Sprocket ParticipantThis was so stupid. How could I have let Mina convince me to let her do this? I was gonna kill her.
A messenger comes into my room.
"We have another report form Mina. Please report to Conference Room 3."
I follow him down the hall and into a room, where a small radio is on the table.
The radio crackles to life. "Sprocket, this is Mina. Can you hear me?"
I nod, then realize that she can't see me. "Yes I can. What in the name of Kyngdom is going on?"
"shadow transferred her powers to a girl named Brynn. We are trying to get her to safety."
Dang it. Why did they have to do this? "Why did shadow do that? Never mind. We will talk about it later. What do you think the best course of action is? I think that the scientists would get suspicious if we made more bird people. Do you think I should come into that mess?"
"I don't really know. I think that we should just wait, or we could register other mutants. They wouldn't have to be bird people."
"To dangerous. Besides, I don't to put any of our forces in danger."
There was a pause. "Maybe you need to infiltrate the base. I am sure you could enter as a scientist, then control things form the inside. Take some people with you, and then try and figure out how to free these people."
That's interesting. Of course, it would propose a lot of unforseen dangers.
"We would have to modify me. Everyone knows what I look like, as well as all of the Counselers. I don't want to take any serums, but it seems like our only option. I will ask the scientists to arrange it."
"Alright. See you on the other side."

"Listen," I say to the girl- Brynn, "You need to come with us. We'll explain everything in time, but right now we just need to get you to safety."

MinaParticipantWhile Shadow finishes talking to Brynn I finish talking to Sprocket. I sign off and turn back to look at Shadow, kneeling down to calm the girl. The girl, Brynn, looks so scared. How could SOCS experiment on a tiny girl like this?
Suddenly, two girls about 10 years old swoop down and land in front of us.
"Brynn!" they both shout, clasping her hands.
Then the entire forest is filled with questions.
"What happened?" "Why did you run?" "What did Shadow do?" "Do you have powers?" "SOCS is coming after you!"
"WHAT?" Shadow exclaims. She turns to me. "We need to get out of here fast. Abort the mission. Tell Sprocket that she needs to break through the base and pick us up. We can't sneak around anymore. This little girl will be dead."
Brynn has her head down.
I look back at Shadow. "Maybe we should consider our-"
"No," Shadow interrupts. "Any more waiting and we'll all be killed."
I realize she's crying now.
I nod. "Okay. I'll tell Sprocket."
I radio in and in a few seconds Sprocket picks up.
"I'm in the middle of a meeting with a scientist, but yeah?"
"Listen," I hiss. "Abort everything. You need to come pick us up now."
Sprocket realizes the seriousness in my voice. "I'll see what I can do. Be there soon."
The transmission is cut off and I turn to Shadow and sigh.
"They're coming."

escapingI motion for Brynn (Who has probably never flown in her life) to jump on my back, and she does. Then Mina and I look at each other and take off, soaring straight up. We fly high enough that we reach the enclosure's domed ceiling.
"Do you see them?" I ask Mina
"No-wait, yes! Over there!" She says, ponting at a section of the forest. It's very close to the edge of the enclosure, and I can see Sprocket standing next to a large truck, waving at us. We swoop down, and I feel Brynn grasping at my clothes, trying to stay on. Soon, I feel my feet touch the ground, and Brynn slides off my back. Mina's not far behind.
"Thank goodness you're okay!" says Sprocket, hugging me and Mina. Then she turns to Brynn.
"So you're the reason we came out here?"
"Yes. Are you really the Resistance?" she asks in awe
"You better believe it!" says Sprocket, "Now, put these on," She says, handing us each a set of new clothes, "You're going to have to change if you want to blend in,"
I'm given a pair of jeans, a t-shirt advertising some band called 'The Tuck-and-Roll Trio" and a dark sweatshirt.
"No shoes?" I inquire
"Sorry," shrugs Sprocket, "We're on a budget."

