Chatterbox: Blab About Books

book log 2023
this is basically...

this is basically a reboot of Lupine's Monthly Book Log. if you don't know, what you do is post the names of the books you've read every month/week/whatever, and at the end of the year (if the thread doesn't die) you can see how many books you read that year. plus, you can get lots of book recommendations from other people's lists! if you want, you can include a bit of what you thought of each book, or its genres, or maybe how many stars out of five. do as much or as little as you like.

so, yeah! very simple in theory, but a cool idea. here we go. (happy new year, everybody :D)

I know right? It's so good and I love the art! Wish I could draw like that, but alas. I am most definitely not a professional.

No....but DEFINITELY getting it from the library. If the art is as good as the girl from the sea...well, I'm excited. Thanks for letting me know!

Ooh, is that by Christiane M. Andrews? I've been wanting to read that, I read her other book and loved it. Was it good?

Yeah I thought it was good! I wasn't really sucked in until a couple chapters in but it picked up a lot and I love her writing style. I have read her other book yet, it's called Spindlefish and Stars right?

Yeah, Spindlefish and Stars. I had a similar reading experience with that one, it took me a while to get into it but when I did I really enjoyed it.

My first book of the year was technically a reread: The Real Boy by Anne Ursu. I listened to the audiobook a few years ago, but the novel has illustrations so I wanted to read a hard copy too. This book is very very good, I recommend.

B-B-BWAAAAH...

I never get any new books to read.

No, it's not because I'm too lazy to buy them or whatever.

It's...because I finish them the day I get them...

Sooooo no new books for me.

I just go to Barnes and Nobles or my library :3
