FRESH ASK ADMIN

FRESH ASK ADMIN

So yeah, this is the new AA thread, and I will ask the Admin: What happened to my post asking if I could make a movie about the CB? Are you guys discussing it?

Right. I opened it after 5 on Friday. So no one is likely to see the query till at least Monday morning.

Hey admin,

How do I get this month's cover?

You can buy a poster-size print of the cover at cricketmag.com/coverprints.htm.

So do you just put all the contest entries that don't make it in the mag and are still done accoording to the rules on the web or do you choose which ones get put for honorable mention?

We get hundreds of entries for each contest, so we can't post all that don't make the magazine on the website. We do carefully read and consider each one, though.

Yo adimins, I was wondering... Do you have any idea whatsoever how to get pictures to show up? ( that I drew) I am helping one of our fellow cbers!

No, I'm sorry I don't. Other CBers will be better at helping you than I would be. Some of them know how. I think you have to post it on another site first, then copy and paste to CB.

Okay I'm new here and wanted to ask, what is a Admin?

I'm kinda lost. Embarassed

Welcome, Emily. Admin is short for Administrator. There are three of us, adults who take turns reviewing submitted comments for propriety before posting them on Chatterbox.

@ Admins.

Before, whenever I went to make a post, I would have to manually turn on the spell-check when I typed up my post. And the "Name," Location," ect. lines would have no spell check. But today, when I came on, the lines for Name and stuff showed the red lines when I mispelled a word, and when I put on the spell check for the body, it wouldn't work. When my father looked over it, he couldn't find anything on our computer (We're using FFirefox 31.0 on Ubuntu 12.04) and thought it might be something on your side. The spell check works on all of the sights that it did before, and we haven't spotted any other changes. Do you have any idea what's wrong?

Admin: Is the spell check a feature of your browser, or a feature of our site?

Good question. I think it's our browser, but it only doesn't work on this sight. Strange. Oh, well.

Admin, I was wondering. Would Cricket publish a story written by kids? I write a lot of stories and want to publish them somewhere but they're really short.

The only place we publish work by kids is in Cricket League. Look for the special theme and rules in each issue and at cricketmagkids.com/contests. There are other publications that print student work. One is our sister magazine Cicada, for readers 14 and up. Another is Stone Soup. You might ask a teacher or librarian to help you find a place to send your stories.

Yes, I'm not 14 yet, but Admins-- I was wondering:

If we post our writing in the Inkwell, are we still able to submit it to Cicada or post it to the Slam? Just curious, because I know it says you're not able to sumbit the same piece of writing to multiple magazines.

Thanks!

-Madeline, almost 14

Good question. I'll ask Cicada for you. I also suggest you send an email inquiring to mail@cicadamag.com. Because when I hear from Cicada, I might not be able to find this thread to post the reply on.