BrynnParticipantThe girl Sprocket gives me a black shirt and a red skirt with black leggings. I'm not used to it, because I usually just wear my brown dress. But I get changed into it anyway. Shadow, Mina, and Sprocket look like really good friends, and although we're all being pursued they have time to laugh and catch up with each other.
"So you're Brynn, right?" the girl Sprocket asks.
I wake up from my thoughts and nod.
"She's…?" Sprocket asks, tailing off and making gestures at Shadow.
"Yup. New Angel of Death," Shadow says.
Wait, what?! Angel of what?!
"I don't understand," I say.
"Shadow, really?!" Mina exclaims. "Way to break it gently."
While they all argue, I walk off to the side of the forest where there are many flowers. I begin to pick some when I hear a snarl behind me. A fox is hidden in the bush and launches for a bird.
"No!" I yell.
The fox yelps and leaps back, running away. But the bird lies there, dad.
I rush over and pick it up, realizing its a cardinal.
Stupid fox.
But the bird starts to stir and gets up and flies away.
I gaze in shock as it flutters through the air and disappears in the branches of a nearby tree.
I whip around and Shadow stands there, staring at me.
"Good job. Now you've discovered it."

Alexandria ParticipantThey got us. Headmistress got both myself and Dee.
It was all a flash. The helicopter came and picked me up, and Dee was already on it. But they weren't friendly, because then they put a knife to my throats and said they would show it to Shadow. They then threw Dee and I in one cell
So here we are.
"Alexandria, are we friends?" Dee asks.
I consider it. Friends. "Yeah. Looks like we're stuck together a lot too, so might as well."
We both laugh.
"Good," she sighs. "No one likes me anyway."
"That's not true-"
Suddenly the door to the dungeon slams open and three guards stream in.
We both jump back surprised.
"Aw, scared little puppies," a guard mocks. They all laugh.
I push Dee behind me.
"Leave us alone," I spit.
"Of course, because we're so afraid of you," a guard scowls.
Dee steps out from the side. "You are. You are afraid of her."
The guard nervously laughs. "What are you taking about, girl?"
"You're afraid of her," Dee repeats. She turns to the two others. "You're lonely and you're mad."
Right as one of them aims their gun I leap for the cell door and pull the nose of the uh through the bat so the guards face slams into the door.
He yelps and I grit my teeth. "Aim that somewhere else or I'll be aiming for you."
I let go and he falls back while the other guards help him up.
"WHY YOU-"
The door opens again, interrupting the guard, and in walks Headmistress.
"Alexandria, dear, how lovely to see you," she says with a fake honey-sweet smile. "I see you've met Dee Lark, daughter of-"
"Lieutenant Lark, yes," I interrupt.
She inhales sharply but clears her throats and smiles. She then shifts her snake's gaze to Dee. "You could help us with your little emotion reading, you know."
Dee shakes her head. "No. No, it isn't right."
"Leave her alone, snake," I spit.
She gives me a smile. "We have other use for you. A new serum needs to be tested. It would give the human advanced abilities, invisibility, and other things. You'd be the perfect yet, because there's only one."
"No!" I shout. "I won't be made into a little weapon like you've always wanted!"
"It's too late, dear," she says as more guards walk in and take me out of the cell. Dee screams and I struggle against their grasp.
Headmistress waves her hand, signaling for them to carry on. "I already have."

MinaParticipantEveryone- after we get back to base I am leaving for a while. I am going to take one last permenant potion (there's an antidote) that will change me to human. I am going back to Catastrophe's army. But not in the way you think- I'm going in to spy. I'll be Gabria Aster, and hopefully I'll move my way up in the ranks of his army- because more information will be gained. I'll try to report back through transitions information gained .
Wish me luck. I never liked him.
-
Sprocket ParticipantOnce everyone is situated I turn to Mina and shadow.
"I entered through a small hole I blew in the outer covering. Alarms have already been sounded, so it would be wise not to go out that way. Instead I have found an underground pipe system that funnels the nearby river into here. I think that we can get through one of the entrances, then make our way through the system and outside. There are some automatons for a distraction," I motion towards the truck bed, "but with luck we shouldn't have to use them."
They all nod.
"Is your arm really metal?" Brynn says timidly.
"Yup. Mostly. It's kinda cumlinative."
Motioning for them to follow, I start to run into the forest. We dodge between trees, shadow and Mina avoiding flying because of fear of detection. Finally we hear a stream, and I veer towards the sound. A blue ribbon threading through the forest appears, and I come to the edge.
Switching my arm to radar, I scan the stream. Finally it beeps and without hesitation I walk to the center of the current. Mina and shadow follow, Mina carrying Brynn.
"You are gonna have to get wet. Sorry, but it's the only way out."
shadow takes out a dagger hidden in her clothes and hacks at a porthole in the streambed. It finally opens and I hand around aquifiers. We pop them into our mouths, and Mina dissapears into the hole.
shadow grabs my arm. "Is there any way that we could come back to save these people? There are some that I don't want to die." She blushes.
I nod. "We will try."
And with that we descend into the pipes.

