If you like fantasy & mystery, the Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place is really good! (Not sure if anyone has said this already.) It's set during the Victorian era in England, so it also has historical fiction elements, and the magical parts don't really come in until the last book. But it's one of my favorite series. The writing style is very quirky and cute, and the characters are wonderful ^_^ Definitely recommend!

I'm not sure whether you're into J or YA fiction, so I included three of each :) (And I promise, the YA books are not as inappropriate as I made them sound; all the trigger warnings are fairly minor in the books)

J fiction recommendations: The Pandava Quintet, by Roshani Chokshi (five books; magical realism/adventure/mythology; some fighting and death, but nothing graphic)

Wings of Fire, by Tui T. Sutherland (three 5-book series' with two additional books and graphic novels of the first five books; fantasy/adventure; some violence and death, mild gore that isn't described, but is definitely there)

Nevermoor, by Jessica Townsend (3 books out so far, with a fourth coming soon and a total of nine to be in the series; fantasy/adventure with slight steampunk elements; minimal death/violence but some spooky elements)

YA fiction recommendations: Any of Leigh Bardugo's GrishaVerse books (the GrishaVerse consists of the Shadow & Bone trilogy, then the Six of Crows duology, then the King of Scars duology; fantasy/adventure, Six of Crows is also a heist and King of Scars has a lot of palace politics; death, violence, and in Six of Crows there's also mentions of sexual abuse, addiction, and human trafficking, some cursing)

The Raven Cycle, by Maggie Steifvater (four books in the original series, the sequel trilogy has two books out already and the third comes later this month; magical realism/adventure, and please note that though it is marketed everywhere as romance, the romance is just a subplot; violence, some death, frequent cursing)

These Violent Delights, by Chloe Gong (original series is a duology, the first book in a sequel duology came out recently; historical fiction/thriller/rewrite of Romeo & Juliet; gangs/gang violence, death, scary elements with some body horror, mentions of suicide, people curse in Russian and Mandarin and maybe in English, but I can't remember)

Hi and welcome, Hawkstar. I love books. Here's a few good fantasy ones:

The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings.

The Hero and the Crown

The Green Ember. It's about a bunch of rabbits fighting evil hawks and wolves. I admit *sob* that I thought it sounded lame, but then I read the series and will never underestimate rabbits again!

Artemis Fowl. The first book is mindblowing! The rest of the series was disappointing though.

The Penderwicks. This is actually realistic fiction, but plenty of action.
