Well thank YOU so much for taking the time to reply to my post! And yes, I DID the MCU. I created a tradition for CBers and Admins alike – (that is, the Holiday Hunger games, a tradition of tirelessly combing through a post to remove all of the non-fantasy violence references :’) sorry)
The CB has changed a lot, but I’m glad it’s still around! I got really scared when I searched up Cricket Chatterbox and the link didn’t work (the links don’t work btw)-
I’ve reported the result of your search for Cricket Chatterbox to our webmaster. I’m glad you were able to find us! Did you also create the Confetti Angel? Or was that someone else?

I did not create the confetti angel, what is the confetti angel?

It’s a drawing someone made of an angel sprinkling confetti, and people used to include it with birthday and other congratulatory messages. It was on the old Chatterbox. I haven’t seen it for a while.

Welcome back Ella, it’s so nice to meet you! When I first joined the CB a few months ago, and saw that we always did a moment of silence during the MCU for you, I thought about how nice it would be if you came back someday and discovered that! I’m glad you did.😊
As for questions, when did you first join the CB, and what was it like back then?

I think I first joined around 2020. The website layout was way different – all woodsy themed. Though from what I’ve gathered through combing through posts, that’s a relatively new change.
Some of you guys might be wondering “What did This Month look like before the MCU?” Answer: it looked like a This Month without an MCU. Which is to say, mostly empty. That’s actually partially why I created the MCU.

The other reason was that joining the Chatterbox in 2019 was like moving to a new school. Everybody already had friends and inside jokes and connections – I didn’t 100% know where I fit in. So I came in by fixing a problem that had really bothered me: the lack of content on This Month!One more thing: where are the Captchas???
How Captchas used to work on the CB is that a string of letters would appear on the bottom before you posted, and you had to type them out. In addition to AEs, CBers created little characters called Captchas, who either spoke exclusively in whatever that post’s Captcha was (like my Captcha Floof) or had their dialogue mostly derived from the Captcha (like my more developed Captcha Sammy).
But I think I understand why that changed. Captchas stared out as four letter strings when I entered the CB, and then expanded to five letters later on due to security issues. Probably wasn’t the best idea to write out the Captcha answers in a language that bots could understand…

That I did! Originally, it was all just me, no switch-offs or guest hosts. It was really rewarding, but admittedly stressful, which is why I ultimately stopped doing them. I never expected people to continue the tradition! You never really know the impact you have on people until you’re gone*
*gone definition: realize that you forgot the Valentine’s reunion in April due to actually having a Valentine, and log onto a forum you haven’t visited in six years on a call with said Valentine only to find it completely changed. Yet despite everything, it’s still you.

I think the CAPTCHA’s disappeared when the site updated. I haven’t been on this site that long though, so I could have gotten some things wrong. And yeah, This Month would be pretty different without an MCU! It definitely had a big impact!

Oh my gosh, hi!!! It’s amazing to see you around again – I think we bumped into each other a couple of years ago?, but it’s always so nice to hear from you!! And yes, there’s a moment of silence in all the MCUs (a welcome break from AE chaos, I might add) – you founded an incredibly iconic CB tradition, and it’s an honor to carry it on :)) Answering your question about the captchas, they’ve been an integral part of the CB until recently, when the site changed (last May to be precise) – then they decided to change their identity and turn into Cloudflares instead >:)
And ooh, I can ask you anything?? The temptation is enormous… How’ve you been? What’s up these days? (Aside from the sky lol) What made you think of starting the MCU? Did you have any AEs, and if so, which was your favorite? What’s the meaning of the universe? How high is the sky? What’s your favorite book? Lots of questions, so I should really stop there… but it’s amazing to have you around again! You really are something of a legend <3

Why didn’t my comment go through? Huh…
I had to change my name ’cause I became… *drumroll* a content creator! I asked if I had to change my name and the answer was yes, so I changed it to “Thunder”. The name came to me in a dream, but my mom first thought I named myself after one of our cats…
I almost had a boyfriend. Let’s call him “A”. Him and I met at my BFF’s b-day party in April of 2024 (almost 2 years now), I gave him my email, and we started talkin’. I eventually got his phone number and we called and texted (I had to use my mom’s phone tho). We wanted to date, but my parents wouldn’t let us. Well, in July of 2025, I found out from my BFF who had the b-day party that A was tryin’ to get back with his ex!! Needless to say, A and I aren’t friends anymore. But there’s this dude, J, who I like and he might just like me back. Maybe. I’m tryin’ not to get my hopes up too high.
I got new celeb crushes! They’re Dream, GeorgeNotFound, Ranboo (my parents don’t know ’bout him yet), Tubbo (I just told them back in December), Joe Keery (Steve Harrington from Stranger Things), and maybe one on Dacre Montgomery (Billy Hargrove from Stranger Things) (also, the first 4 were in 2024, with Tubbo and Ranboo comin’ first and then Dream and George; Joe Keery didn’t officially happen until the last week of January of this year and Dacre Montgomery… still decidin’ if that’s an official crush, but if it is, then it started I think in mid- to late March).
I don’t really know what happened to the CAPTCHAs. It’s sad though… I miss them :'( -

Goodness, hi! It’s always wonderful when people drop back in! I’m Poinsettia, she/her – I joined in 2022, so a little bit after you left, I think. I always think the MCUs are wonderful and enjoy reading them:)
Around here, we had a Major Upheaval when the site was changed, which I think happened sometime in spring 2025? Other than that there’s no major news, except that Kyngdom is still active!
How is life going for you these days? Any exciting projects or updates? I hope you’ve been doing well!

Hello Poinsetta! I think I remember seeing you around. I’m just working hard on college right now. I have tons of ideas for new projects, but the MCU taught me to take it slow and wait until I have the proper resources before jumping into something. It’s wonderful to see how much of an impact it made, but let me tell you, it was quite difficult to do on my own! Rotating hosts was the best option.
