Hmm, I guess I'm going to write this part just like I would any comment?

*I walk across the room (are we in a room?) to where the jukebox stands (can we have a jukebox??). I play 'Stella Blue' by the Grateful Dead for fun. It isn't dancing music...but...hey. I like it...XD the song lasts five (ish) minutes. When it is done someone else will play there own song. I walk over to Ashlee.*

"Do you want to dance Ashlee?" I ask, laughing.

General Waffleson (AKA: MEEEEEE!)~

I walk into the room, feeling slightly awkward to come alone. I immediatly spot the chill-out group in the corne, and walk towards them. "Hey, guys," I say, as I draw closer, "who wants to play a card game?" I hold up my deck. A couple CBers mumble a "Yeah," and we gather around a table. The card game is a feirce one, and in the end, Esquire wins. The dance floor is relatively empty, and there doesn't seem to be many people here. I walk over to the jukebox and put in a quarter for a random song. I don't recognise the tune, but I see a couple other CBers bobbing their heads in a blasè fashion. I look to the entreance to see if any new CBers are arriving. Turns out I looked at the right time. Coming down the path to the room, are DiamondBright and elementgirl, and both of them look stunning. I have to concetrate to not stare. I head back over to the corner, blushing profusely, and hoping they don't see me like this. When I reach the corner, I see a couple CBers looking at me with a strange expression.

"Aren't you going to greet your dates?" one of them asks.

"What? I thought that I established I'm going solo," I replied.

"But they both asked you. It's impolite to keep someone waiting." the same CBer points out.

"Alright, fine, I'll go," I say, and trudge away from the corner towards Diamond and Elementgirl, trying my hardest not to blush again as I reach them. "Hello. You two look stunning! I'm sorry for the wait. Would either of you ladies give me the honor of a dance?" I ask nervously.

(Oh, I almost forgot about this thread!)

I walk into the room, slightly dazed by the beautiful floors and swirling lights. Across the room, I see Silver turn on an unfamiliar but great song in a jukebox. I head over, and laughing, she asks if I would like to dance.

"Of course!" I say, glancing at all those who are dancing and chatting. "This should be fun."

Forgot to mention what I'll be wearing too.

I've actually been persuaded (by Zoey, strangely) to take off my customary cloak and wear a dress. (She said that if she has to wear a dress to balls, then I have to wear a dress to balls.) My dress is knee-length and black. It's in that skater-skirt style, with a tightish bodice and a loose, spinny skirt. I'm wearing black lace-up flats, and my hair ir pulled back in a braided half ponytail.

Laughing, I swirl through across the dance floor with Ashlee. The song ends and people stop dancing, laughing.

I see General Waffleson standing up from some card game he was playing. I give him an encouraging smile, he must have be veryembarrassed. I see Lucy walk in and I wave at her, smiling. I hope she will come over and dance with me at some point in the ball!

I grin at Ashlee. "This is so fun!"

~ME!!

I walk through the doors, feeling just a LITTLE weird, assuming I'm late.  And everyone's wearing such fancy clothes compared to my cosplay.  I never thought I'd felt more out of place in a dance, wearing something I'm proud of.  I glanceo ver at the party corner, where General Waffleson is hosting a poker game.  I make my way over there, weaving through other people talking to each other.  I make it to there just as Esquire wins.  And just as I'm about to ask if I could play the next game with them, he walks away.  Dangit . . .

Maybe I can play something at the jukebox.  But if I do, I'll have to wait until the song that's playing will end.

I lean against the wall, and pull my goggles off for a minute.  Without my glasses (or goggles, in this case), everything is blurry.  Geez, I feel SO akward!  And I haven't said a word to anyone yet!  And why do I have to feel so out of place!?  No one comes to a friggin' DANCE in COSPLAY!

I sigh and lean back against the wall as Esquire wins the poker game. "I win!" she cheers. General Waffleson and Dumpun sigh in unison with me. Then General Waffleson spots elementgirl and DiamondBright walking in, and he leaves our little game to go greet them.

I spot Lucy leaning awkwardly against the wall near me, watching Waffleson (can I call you that?) leaving. I stand up from my cross-legged position and walk over. "Hey Lucy!"

She grimaces when she sees me. "Ah, hi, Starseeker."

"Is something wrong?" I ask, leaning on the wall next to her.

She pulls at her Jedi robe and frowns.  "I just-- I don't know. Is it weird that I came in cosplay?"

I laugh. "Is that all that's bothering you? Don't worry, I got you." I reach over and grab my own cloak out of my bag. (I know Zoey told me not to, but I couldn't resist!) I swing it around my shoulders and pull up the hood. Lucy laughs.

Dumpun and Esquire stroll over to us. "Hey, is this a corner cloak party and no one told me?" Esquire teases. I reply by reaching into my bag (it's bottomless, if you didn't know) and pulling out two more cloaks: a leaf green one with a scalloped end for Dumpun, and a pale grey with a bright red and gold satin border for Esquire. Dumpun catches his and frowns. "How many cloaks do you have in there?"

I shrug and reach for my bag. "I don't know. Let me check." I put my arm into the bag and feel more cloaks, and reach down even further, counting as the textures reach my fingers. By the time by entire upper body is buried in what appears to be a small leather satchel, I have counted 14 more. Lucy catches the back of my cloak and pulls me out. "Okay, I think that's far enough!" she says.

