Harry Potter

by J. K. Rowling (Joane Kathleen Rowling)

This books are great! At first I thought they sounded kind of weird, but when I bought one I thought it was really good. It is about a boy named Harry Potter who is adopted by his horible aunt and uncle and he can do really strange things. Then a mystical letter arives and soon after that he learns he is a wizard! Read all of the books of Harry Potter to find out about all his adventures at Hogwarts School of witchcraft and wizardry while he battles with the altimate dark lord. My favorite one of these books is Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Askaban book 3.

Harry Potter...my favorite series of all time! Smile

It's so well written, and the plot is amazing.

I especially liked the last book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I would gladly go back and read the whole series again, except for book 5 (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix). SPOILER ALERT: It's just too terrible, with that ugly, horrible Umbridge and Sirius dying. END OF SPOILER

Books are so much better than the movies, which leave out many details of the plot.

I absolutely LOVED this series. I have all seven books at home and have read the enire series over 10 times. My favortie book is the fifth one, Harry Potter and The Order of the Pheonix. I just feel that its the best written one. For anyone who had not read this series should definitely try it.

I dunno. It seems kinda- icky. Overdone, maybe. Anything that's super-popular seems okay but tends to quickly decline after everyone realizes that it's only pretty good. I've never read it because my parents don't want me too, but I've read books like it and I think that really, true masters don't need to have their characters go and save the world just to captivate the readers. Really good ones have smaller goals, like keep the queen from dying, or keep on living.

See, that's what everyone thinks before reading these books. They are nothing like the way they're portrayed in the movies or by the media. You feel like a part of the book, and you will always hold a special place for them in your heart. Not to mention, I really like the way Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, Luna, Cho, Ginny, Dean, Seamus, etc. all worked together to save the wizarding world. You have no right to say a word about these phenomenal books if you've never even read them yourself. Just stop.

Mudge says 'oyay.' Oh, YAY! I agree -- HP makes me say YAY!!!!!

My favorite part about the series was not the saving the world bit, which was why I liked Deathly Hallows almost least of all the books (though I didn't dislike it). I missed Hogwarts. Hogwarts is basically why I think the series has the popularity it does. Because at the end of the day when Voldemort has been staved off yet again with the help of Dumbledore and a few more complicated things have been explained and the little tangential romances have kept us suitably sidetracked are figured out, we are reading about this fabulous, fairy-tale but very British, boarding school where you can use a wand to pretty much accomplish anything--and at least the most mundane things--that you couldn't do in real life. Like washing dishes and fetching things. One of my favorite scenes was when Fred and George said "Accio broomsticks" and they came flying out of Umbridge's office, trailing their chains triumphantly.

I can't really do Harry Potter justice, so I won't try to. And yes, Fred, Lupin, Tonks, I miss you! Gotta say, Goblet of Fire is my fave. Anyone else think Luna and Neville make a great couple?
