∂∂ Fuchsia ∂∂

∂∂ I walk through the doors with a skip in my step. Two of the hosts are greeting guests. “Thank you!” I tell them, “Excited to be here.” ∂∂

∂∂ I set the strawberries on the refreshment table, next to some darling little flower-frosted cupcakes, and peony cheesecake, and cucumber flowers, and lavender milk tea–oh, this party is wonderful already! ∂∂

∂∂ I take a second to look around the room. Everyone’s outfits are so gorgeous, and most people are definitely much older than I, but I don’t care a bit. ∂∂

Fuchsia can talk to anyone:) I can’t figure out what that means though. She was going to initiate a conversation in this post with anyone who wasn’t in one yet (like Willa or Mirage or Cierra, but it seems like Willa might not want to be talked to for the time being?? And Mirage might be meeting Valerian? I don’t know how AE parties work, and I’m confused. Can someone please help?)

%The guests have started to arrive. I quickly look down at my outfit, making sure that there aren’t any wrinkles. Usually I don’t worry about this, but Cassiopeia, the newest AE, made a big deal about designing all of our outfits and put a lot of thought into each one, so I felt more cautious than usual.%

%I glance around, noticing how the guests have began to mingle. I suppose that, being a host, I should make an effort as well. I’m about to make my way to the entrance, when suddenly, someone bumps into me, their cape fluttering.%

%”#Watch yourself,#” they mutter. She glances over at me, and pauses, startled. “Er, sorry,” they say quickly.%

%”Ah, no worries,” I respond, offering what I hoped was an understanding smile. “I probably should have been watching where I was going.” I pause, then decide that this would be a good opportunity to socialize. “I’m Taurus,” I say. “What’s your name?”%

–Lyra-
-I heard the sound of familiar footsteps approach me, and I glance up, smiling immediately as I saw who it was. Eri, with his sparkling brown eyes and hair rumpled in a way that made my heart flutter. It had felt like an eternity since we last saw each other, and I’ve spent every moment, both waking and in my dreams, thinking about him.–

–“|Hello to you,|” Eri says, and his smile, which is warm with a hint of mischief, makes me want to melt. “|I missed you.|” He reaches out for a hug, which I immediately accept. The warmth of his embrace feels so amazing, and we stand there for a good few moments, embracing, in our own little pocket of time that could last forever.–

–Eventually, we let go, a smile still lingering on my face as I notice how handsome he looks next to the flowers, and say, “I’ve missed you as well. What have you been up to?”–

@Lyric, I think the best thing to do would be to go with the flow. If you approach an AE and the other AE they are shipped with show up, you could just silently excuse yourself from the conversation and find another AE not currently in a conversation to talk to.

And also I’ll come back later with something for Aries (feel free to approach him!)

@Lyric, Willa may be up for chatting, just approach slowly.

I soak in the ballroom, amazed at the sent and sheer beauty of the place. I see one of Amethyst’s AEs named Cierra who wasn’t talking with anyone yet. I thought she may be up to talk.

“Hi! I’m Callie. One of Thalorwin’s first AEs!! How are you doing?”

I stay over in the far corner as more AEs come in. I notice one AEs, Lyric’s I believe, her name was Fuchsia. She seems nice. I go over to talk to her real quick. Maybe not everyone here is as bad as I think. Everyone seems fairly nice. Even though I’m not a people person, I might as well give it a shot.

“Hi. Your name’s Fuchsia right? I’m Willa.”

