BOOK CLUB:

Ok guys, so I was thinking. What do you think about starting a book club? We could decide on a book and all read it at the same time and stuff. Have any of you read The Boy in the Striped Pajamas?

Well, but Lloyd Alexander's books are fairly short, and I'd love to read more by him....:):):) I don't care what we read...The only thing is I just recently read "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe...." Sorry! I feel like I'm saying "let's do Narnia!" And then saying "let's not do Narnia." Oy. I'm alway contradicting myself....:):):)

Ok, I know this should probably go somewhere else, but if you like Shannon Hale books, these are the ones I have read, and I really enjoy them.

Princess Academy

Book of A Thousand Days

The Goose Girl

Enna Burning

River Secrets

Those are the ones I can think of right now.(:

NH- Book Addict (:

Good point.  Hmm... I'm all for historical fiction, that's my main genre!  *thinking*

What about Mandy, as a happy book.  It's one of my favorites, and I was going to reread it soon anyway.  :)

Huh, it's good we aren't all in the same area, because if we choose a book that most of us don't own, we wouldn't be able to get enough copies form the library!  :)

I'd like to join this book club, if that's okay. I think that there are probably enough books to choose from already, so I won't put any more. I think maybe Trixy is right about not doing separate book clubs, but for a different reason. I think with all the different ones, Chatterbox will be clogged! We should just stick with one! So... what does everyone else think? And when will we start to vote?

Good point.  Maybe we should rotate genres!  You know?

Huh, too bad we can't ask the webmaster to create another section for the book club, so it doesn't over fill a different one.

But I guess we have enough sections about literature....  :(

Ugg, that comment messed with my mind!  I had a bewildering dream last night that the WebMaster completely redid Chatterbox with all kinds of new sections to sort threads by name, and that we could start putting our photos on here, and all kinds of crazy stuff.  It was really hard to navigate, and I was starting to panic!!  Then I woke up, and thought, ok, it must have been a dream... but I guess I was still dreaming, because it was still that awful way!!

Thankfully, I finally actually did wake up, and it was normal.  That was a great relief!!  :D

Thank you, WebMaster, for not changing it to be wacky!  :D :D :D

You're welcome, Laura!

Hee hee! :D:D:D I bet it was that mixed with the new A.G. website! I love it when I can figure out where the differerent parts of my dreams come from. :)

I really have no idea... BELLATRIX????  What should we read???

WOW... four pages and still we haven't even decided on one book!

We should just do The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe since it seems like many people have been leaning that way.

Note from Old Cricket: At one point didn't someone suggest that each person in the book club take a turn selecting the book to be read? Do you have a list of people who have signed up? How about starting with the first person on the list and have her/him pick the first book? If my old memory serves me right (hope I'm not going out on a limb here), I think the first person MIGHT be Grace. Or whose idea was it to have a book club? Let that person pick first. Hope this helps you get going!
