I haven’t seen or heard of a thread such as this, so here goes.... *rubs hands together*
Welcome, welcome, to the magical thread for any Potterhead who wishes to attend!! Here we will discuss our Houses.
Well they don’t know what they are do they? Are you going to tell them what house they’re in then? Do you happen to have a Sorting Hat lying around somewhere?
Urm... no. I don’t have that much magical expertise, I simply assumed-
-they all knew? Not likely.
Well, ok. Maybe not.
So how will they find out?
Um... I was just getting to that. So, if you don’t already know how, to find out your house you figure out which matches your qualities best:(if you’ve read the books you already know this)
Griffindor House — Bravery, Nerve
Slytherin House — Cunning, Pure-Blood
Ravenclaw House — Intelligence, Uniqueness
Hufflepuff House — Loyalty, Diligence
Whichever one you best fit is your house.
If you want to be sure about it and make sure it’s official, you can take an online House Quiz.There are many of them on the Web, but I find the one on the official website, Pottermore, (which I can’t link for obvious reasons), is the best. You do need to make an account by putting in an email, making a password, and verifying the email, but the quiz is fun, easy, and doesn’t require personal information, it simply asks your preferences. There are also similar quizzes to determine your wand and Patronus if you want to do that too.
If you don’t have access to this, you can always just make a good estimate as to what house you’re in, but I strongly recommend the Pottermore quizzes.
Anyway, back to this thread.

I’ve taken the Pottermore quiz like, six times because I have forgotten my account’s password six times. I got Ravenclaw 3x, Slytherin 2x, and once Gryffindor, which made me deeply angry because “brave” is literally the LAST thing I am.
I’d say I’m pretty much equal parts Ravenclaw and Slytherin. For the former, I love learning, knowing things, being right, and am the first to admit that I am the most obnoxious person to be in a class at school with. (I earned the nickname ‘Hermione’ from one of my seventh grade teachers.) Slytherin-wise, I’m ambitious to a fault, always trying to be the best at everything I do and just so much... fervor for the things I want to do and see and change.

I don't have Pottermore and I refuse to sign up for it, so I did a cheap knockoff quiz and got 29% Ravenclaw, 27% Gryffindor, 23% Hufflepuff and 21% Slytherin. Help.

Since we finally finished the books, I now know! (According to Pottermore, that is.) @Admins, I thought that Pottermore is the one site which we are allowed to post links from. Is this true? Or am I making things up? Orrr was that revoked?
But anyhoo--drumroll please--I am a Gryffindor! For the past few years I thought I was a Ravenclaw or Slytherin (No they aren't evil, nor just misunderstood. They will likely stay on the side which will gain them most power, which is why many end up on a not-so-great side.), but on closer examination, it makes a lot of sense that I'm a Gryffindor. I stick to my values and ideals, and never abandon them. If other people fail certain ideals, then the friendship may be severed. But if not, then we will stay close friends for a long time.
It was one of the few sites whose usernames we would post on Chatterbox, but I think the site has been revised since its early days. We may need to check it out before we allow that again.

I am a slitherin, my second house is ravenclaw, also I think that the house is chosen not by the properties that you have, but by the properties that you want/admire the most.

I'm definetly Hufflepuff House! My friends mean the world to me, and I work hard to get what i want or care about. I spend ages in my room practiceing my drawing or painting techniques. I also worked really hard to get the boys to be alowed in the school band, which for some weird reason only was for girls! So yeah I'm definetly Hufflepuff.

Oh, I'm a Hufflepuff, but my friends say I'm a little bit Ravenclaw :). My Ilvermony house is Pukwudgie, I believe.

Hufflepuff here! I've actually taken the quiz honestly several times and gotten each house at least once. But I have the most Hufflepuff values, so I chose that.
After Fantastic Beasts came out there were suddenly a lot more Puffs, but we were Hufflepuffs before it was cool! Well, it was always cool. People just didn't know it yet.
