JIBBERS JUST SAID A BAD WORD
or a fish depending on how you look at it *shrug*

the-antiquarian-ParticipantOh boy, here we go.
– bad grammar/misspellings
– text abbreviations
– meaningless busy work
– Land of Stories (sorry, but no. it sounds like it was written by an eleven year old.)
– generic fantasy books with mary sue heroines :/
– people who always take the leadership role in group project and makes working together unbearably stressful
– braggarts
– shallow, materialistic people
– when your book's corners (especially paperbacks) lift up slightly even when you shut the book
-
Rora@the antiquarianParticipantI disagree with the "bad grammar/misspellings" because it's hint that AI didn't write it. I like to use text abbreviations sometimes, but sometimes there are months were I promise myself I will USE CORRECT GRAMMAR AND SPELLING!!! And then one week later it's back to "lol". Honestly, I've never really used the abbreviation gtg.
-
the-antiquarian@RoraParticipantHey Rora!
I understand why you disagree, haha, actually. It only started to bug me until lately when I recieve messages like "How r u". C'mon, it's two more letters! You can type two more letters! Anyway, I use "lol" a lot too, but that's mostly it. I mean, it sounds pretty robotic when you say "Oh that's so funny, haha." I see where you're coming from though. 🙂

Earth's orbit– The previously mentioned bad spelling/grammar. (But only if its obvious and consistent. Everyone messes up sometimes, but if they can help it and they just don't… ugh.)
– Random online strangers who correct other people's bad spelling and grammar. We find it even more annoying than the bad spelling.
– AAHHHH FAKE POCKETS! And fake drawers. Although sometimes the fake drawers can't be helped, like if theres a sink there so there's space for the drawer or something like that, but it would look really weird just to have a blank spot and then real drawers below that. Sometimes they are a nessecary evil.
– Homophobia/transphobia, racism, other prejudice.

NowhereHere are all my school-related ones:
people talking during class
teachers lecturing the whole class because some people were talking
-
CelesteOfTheGoldMoonParticipant-loud chewing noises
-people loudly talking when I'm trying to focus on something
-the boys at my school who seemingly can't get through a day without making a misogynistic or otherwise offensive comment
-pages loading slowly
-people saying they have good taste in music. i believe that music is subjective and "good taste" in it depends on the person.
-
Chaser & JayParticipant17.83 eons
Earth's orbitYes! I know about those people (both the boys with the offensive comments and the good taste in music comments)
Saying someone else has good taste in music is alright–although a little annoying because people should be always perfectly accurate and say "I think you have good taste in music," because your opinion of other peoples' opinions is still an opinion.
Also, about those boys: at my school I think a better description would quite literally be 10 minutes. I am not exaggerating. They make so many "gay" jokes, and only people who are actually queer should be allowed to make those jokes, and then if you confront them about it they just make more of the same jokes.

Earth's orbitSome pet peeves:
– People who don't respond to emails/texts (specifically emails – in our experience, most people don't like writing emails because nobody is ever quite sure if you should format it like a formal letter or just a little more informal, like a text to somebody you don't know. Because of that, people don't like writing emails. So it is really annoying when you go to all that effort and the person just doesn't respond. Reply to your emails, peeps!).
– Writing emails – see above.
– People who clip their nails in public, or chew their nails and then leave lil nail bits lying around.
– People who look over your shoulder while you're reading a book or drawing (more on that later, see below) or on your phone, especially when they are total strangers and/or are being really obvious.
– People who creepily stare at you while you draw (and aren't your friends).
– When people microwave fish/broccolie/other things that get stinky after being leftovers.
– People who get overly upset about spoilers (especially when there is a spoiler warning). I mean, I know it's annoying (especially when somebody spoils a major thing or the entire plot), but it doesn't stop you from enjoying the book/movie/other.
– People who spoil the entire plot when you all you did was ask what the book/movie/other was about.
– When you know exactly what the shade you want is but you JUST CAN"T FIND IT on the lil color wheel.
– When you are typing in all caps and you accidentally replace the ' symbol with the " symbol.
~Chaser & Jay
PS Admins, sorry for length. I just happened to think of a lot of pet peeves today. And now you get to read all of those and realize that those are all things that have annoyed you forever and you just haven't realized it and now you realize it and now it bothers you more.
PPS Something makes me think that this is gonna be one of those threads like the Random Thoughts thread that just stays at the top of the page forever.

Earth's orbitAlright, I knnooowww I/we just posted, but I thought of a few more that I have to write down or I'll forget. It's short this time, I promise:
– When people pronounce/spell the word "poinsettia" as "pointsettia." Any other spelling error in it is just another spelling error, mistakes happen sometimes, but just not that.
– When there's a series that has really thick books and way too many – lots of books in a series is great, and so is thick books, but put them together and it feels like the author is overstaying their welcome (ahem, KOTLC)
– Unattended dog poop (when consistently don't pick up the dog's poo.)
– People who abruptly stop in the middle of a sidewalk/hallway/other walking space for any reason.

~Echo Hallowswift~ParticipantHi! Totally random, but I have a question. Are the two of you two people sharing a CB name, or is it one person with two personalities?
I know, kind of a dumb question. But I used to go under a different name where I was quite like you two/just you.

Earth's orbitWe'll never tell. We resolved on that long ago.
But we are interested in knowing about past identities of yours… a lot to ask when we won't tell you about us, we know. But something makes us think you'll never tell, anyways.
Also, Jay would like to say he loves your name.
