Sure, Jithkeeper!

Before I know it, the water is getting darker by the second and Vicky is tugging on my arm.

”Polis, it’s getting dark. We should go,” she says softly.

”Awww,” I grumble, but I get up and follow her back to camp.

After an unappealing dinner of white stuff, Vicky’s mom herds us off to bed, insisting that we need our sleep for our busy day tomorrow. But I can’t sleep. Scales, I’m so excited! I wonder what the other tribes and the serpents will be like!

After a long, sleepless night, the water lightens again and it’s time to go.

This post is a bit short, but I wanted to hurry the story along. 

Helloooooooooo?

ROGUE!! WHERE ARE YOU?!

My idea is to have everyone called to one place buy their chieftans and after introductions they set off.

Kaifu~

I swim around Odash and demonstrate a new move that I picked up by watching the landwellers. Swimming quicklty I spiral down to the depths, then I give a mighty push up and launch myself out of the water, flipping once, twice, thrice, in the sun before splashing back into the water and spinning around Odash. He opens his mouth to say something but a merfolk comes behind him and states something that has him turn around.

"Odash of the Kholet and Kaifu of the Kexlae, you have been summoned to the Cavern to advance on your mission."

Odash nods at the messenger and we swim to the Cavern, but before we enter pulls me gently to the side and states in a reassuring voice "You'll do fine," I look at him worridly and he continues "besides, I'll be with you if things go badly." 

I nod, greateful as I step into that crowded room and take a seat at one of the chairs labled Kexlae.

Rilaf~

Clutching my spear of iron, I enter the cavern where we are to receive General Instructions. It is known as the Chamber of the Five, because it is the only place where all the tribe members can meet in peace. It is not used nearly enough, I think.

I seat myself in a chair prepared for me, looking at the others' faces, illuminated by the dim light coming from the white-stuff lamps.

Different types of whitestuff serve as different things, though all are edible. They are all kind of sweet though some are more sour. Some types glow and are used as lamps, some are clothing (unfortuneatly whitestuff tends to be slightly transparent at times, but the ocean ones are used to this), some are woven into baskets, some have a light green juice and are used as pens, some are parchment.

I squeezed Polis's hand, reciting me and Ashva's plan again and again in my head. 

"Isn't this awesome, Vicky?" Polis screeched happily, "We're gonna go to the serpents, and ask them to not kill us, and we're going to be heroes!"

"Yep, can't wait," I force a smile, deciding not to mention the crucial part that she missed: The serpent's answer. Whatever. If me and Ashva's plan worked out, we wouldn't have to do any of that. 

Suddenly, mom came in.

"Polis, Vicky," she nodded grimly, "It's time."

Polis jumped up and swam out the door, to the assigned meeting place, no doubt.  I got up from my chair, and went over to mom. She gave me a look that explained all she wanted to say but couldn't: how she would miss me, how she wasn't sure if I would come back alive, how sorry she was for how she had acted in the past, and everything else. I simply smiled slightly and gave her a hug.

"Don't worry mom," I comforted her, "I'll make you proud."

With that, I swam out the door.

So Spiffy, what I was thinking for Vicky and Ashva's plan, if that's still a thing, is that Vicky, being one of the oldest, would lead the group to "The Serpents Lair", but actually to her little hideout, and show them the land-dwellers world. Is that fair? 

Serpent~

Bonegum, again. I can't remember the last time I had calamari, or even an isopod. This bonegum I found on a rock, near the surface. I'm waiting for the others I saw in my premonition. No wonder they're coming all the way out here, this bonegum is stringy, and very bitter. The bonegum down deeper is tender and definitely sweeter than this. I debate going back down and getting a few bags of it, trying to remember if there were bags on the waist of the me that I saw in my premonition. There were. I guess I have time to go back down.

I have no idea what I'm doing. 

Ashva~
I swish into the chamber and sit down, shivering in the cold water. I look around. Next to me is a brown-skinned, attractive girl  with a spear in her hand, and across from her is a younger girl with gold-pink skin and black hair. She looks excited.

Next to this girl is a boy with yellow eyes that gleam at me through the shadowy water. I don’t really like him; he makes me uneasy. Near him is a tall, intimidating boy. Now him I know  – he is Odash, the heir to the throne of Kolet. I’ve heard various things about him, like how he’s friends with someone from a different tribe. This is unusual for royalty, and I regard him uneasily. Through the shadows I can just see a girl with black hair and violet scales, probably another member of Kolet. And in the corner is someone I can barely see, with black scales.

On my side of the table is Ren, a fellow Taxadian. I don’t know her that well – I pretty much stick with my friends and she sticks with hers. She’s nice enough, I guess. I’d better get used to her.

And finally, there is Vicky. I like Vicky, and I suppose we’ll be friends on this journey, especially since we share the same views. She smiles at me and at her cousin Polis, the girl with pink-gold skin.
