I got my Welcome email!
…but Pottermore's down (the server probably got overloaded) so I haven't got a chance to see it yet. I wonder what it's going to be like in October, when registration opens for all, if the servers can't even hold up around a million people…

I'M IN RAVENCLAW!!!!!!!!!!
I honestly expected to get Hufflepuff, but YAY RAVENCLAW! Imo it has a better reputation and reception than Hufflepuff. I'm glad I didn't get Gryffindor- I'm not a Gryffindor at all- and I don't mind not being in Slytherin.
My wand is made of alder, 10 3/4 inches, unicorn tail hair core, and is slightly springy.
I have a black cat and I'm thinking of naming her either Sylvia, Noir (the show is so awesome), Sylvia Noir, or something completely different. 🙂

Yay!!! A fellow Ravenclaw. 🙂 Sylvia Noir is pretty (don't know the reference, sorry) and black cats are awesome. I was considering getting a cat (my parents used to have a black cat before I was born and I love hearing stories about her), but I thought it would be more practical to have an owl. And I could have a cat in real life, but not an owl. Well, I guess I could, but it wouldn't send letters for me. Anyway, I'm so glad someone else I know is on! Enjoy!

I GOT IN!!!!!!!!! I'm currently trying to accept Leaf's friend request, but it won't load. Is anyone here ErisedAuror53? It sounds semi-familiar, but I'm not sure, so I'm asking around in every place I've revealed my username to see if I know en. I've read too many usernames to be sure.

Sorry for double (or triple) posting but does anyone know how to cast a spell? I haven't been able to do it once.

@Ima: Yaaayy!! You got in!! I just got the email that you accepted my request, which is great.
@Olive: Okay, so when you get to the spell you want to practice, all the letters will appear. You type (or click on) the letter and a circle will start to expand and shrink. When the circle is the biggest, type or click on the letter again and it'll move to the next one. The faster you do it, the more points you get (or at least that is my hypothesis). Does that make sense?
While everyone's asking who various people are, I thought I'd ask who HeartFloo195, MistMoonstone10, and RoseFloo36 are. They've all friended me, but I can't for the life of me figure out who they are.

I'm feeling sad….because I didn't get to get in early. 🙁
Of course, that means I'll be with every other Potter fan in the world when we're finally allowed in and the website will explode. xP
Anyway, have fun, and I'm incredibly anxious to see which house I'll be sorted in. Every time I take a quiz I get something different. This will feel like it's the real deal. 🙂-
Hopefully, things will load well then. There are problems now because it's beta. Anyway, I have Internet now! I'm in Hufflepuff. I expected Ravenclaw, but I knew this was a possibilty. Anyway, I also have a pet and wand! My pet is a Natterjack toad named Klöner Hansel Ekel, Hansel for short. My wand is elm and unicorn hair, 10 3/4 inches, unyielding. The core and flexibility are just like I always dreamed!

I'll admit I'm kind of exultant about the additional notes on wandlore– not only were some of my favorite woods canonized as viable wand woods, but it confirmed most of my theories on the subject. Right down to the fact that older wands have nonstandardized cores!

Congratulations! I didn't have many theories–just a few general ideas about the personalities that went with the 3 cores and maybe a few about the woods and some about lengths and flexibility–but they were confirmed, too, except when it came to phoenix cores. I was wrong about that.

Thank you so very much for mentioning wand cores. I'm at Chapter 16 and was wondering when I'd ever get to learn about wands. So after a little research, I found that I had completely missed all the information about wands in Chapter 5. I guess I was so excited to get a wand that I missed the information entirely. But I'm very pleased with my wand now that I know more about it – I think it fits my personality well. 🙂
Re: predictions – Yes, TNÖ, congratulations! I had absolutely no theories and was very interested to see what wands were all about. As I said before, I'm very happy with what I got, but I'm also really happy that JKR gave us such great and detailed information about wands. I do personally wish that she had given us more information on length and flexibility, but no matter. She has done enough!
