NYCongrats, Moon Wolf! 🎉🎉🎉
The weatherman was secretly a mad scientist whose weather gadget malfunctioned, and that’s why the snow wasn’t melting! Writing a fake book summery is fun!😁 -

ThalorwinGuestThe search for the lost princess
Mary Anne woke up one morning. She was lost. Surrounded by ferns, trees, and flowers. In the castle Berkshire, her parents woke up to find that their dear princess Mary Anne was gone and nowhere to be found. Instincts took in. They immediately left the castle to look for their lost daughter. Meanwhile, Mary Anne heard a rustle in a bush behind her. Questioning if she should run. Suddenly, a large centaur poked his head from behind the bush. Mary Anne relaxed. There were many friendly centaurs in the forest surrounding the castle. The centaur offers to let her climb onto his back and bring her home.
On their journey, they run into mythical beasts from mythology. Will Mary Anne get reunited with her family, or will she be killed by the dangers that lurk in the forest?

SeadragonGuestThe Search for Onyx, fantasy, MG
For the past few years, Onyx has made her living searching for lost things–children, luggage, animals. People are always losing things, after all, in the tourist town of Meadows-by-the-Sea. The townspeople think that she finds her quarries through detective work, but only she knows that answers come to her through prophetic dreams. This is a dangerous secret, for magic is forbidden, after all…
One night, a woman from out of town, calling herself Illyra, asks for help finding her missing child. Onyx goes to sleep as usual and learns of the child’s whereabouts, but the next morning, before Onyx can tell Illyra, the child shows up at Onyx’s door. His name is Rin; he has been working as a beekeeper’s apprentice. Rin tells Onyx that Illyra is working for the police and is not to be trusted, and that Onyx should flee Meadows as soon as possible. Rin doesn’t know that Illyra is his mother.
Onyx decides to take Rin’s word and moves in with Rin and the beekeeper temporarily; sure enough, a band of Inspectors come and search her former house. Meanwhile, Rin, who along with the beekeeper is part of a secret ring of people with magical abilities, arranges for them to leave the country, although the Inspectors are behind them at every turn. Onyx finds it strange to so quickly go from the searcher to the searched…and that everyone on board their train seems to have a secret, including Illyra. -

toriGuestHouse of Souls, YA, Dark Fantasy
The House is the heart of reincarnation—and it has been for a very, very long time. It takes old souls and mixes them with others to create new ones, which are then pumped into the bodies of unsuspecting babies about to be born. When you die, you will eventually encounter the House. Most spirits inside are just waiting for reincarnation, milling about and rarely taking physical form. But once every few years, a lucid spirit appears. When this happens, things can go very well—or very, very badly.
Marie is one such lucid spirit. Within hours of arriving, she discovers that touching any part of the House releases fragments of memories from past lives her soul has carried. Sometimes, the memories don’t line up.
Before it’s too late, Marie realizes one terrifying truth: the House is deliberately feeding on souls, reshaping them for its own purposes. Racing against the clock, she must find the center of the House and shut it down before her time in the House runs out. Through winding hallways and twisted staircases, the House throws everything at her to stop her.
Will Marie fail, leaving all other souls to the House’s mercy—or succeed, unleashing a wave of past memories on the outside world?

A Celestial SkyHonorable Mention –
Thalorwin!
I love how sweet and whimsical this summary is! I love the setup of curiosity and wonder, the mythical creatures that make it feel like a fairy tale, and the sense of an adventure. A perfect cozy fantasy that would be great for a rainy day!Pea Vine!
I love the high-stakes adventure and the fantasy lore, of forgotten islands and magic! And the companion who might not be trustworthy… The story seems very compelling, and I’d definitely want to read it!Third Place – ScoutedWolfKnife!
I really enjoy the instant hook in the beginning, that really makes me wonder what might happen next. The high-stakes quest of saving an entire planet has me wanting to know what happens! And the character dynamics between Riven and Pax would be so fun to read!Second Place – Seadragon!
I love this because the premise feels fresh and clever: a professional finder of lost things who relies on prophetic dreams instead of logic. I enjoyed the tension created when Onyx goes from searcher to being searched, which flips expectations and keeps the story unpredictable. The forbidden magic adds stakes beyond the missing child, and the relationships, especially Rin’s secret connection and untrustworthy mother, give the story layers of mystery and intrigue. Overall, it’s suspenseful, inventive, and the kind of story I’d want to binge in one sitting!First Place – tori!
This immediately grabbed me because the idea of a House that reshapes souls for its own purposes is fascinating, and Marie’s search for the center of the House gives the story both physical and existential stakes. I love that the search isn’t just about action, but about uncovering truth, navigating fragmented memories, and racing against time. The combination of suspense, dark mystery, and layered worldbuilding makes it feel intense and gripping, the kind of story that would keep me reading late into the night. Congrats, you’re the next judge!-
