Hello everyone! Happy pride month! I feel like I come back to this site exactly once a year for Pride whoops,,,
I'm excited for this Pride in particular since, as each year goes by, I feel more and more comfortable coming out to people! It's so nice to feel safe enough to let people know that part of me. I see myself represented in more and more media which is absolutely amazing for me as an aro-ace person and makes me so optimistic for the future!
(By the way, to anyone who might be questioning if they're aro-ace, I highly recommend reading Loveless by Alice Oseman. It's a YA novel that remains one of my favorite books to this day)

Happy Pride month, everyone! I haven't posted on the CB in a few months, but I couldn't miss this thread. Mei-xue, coyotedomino, Leafy — it's so, so great to see (read?) you again.
It's actually my first real pride month. It took me a long time to really become comfortable with my orientation and especially the term "gay" (which I now use quite proudly, I should add). There was this — I dunno — fear of rejection, I guess? Not from my family, who are all very supportive, but from the community at large. I had already been in a situation where people didn't treat me well as an indirect result of my being gay, and I was afraid to try again.
all that to say
If you are an ally (or are LGBTQ yourself), please, please, PLEASE make your voice heard! Put your pronouns in the social media profiles you may or may not have! Be there for your LGBTQ friends when they come out! Stand up for them when there's a risk of their being forced to sit down! I'm happier than I've ever been in my life now that I've accepted my orientation, but not everyone is that fortunate. Together we can do amazing things, but only together <3

Happy Pride Month! As a member as the LGBTQIA+ community I'm really glad this thread exists. Also my bday is in June so I have twice as much fun! I'm gonna go make some pride art now!

Happy Pride Month!! I think that this might be my first offical pride month? The CB has helped me learned about LGBTQ+ indentities.
Over the past three years I've been on the Chatterbox, I've seen this place grow more and more accepting and open and it truly makes me so happy. I don't even know where I'm going with this, but anyway happy Pride!

Happy Pride everyone! The CB helped me learn who I was and it helped me realize I was non-binary! So I will always be very thankful to the CB for that. :)

Hi! I've been talking with a few of my friends here on the CB about the editing of comments mentioning the word "trans" or transgender identity and I wanted to put in my two cents. I get the feeling that the Admins don't agree on what's appropriate and what isn't, because sometimes mentions of transgender identity are removed and sometimes they aren't. May I respectfully suggest that the Admins hold some sort of meeting to discuss this and how they will respond to ALL mentions of transgender identity in the future? I think that everyone, no matter if they're gay, bi, trans, ace, or enby, should be allowed to talk about their personal experience and can do so in a way that is completely appropriate for the Chatterbox.
