((Thanks, Hannah. But, not to nitpick- in response to your last post,

a) Luna hasn't been born yet, not for like thirty more years

b) Luna's mother is dead by this point, so her "mum and dad" couldn't have "practically everything" (regarding the garden thing)

c) Dolores is only thirteen, so she's *technically* not, uh, able to be the DADA teacher yet. *cough*

Not to nitpick, again, but this is Marauders era. James, Lily, Remus, Sirius, Bella, Snape, etc. as children. Yes?))

(( Very correct. And besides, this gives us more room to roam freely with the storyline. Yay! :D ))

Oh. sorry. i didn't know what you meant by maurauders era. And when people were saying things about Dolores I thought that meant we were in the fifth year. Again, sorry!

Not to nitpick, Mary W., but Luna's mother died after Luna was born. Luna's mom would still be alive.

If Bella is around then Tom RiddleTongue outUndecided is around and if James and Lilly were alive they would be fifty. sorry.

Beg pardon?

Ummmmmm Rachel, no. (Rachel is my sister). We are in the maurauders era, meaning that James, Lily, Lupin, Snape, Peter Tongue out, Sirius, and everyone else around that time is aprx. in their fifth or sixth years. That means, Luna, Ginny, Hermione, Ron, Harry, Neville, and people like that are not born yet, but I think Tonks would be about five or six at this time.

((Andromeda, Tonks' mum, is somewhere between 12 and 16 years old (she's the middle Black sister). I'd be scared if Tonks was already five or six at this time. Very scared indeed.))

((Yeah, I noticed that too. Sorry, Hannah, but this Maurader-era. Okay, I've been Sorted already. I'm in Ravenclaw.  Are we at the feast? I'll assume so.))

I glanced around at the others at my table, eating food and laughing and talking. Friends were catching up with each other after summer vacation. I had no opening for talking to anyone, and my hat was about to fall off at any minute. I reached for a basket of something which looked like... frogs? I let the basket fall back on the table and reached for a bowl of stew. At least I recognized stew. I put out my bowl and ladled a spoonful in when SMACK! My hat fell off and landed in the stew, spraying everyone at the table.

((She's Muggle-born, by the way. And the hat thing comes from the day when Deathly Hallows was released and I went around wearing this big wizards' hat that kept falling off.))

((So, people! Here's a question. Are we doing an alternate universe? And if so, can Tom/Voldy be the DADA teacher? please oh please oh please?))

Bellatrix shook her head in exasperation as Ainsley whispered about her plans to 'greet' the underclassmen. Narcissa, on the other hand, looked terrified.

"Calm down, Cissy," Bellatrix said dryly, prodding her potatoes delicately. "You'll be fine." She grinned again, her eyes glittering evilly. "I mean, if you stick close to me your eyebrows'll only be partly gone."

"What?!" hissed her sister, her eyes growing to nearly twice their size.

"Kidding." Bellatrix elbowed her sister lightly. "It's more practical jokes and whatnot anyway. Just check your bed before going to sleep. And don't drink anything 'til tomorrow morning. Now eat. Or you'll starve to death." She stirred her potatoes more vigorously.

Hmmm...this is interesting. haven't you guys ever tried googling "Harry Potter RPG"? It's like this, only much faster and more people. Trust me. Wink

((Oh, and Lena, try using third person, not first. It makes it a lot easier on everyone. Laughing))

((...and also less fun because it's harder to keep track of everyone and everything... Thank you very much.

And furthermore, I don't care if she writes third-person. ))

((Okay, sorry. I'm just used to writing first person because that's what I use for most of my stories.))

((Tom/Voldy as the DADA teacher is completely unrealistic, but would be rather interesting... so I vote yes.))

//Talia//

Talia felt a headache coming on, what with all the excitement of the first day of school and catching up with her friends and the like. The fifth years were all buzzing about pulling some vulgar prank on the first years, and while Talia and her friends were all for practical jokes on people they didn't like (Hufflepuffs, mainly), it just got obnoxious when the new fifth years started thinking that just because they took their OWLs and could be prefects and such in fifth year they were all that ((very wordy run-on sentence, sorry)).

Talia halfheartedly ate some of her dinner, but she wasn't hungry and it was far too loud in the Great Hall. Getting up from the bench, she nodded to her friends. "I'm going up to the dorms," she said quietly, even though she knew that it was the first day and she should stay at the feast, not wandering around the school without permission. "Bit stuffy in here."

Slipping out of the Hall, she walked silently up to the Slytherin girls' dormitories.

((that's not so great))