Esquire is staring at me in amazement. "How deep does that go?" she asks.

"It's bottomless," I say.

I lean back once more against the wall, and Esquire and Dunpun mirror my posture. The four of us lounge there for a while, laughing at the strange looks and double-takes the other CBers give us. I guess they're thinking something like "Why are there four CBers in cloaks leaning against a wall?"

But I don't really know. I'm not a mind reader.

What I do know, however, is that this is a promising start to the ball.

:)

~~~
@Esquire, Dumpun, and Lucy:
I hope I didn't control you too much! I tried to choose a cloak that fits your personality and your appearance in my mind. If you don't like the cloak, you can mention it to me when you post, and I can pull another out of my Bag of Wonders! XD And Lucy, I hope this makes you feel better about coming in cosplay.
I laugh with Starseeker, Dumpun, and Esquire while I watch the song fade out.  I feel like dancing now, too!
"Does anyone know how many songs the jukebox plays?"  I ask, to no one in particular.
"No, but if it's nice, it'll have every song," Starseeker says.
"I'm going to go see if they have Rather Be (Pentatonix)" I say.  "I'll see you 'round!"
I wave at the chorus of "Bye!"'s and "See ya!"'s and trot over to the jukebox.  "Let's see what you got, buddy," I say to the jukebox.  I press the Search button.  I type in Rather Be and look down the line.  I see it, and dig a quarter out of my bag.  I push it in and choose the song.
In the 20 seconds before the song starts, I step out of my boots and put on my pure black tap shoes.  I hurry to an empty spot on the dance floor and go through the first steps in my head as I mave along with the beat.  Heel, step, ballchange, heel, step, ballchange, heel, step, ballchange, stomp, stomp.
People turn and look towards me as the metallic clicks bounce around the room along with the song.
Soon, too soon, the song is over, and I bow, grinning like a madwoman.  I walk back to my boots and change back into them.  My tap shoes have had enough for this hour.
Moi!~
I blare the music through my Beats and then walk into the ball, looking around the room at everyone having a great time.
I desperately look for the DJ table, as music is basically my date, and find one, but it looks as though it hasn't been used in a long while. In fact, the jukebox is the only thing being used, and a Pentatonix song comes on.
I rush through the dance floor and up the DJ table. All of the equipment is new, but the table is dusty as though it has been there for years. Oh well, that's okay.
I blow the dust, but the air conditioning makes it blow back in my face, my eyes closing and my fox ears folding.
I then open my eyes, and the DJ table seems to be lit up, and the lights in the room turn way down and then all of the other LED lights turn on and AHHHHHH THIS IS AMAZING!!!!!
I respectfully wait for the Pentatonix song to end (Rip Avi Kaplan) and then watch as some CBers awkwardly look at each other, waiting for someone else to go put in a song. Now's my moment.
I amp the base and then put my earphones to one ear, listening as the music switches on and I start to mix it.
"Killim is here, this music is fly, you fools!"
Oh gosh, the LoTR references. Eh, whateves.
They love my music, so this party is going to be great.
Moi~
I walk into the ball right as Lucy finishes her tap dance and Killim starts to DJ. I walk over to where Starseeker leans against the wall with Esquire adn Dumpun. I didn't see where Lucy went when she finished her dance and I wanted to talk with her.
"Do you know where Lucy went?" I ask them, lifting my mask a bit.
"No, but you can hang with us until she shows herself." Starseeker says as she gestures to an empty spot of wall beside her. I lean against the wall and settle my mask back on my nose. I find myself getting very thirsty and decide to go get a drink.
"You guys want anything?" I ask before I set out. There is a chorus of no's so I push myself off the wall. As I walk over to the table of drinks and snacks I pass General Waffleson trying to dance with elementgirl. They keep on tripping over each other as they try to keep up with the music Killim is playing at the mment. I snicker and decide to make a short detour on my quest for drinks.
I walk up to the DJ table and say hi to Killim. "Would you mind playing a slow song?" I ask quietly. "General Waffleson and elementgirl seem t obe having a bit of teouble dancing to this." I point to where they are and Killim nods. Satisfied, I smile and walk over to the drink table.
I spot and promptly grab a rootbeer, deftly popping off the cap. I lift the bottle to my mouth and take a swig. I am about to go back over too Starseeker and those guys when I run smack dab into Lucy, spilling rootbeer all over her cosplay. "Oh my Gods! Lucy I'm so sorry! I didn't see you!" I stutter as I grab a paper towel and try to wipe off the spilled liquid. "I'm such a clutz sometimes."
"It's ok," Lucy says calmly.
"No, no. I've ruined your robes. Come on." I grab her arm and lead her back to Starseeker. "Starseeker! We have an emergency."
"What is ist?"
"I may or may not have spilled soda all over Lucy." I say, shoving Lucy in front of me so Starseeker can survey the damage. "You have to have something in that magic bag of yours that can help."
"I might... Let me see..." Starseeker reaches into the bag and pulls out.....
~~~~~~

Couple things:

First: Sorry Lucy for picking on you, I think you are awesome and would never hurt you.

Second: Starseeker, can I abbreviate your name to Star? Because Starseeker takes so long to type out.

Finally: Lucy, I ende where I did incase you wanted to change what you were wearing or leave it the same, so I thought I would let you choose (sorry if that didn't make any sense).
