Eragon

by Christopher Paolini

Eragon is the first book of the Inheritance cycle. An adventure is born to him when he finds a polished blue stone in the forest--but the stone is not merely a stone, but a dragon egg. From this comes the root of both joys and problems, as Eragon is then hounded by the men of the evil King Galbatorix and is forced to flee his home. With only an ancient sword and an old storyteller to help him on his way, can Eragon find the way to survive?

Yeah I know that I am commenting really late but I thought I would try to get it back to the top and get some old threads going. This was an amazing book. I never actually read it all the way through in the book but I have listened to it many times. I think it is pretty original. The movie was horrible though. I am not saying compared to the book I am saying that is was not well made and the actors did not portray the characters very well. I can't believe that the fourth book has not come out yet. I am not even sure he will ever finish it. i listened to the other two and i think that the third is my favorite. I really want the fourth one to be published so that I can know where the voult of souls is. I am very curious.

I read it and I LOVED IT!!!! It was as good as Harry Potter, and it was written by a teen. I love Arya and Saphira and am crazy about the word brisingr. Most of the ancient language is really cool.

This is, like, the coolest book. I read the first two, and am just dying for the third. My library only has one copy, and everyone is reading it before #4 comes out next month. I can't wait for that, either!

I don't know if this is just a coincidence, but the comments from a few years ago are more favorable the the more recent ones. I liked the series pretty well, on the whole, but the movie seemed pretty boring. There are better movies based on books to watch instead.

I know! So many people posted a couple years ago, why aren't they still?

I love this series, have you read Inheritance? How is it? I really want to read it!

Cool

I haven't read all the posts but, to be frank, I really disliked Eragon. The writing was boring and he kept saying things like. "Eragon was working hard and it made him tired but he was still happy." If you say that in a high, babyish voice, you'll get what I mean. I stopped 3/4 of the way through.

I thought that this was a pretty good book, there was just way too much (in my opinion) description. So much that I sometimes had to go back and reread parts to remember what had been happening. Still a pretty good book, though.