@Amethyst – if you’re up for it, then sure, they can meet at the party! but ik you’re already rping with a few AEs, so if you’d rather have them meet in the future on AE Diaries or something then we can do that – whatever you want :DD

#Vanadium#

#The AE I crashed into seems to brush it off, and then gives me a slight smile — an unfairly dazzling smile — and says their name is Taurus, which, I have to admit, is a very cool name. “What’s your name?” they ask.#

#“I’m Vanadium,” I reply, fidgeting with the hem of my cape. “And sorry about before. I’m not…very good with people.” For some reason, I still feel bad about crashing into and then snapping at them — which is unlike me, as I usually can’t be bothered with these sorts of things. Trying to make it up to them, I add, with a nod towards their outfit, “That’s a pretty cool suit. Where’d you get it?” I hope I don’t seem insincere; it really is one of the coolest suits I’ve ever seen, but sometimes my tone comes across as flat. Hang on—since when do I care what people think of me?#

@pangolin – honestly, I’d love to have them meet here, but I aM already handling several AEs and I don’t have many chances to be on the CB rn… so perhaps we’d better leave it. I would love to have them meet up soon, though :))

|Lyra hugs me, and the warmth of her arms and her elusive fragrance of purple lilies sweeps me off my feet. We have a universe of our own, one where everything I usually value is gone and everything I’d never dreamed of is surrounding me with impossibly golden joy. All I want is to transmit that happiness to Lyra and keep her safe, encircled by the flowers she outshines in every way.|

|Eventually, though, the hug ends. “-I’ve missed you as well,-” Lyra says. “-What have you been up to?-“|

|”Oh, not much,” I say, settling myself into a leaning position against one of the treat-laden tables so that I can see her face more clearly. (Not a movement copied from Aldebaran. No. Certainly not.) Then I remember the flowers, and realize that the necessity of giving them to her makes for a rather awkward situation. The gesture is much too trite and probably not right for the occasion. But I got myself into this, so I hold them out to her. “And, um, well… These are for you. They reminded me of you. Except that you’re so much more amazing than they are.”|

Cierra

The AE I greeted has a fascinatingly celestial vibe – I don’t know how she manages to pull it off – and she seems bouncy and friendly. ~*Hi!*~” she says. “~*I’m Callie. One of Thalorwin’s first AEs!! How are you doing?*~“

“Great to meet you,” I reply, her happy energy drawing an equally happy smile out of me. “I’m doing pretty well! I’m so, so excited to be here.” I laugh, glancing around at the brilliant room. “How are you? What are you liking most about the party, so far?”

%”Thank you,” I say. “Unfortunately, I can’t credit it to my fashion sense, as it was thanks to Cassiopeia over there,” I nod towards Cassiopeia’s direction, “that I didn’t show up in a hoodie like I usually do.” I feel myself being nervous, which is completely unlike me. Usually I find it easier to navigate social situations on days like this. And yet, something about Vanadium makes it different. Either way, I try to maintain my usual composure and add genuinely, “Your dress is very nice as well. And the cape is really cool – I doubt I could have pulled it off like you do if I even had half your amazing fashion sense.” I feel like I’m blabbering, and I’m honestly not sure what I’m saying, but I silently hope for the best and that Vanadium doesn’t see me as completely socially awkward. I mean, not that I am, of course.%

–“|Oh, not much,|” he says, leaning against the tables in a way that makes him look so handsome and cool, like a photo from a magazine. I feel myself blushing slightly, which is only amplified when he adds, “|And, um, well… These are for you. They reminded me of you. Except that you’re so much more amazing than they are.|“-

–He hands me a bouquet of hyacinths, coneflowers, and violets, all in a wonderful purple color. His romantic gesture makes me wonder what I ever did to deserve someone as caring and amazing as he is, and I’m pretty sure I have a very goofy smile on my face as I take the flowers, saying, “These are absolutely beautiful! Thank you so much.” I’m not entirely sure what prompts me, but I end up taking one of the purple violets and carefully putting it in Eri’s hair behind his ear, which luckily, stays. I smile playfully and say, “You look amazing. Of course, you were just as handsome before.” Even without the flower, he looks unbelievably handsome, but I like to pretend that the violet adds something to it.–

_Aries_

_The guests have all about arrived, and I think that this would be a good time to find someone to talk to. I decide to go up to an AE who is not yet in a conversation, and introduce myself. “Hey! I’m Aries, one of the hosts for this party. What is your name? And how are you finding the party so far?”_
