not breaking the above rules, is it. I read it through, and I think I would be allowed, if I was careful to state it politely.
Am I correct?
It is not our intent to provide separate threads for people of different perspectives. It is our hope that CBers will respect each others' views, whether or not they agree with them, and do nothing that is "in your face" and purposely challenging or disruptive. We will do our best to maintain the proper tone and characters appropriate for the role play, within our fundamental policies.
Admin
-
Impunity JaneParticipantThank you for running the CB.
IJ, diverse characters are allowed on all threads. We won't allow threads that specify or are restrictive.
Admin
-
Cho ChangParticipantSo I can't?
That is correct.
Admin
-
Cho ChangParticipantBut then isn't that discrimintory against my views? Transgender and same sex pro folks could still join, just not have those charries.
It would be discriminatory of us to allow threads to be restricted on the basis of race, religion, or sexual orientation. As the Supreme Court ruled when considering school segregation in Brown v. Board of Education, separate is inherently unequal. Stories on the CB mostly involve fantasy and adventure, not romance. Our policies are that the CB is not the forum for discussion of gender issues or portrayals of serious romantic situations.Admin
