ChinchillaParticipantWait, are the pawns advancing by the chessboard? Like, they're acting like pawns and roooks and whatnot? Are there bishops?
Ooooooooor….. were they just…. advancing…? Jest wondering.
-
The WriterParticipantEons
They are just advancing…
As for the pieces. There will be one bishop. I think it would be difficult for 5 people to take on 16 robots

Rogue WildlingParticipantHyra~
The black chess pieces advance into position on the chessboard ground. The ground quakes and cracks in circles around our feet. We are slid onto the board. I'm in the queen's position, Stillo into a knight's, and Damian into a bishop's. White chess pieces spring out of another door previously unseen and come to our side. The White King laughs, but the Black King snarls. His gears groan as he points to a pawn and moves it two spaces forward.
"Pawn right three! Advance two spaces!" I call out. A pawn, specifically the third one from the right, slides forward. Stillo looks at me.
"I thought you ssssaid you've never encountered anything like thisss before!"
"No, I said this haden't happened before. I've encountered this type of room, but previously it's been a lot worse." Damian smiles weakly.
"That's encouraging!" He adds. Stillo and I both cock an eyebrow at him. "Whaaat?"
"As I was about to say, in the past it's also been different. The Black King has always been really rusty and prone to glitches, usually making him play a really bad move. Somebody must have cleaned him up…"

???
The clockwork pieces are based off of chess. We aren't playing a life size version.
Also if anything. Our pieces are black. The Clockwork King (The boss we are fighting) is white….
The thing is, the clockwork king was never used in a while because a party of at least three haven't arrived for about a century….
But maybe we can work this in….
Just need to figure out how….

Rogue WildlingParticipantWell I thought I'd make this a little bit more interesting instead of yet another boring attack.
And please stop correcting everything I do. It makes me doubtful of whether I actually should post on this or just let it die.

Apology for RogueParticipantEons
No, no, no! That's not what I mean, I just thought there was just some confusion. I understand now that was intentional.
It's an interesting idea indeed. It just kinda threw me off. As I said. I'll try to continue it. It just wasn't something I thought of.
-
Rogue WildlingParticipantOh, okay. 🙂 So it was a misunderstanding about a possible misunderstanding. XP Apology accepted. I'll try to be more understanding in the future.

ChinchillaParticipantOkay dokay! Glad to see that was just a small misunderstanding.
Damian~
The small army advanced slowly. We could easily skip around them, slow as they are… Their gears were rusty, and at every jerky step, red-coloured dust floated down from their metal bodies like dried blood. The 'king' himself was also rather rusty, with the air of ill-looked after tool, now being called to a duty it was not up to perform. Damian felt, for a moment, a brief flash of pity for him. And then reason snapped back into place. "Why's it a king? Aren't they, like, the most useless and incompetent piece on the board or something?" Hyra said quietly, eyes scanning the rather pathetically aproaching troops.
Damian grinned. "Most people at the top aren't the sharpest gears in the box, yes. But aside from that, actually, all the pieces on the board have equal potential too-"
"It'sss not the TIME for witty quipsss, Damian, focuss on the tasssk at hand!" Stillo hissed impatiently, tail whipping around his ankles in a rythim of unease. "Ah, yes, well let's see….." Hyra rolled her eyes andquickly took charge of the situation.
~~~~~~
OKAY time to go now, YES, Rogue, your thing of the chess thing happening is happening (I 'spose) but I really didn't have enough time to write all of that, so sorry! Also apologies to both of you if I didn't represent your characters well. I'm rather tired right now, so if I offend anybody in any way whatsoever, please accept my sincerest apologies and whatnot. So boi!
ChinchillaParticipant~~~Damian
"All up for skipping around those troops and avoiding confrontation, everyone?" Damian said quietly.
Stillo shrugged. "I feel like we're going to have to face thessse thingss ssooner or later… that's the Tower for you…. But I suposse it wouldn't hurt to try…."
~~~~~~
Because….. why not??
Now which door do we choose?

Rogue WildlingParticipantHyra~
Damian steps forward and Stillo slithers to the side, hissing pleasurably.
"Stillo, I'm glad you like a good fight! You do like a good fight, right?" I wrap my fingers tightly around the hilt of my sword. I can hear something. Something underneath the grating of old gears and the clank of iron on stone. Something low, something dry, something alive. Stillo and Damian don't seem to notice it.
"Yep! It'ssss refreshing, don't you think?" Stillo smiles broadly, but his brow soon furrows and his smile becomes a frown. "Wait. Why do you ask? You said these guys are weak-" A spearhead nearly slits Stillo's throat. The sound I heard becomes a low, chittering rattle, and three more disembodied weapon peices take down the most important chess peices. Out of the darkness of the room beyond, six reptilian eyes, glowing with brutish and animalistic life-light, open slowly. The rattle grows louder and faster, and less of a rattle, more like the trembling rub of metal against metal… Wait. I know that sound.
"Guys, don't. Move. An INCH. On my cue, scream as loud as you possibly can." Stillo starts to protest about the potential alert our screams would be to other beasts, but I hush him. I know we'll be fine if we scream. Sound only can be heard in one dungeon at a time here. We'll be safe, we'll be safe…
Right?
~
I was thinking they would be safe from other enemies coming, except it wouldn't affect the beast.
-
ChinchillaParticipantI'm a tad confused. So, we WERE going to scoot around the pathetically excroaching army, but then Hyra was like "No, guy, ready for a good fight? 'CAUSE THIS GOES WAY DEEPER THAN RUSTY CHESS PIECES." And then….. something shot some kind of barb/arrow at the army….. and also almost hit Stillo. Then Hyra realizes/knows that there's a type of monster in this place that is metal or something, and noise will somehow hurt it.
Am I correct? It just wasn't extremely clear.
