book log 2024!

here's the 2024 book log! if you don't know how this works, here's the drill: once you finish a book, post the title and author here (if you want, you can also include your thoughts on the book, its genres, how many stars out of five you'd rate it, whatever). at the end of the year, you can see how many books you've read, plus you get a ton of recommendations from other people's lists!

happy new year, everyone!

Fairest by Marissa Meyer

A side story in the Lunar Chronicles about Levana, the antagonist in the main story. Levana is a Lunar (similar to human but they live on the moon and have mind powers they call bioelectricity manipulation), as well as a princess. She manipulates her appearance with her powers to cover up her disfigurement from when she was pushed into a fire by Channary, her older sister. I rate 7.5/10

Winter from the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer

Final book in the Lunar Chronicles about Cinder overthrowing evil queen Levana of Luna by getting the people to rebel against her in time to stop the wedding and coronation. Winter is Levana's stepdaughter and slightly crazy though beautiful princess who helps Cinder and her friends. Based loosely on Snow White. I rate 9/10

so far this month:

the entire inheritance games series--9/10, amazingggg love love love. i suppose i read the first one in march but whatever.

101 essays that will change the way you think--6/10, not a bad book overall, just written in a difficult way that made it hard to understand the content. also likely intended for young adults.

julieta and the romeos (reread)--8/10, light read, chill, just not spectacular.

every soul a star (reread)--8/10, again, not spectacular, but well-written. i loved this book when i was ten so it's been a while since i read it.

lovely war--10/10, ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. literally the writing is beautiful and so is the story. definitely recommend.

little white lies--9/10, really good. same author as the inheritance games. there's a sequel which im in the middle of.

the hunger games--10/10, my favorite series probably ever. i reread all of them twice this month.

the summer of impossibilites--?/10, haven't finished, good so far though.

there's so many other books i can't remember ugh but this is a good chunk of it.