Nebula ParticipantTrillian and ValayaTrillian-
i follow quietly behind sprocket down into the sewers. The water was mostly clean but it was deep. Ughhh… of all of the times to have metal wings. Suddenly I hear a splashing behind me.
pressing my commlink, in hipster to Sprocket, "someone is following us, let me check it out. I'll be right back."
"got it" she muttered back and I turned around.
Valaya-
I splash noisily through the sewers. I had decided to follow the resistance members, it's not like they could be worse than the mutant zoo. I hadn't seen Ava since we started following Brynn. I hoped she was safe. I stumble around a bend in the pipes and run smack into someone. Staggering back I look up to see a girl five or six years older than me. She had a mud splattered red cloak and metal dragon wings clipped to her back.
"Why are you following us?" She growled menacingly.
i gulped nervously and stuttered something that sounded like "s-shadow say… the r-resistance… help…?
She sighed and offered me a disgruntled smile. "Ok, follow me"
we turned and headed off down the tunnel.

Mina doesn't look like she wants to talk, and Sprocket and Trillian are having their own conversation, so I walk next to Brynn while she bombards me with questions.
"Who are you?"
"I am shadow, also known as shadow of everywhere, and before you came, I was the Angel of Death. Now I'm just a resistance member, a birb-girl, and someone who really loves horses."
"What did you do to me?" she asks, and this time I can see fear in her eyes.
"I transferred my powers- and most likely even some of my spirit- to you. This means you can now probably bring people back from the dead, as long as they've died recently, and you might have even taken some of my healing powers. I think I still have most of those, though." I say, looking at a wound in my arm. I put my hands over it, and feel the blood seep back inside, "Nope, still got those. Oh, and you might have a strange craving for chocolate chip cannolis."

AvaParticipant(I'm pretty sure I was with Valaya)
The girl Trillian excepts us and Valaya and I exchange a glance before following her through the sewers.
The little girl Brynn is tiny so Mina has to carry her on her back. Shadow follows behind Mina and Sprocket is in the front. Although it's hard to escape through sewers, it may be the only chance we've got, so I'm not complaining.
-
HarborParticipantI head to the entrance of the Resistance base where a couple of walking cats greet me.
"Your highness," one says, while they both bow.
I wave my hands at them. "Don't worry, it's not nessacary. Where are the rest of you?"
The cats straighten. "They went on a mission," one of them says. "But we still have expected you, and the Resistance would like to thank you and your kingdom for your support."
I laugh. "There's really no need to be so formal."
The cat nods. "Of course. We have been waiting for the rest of them to get back if you want to join us?"
I smile and nod. "Alright."
-
Dee LarkParticipantI sit against the cell wall, looking at the door. They took Alexandria to who knows where, and I was all alone. Again.
I missed her. She was the only kinda-sorta friend I had. No kids back at home wanted to play with me. I was to weird, and everyone was afraid of my dad because of his posistion. That's why my only friend was Dad. But now he was gone too.
Why doesn't anyone leave us alone? The Resistance locks us up, and SOCS does the same thing. I just wished this war would end.
Taking a deep breath, I look around the room. There had to be some way out. I just wished Alexandria was here. I hoped she was OK.
-
Sprocket Participant"We've pick up a new person. They want to come out with us." Trillians voice crackles over my radio. Muttering under my breath, I turn around and look at the tunnel. Slowly Trillian comes into view, followed by a small girl with wings.
"We have to hurry. I'm sure alarms have been sounded by now."
We continue on for several yards when my base radio comes to life.
"The emotions reader, prisoner 7, has escaped," the voice says.
"Shoot," I mutter. "She could have been useful."
I tell the news to the others and they groan.
"There's nothing we can do about it know," shadow sighs. "We just have to get out of here."
We start to walk, and finally we see a stream of water flowing from a grid on the ceiling. One by one we hoist ourselves up, until we are standing in the middle of a stream of water. Making our way to the shore, we trudge through the ice cold water. Finally we reach the bank and walk over to where a truck is waiting with a driver inside. Then we hop in and head towards the base.
