*"Do we have everything?" Callum asks for the thirtieth time. I've always known he was a worrier, but I really can't seem why he's so worried right this minute. If Chai were coming, I would also be concerned that she'd forgotten whatever she'd been put in charge of remembering, and Peri can be a little forgetful, but Cal and me are good enough at remembering small details I don't see what the big fuss is about.*
"*Yes,*" I sigh. "*Cooler, check. Extra sweater, check. Purse, check. Blanket, check. Wanderer -*" – I pause as Wanderer hoots "<izofx>" to remind us of her presence – "*Check. What are you so worried about?*" I look over at my brother, whose eyes immediately go to the ground. He pushes his glasses up and turns pink. "I- I don't know, I was just double checking."*
*"Boys," says Peri, who's been pulling a red wagon that holds our stuff in front of us this whole time. "He's thinking about a boy."*
*So that's what it is! Callum's trying to distract himself from being worried about Ronin by being worried about something else. "*Just confess to him already,*" I sigh, pulling my hair back into a ponytail. "*You like him so much, it's a little sad.*"
*Cal doesn't have anything to say to that, it seems, save for a little sigh. He occupies himself with cleaning his already-spotless glasses.*
*Chatterbox City is very beautiful, and not too busy this morning. We walk along the sidewalk and eventually arrive at Inkwell Park, where the picnic is. Peri leads us towards a hill. "You guys are going to have to help me get this wagon up without falling backwards." I nod, and help keep the wagon from sliding back down the hill. Cal makes sure Wanderer, who has a habit of getting in the way, stays distracted.*
*At last, we make it to the top of the hill, where we lay our picnic blanket. "*So,*" I say. "*Where's everyone else?*"
"We're a little early," says Peri. "But they should be here soon."
