With Lupine's idea

Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Book Club
With Lupine's idea...

With Lupine's idea from the Book Club Book recommendation, I made a book club thread. (Sorry Lupine if it hurts your feeling. :(  But I'll listen to your idea and add them to the activity! Since it was originally your idea. :) So please add them to the comment. And the rest of you, too! If you want to do an activity that I didn't talk about, please let me know.)

Each month we'll read same book seperately, (since we can't meet) and we'll select an activity we want to do. Here are some list of activities I though about: Book report, creating a new character to the book(sort of like RPs), crafting, writing some short stories inspired by the book we read. (I never done a book club before, so I don't know much about it, so the book club I suggested can be different from what you already know. Let me know if you don't like this and I'll fix it if possible.

Please write some books you'd like to read with us when you decided to join. AND please write "I want to join" if you decided to join. *You can skip a month or two anytime if you are busy*

The book club starts on November and I'd want to read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone for the first month. Any other ideas?

I am done reading the entire book. We should make a story with the character as well.

Okay then. Let's just start with people who are done with reading! I'll start. Will you? About the activity, I think each of us should choose our own and do whatever we want because different people can have different opinions about activities after we read the book and it seems unfair to force them into doing things just because their opinion is differnt. I think I'm going to set up a backstory of Maze Runner 1 even though I know there are books that continue them. I just want to imagine.

I might start.

Should we decide the next book? I also have a few ideas for other stuff we can do (what you came up with is great though!). Like, maybe we could vote on a theme for the month then suggust books based on that? And the activity could be optional. If you don't want to use them, that's fine! Also, if you are not using the ideas, can i suggust manga?

I'm not sure if we can get manga easily, though. Also I don't understand Japanese. But American comics and graphic novels are always welcomed.

Okay, PLEASE suggest book for December, everyone! Please!

Hmm... MY suggestion is a graphic novel of the Baby Sitters Club by Raina Telgemeir. Its title is The Truth About Stacey. And about the activity, if you don't WANT to do an activity, you can just share your ideas and opinions about the book we read. And of course, you CAN do an activity if you want. I think, the activity might be a pressure to some people. And you can do whatever activity you want. And like Pancake said, we are always eager to hear activity ideas!

Also, just a note, manga is not written in japanese. Or at least, not here. It would be translated. I suggust what Once was mine by Liz Braswell.

YES NEXT BOOK

If we're deciding theme first, Mystery and Adventure.

If we're just deciding the book, allow me to present to you--

THE SECRET KEEPER by TRENTON LEE STEWART

I got this book as a birthday present yesterday and from what I've read so far it's AMAZING!!!!!!!!1 It's by, yes, the same person who write THE MYSTERIOUS BENEDICT SOCIETY!!!!!!

Sorry I didn't participate in November- I couldn't find the book anywhere!!

And of manga, it's super easy to access.  It would be translated, and due to it's mounting popularity it's found in almost any bookstore and library.

I still vote for the Secret Keepers though.  If I were to vote for manga, I'd do My Hero Academia 1 or Yotsuba&! 1.
