I’m travelling to a different state (I won’t say which until I get home for safety reasons, but it is not California) as a native-born Californian and there are so many things I’m seeing, even in GROCERY STORES, that would not fly back home; for example, there are fireworks being sold in grocery stores, and sparklers and such; back home in California, you just can’t have private fireworks because of things called fires, and I’m pretty sure there is some law that says you have to be a licensed pyrotechnician to operate them. Also, we got two items at the store (broth and some medicine) and they put them in SEPERATE PLASTIC BAGS EVEN THOUGH BOTH WERE SEALED. In California, there actually is a law that the customer chooses how many bags they want, and you have to pay 10 cents for each bag if it is plastic or paper (and they are starting to outlaw plastic bags altogether). It is just a really strange culture shock; I didn’t know it was possible to experience culture shock travelling domestically…

It’s so interesting why biology curriculum (or at least the ones I used) always pictures the nucleus as a small perfectly round sphere. So misleading.

Anyone else know that feelin’ where you write somethin’ and you look at it and go, “oh, man, this is the best thing I’ve ever written”, but you look at it, like, a year or so later and you’re like, “what on earth is this?” Yeah, that’s me with my stories I’ve written that shall not be talked ‘bout for a particular reason…

@Pangolian, that sounds like something Brandon Sanderson would write. I would totally read about it though. Two things I’ve been thinking about:

1-What if one of us in the very near future gets famous, but because we don’t put our real names out, we never know that we’ve been chatting with a famous person. If you’re ever famous pls tell me. And send me your autograph.

2- sea bunnies. Not actual bunnies, but very adorable.

I’m not trying to throw a pity party, but I’ve had such a bad day… I literally just want to curl up in a hole and sob. and never come out.
