There is place where the okapis roam
It is the place that they call home
With striped bodies and a long tongue
Taking care of there young
If everyone steps in to help fight
Then we can help end their plight
Is it okay that I used a specific animal? Or should I change it to be a broader range of animals?

Here's my poetry entry:
Nature’s Beauty
A wonderfully scenic world
All nature’s beauty unfurled
Green foliage and lovely trees
Nothing as enchanting as these
A herd of elk and deer graze
Through the many summer days
Gazelles and caribou roam about
None can you do without
Yet hidden while the animals drink
A silvery-gray wolf starts to slink
Stealthily scanning the herds of prey
For one to be their meal today
The wolf finds a target deer
Knowing it still cannot hear
As the predator inches near
Then pounces, suddenly appeared
Truly, nature’s beauty
Absolutely does its duty
To put those who saw
In a completely wondrous awe

The gazelles that leap
Over the grass as the sun shines on
In admiration
Eat flowers and plants and such.
They think they are clever.
The lions that sleep
Over the rocks as the sun shines on
In admiration
Eat gazelles and meat and such.
They think they are clever.
The humans that peep
Over the door of the truck as the sun
Shines on in admiration
Hunt everything around them.
They think they are clever.
They all think they are clever,
But…
The predators that lurks
In the shadows, in
The brightest sunlight, in
The deepest seas, that makes it's home
Everywhere
Doesn't think it's clever.
No.
It KNOWS it's clever.
It destroys everything and anything,
Grass, Gazelle, Lion, Human, Sun…
Time
Conquers all.
You think you're clever?
Think again.

I actually judge art (photographs/paintings/drawings), not poetry, so I will not review this submission. However, I like it very much. Your place on the contest, however, is determined by either Cloud Bunny or Hawkstar.
