Chatterbox: Down to Earth

School's starting aga

School's starting again!!!!!

Yeah... On one hand, I can't wait to get my textbooks (I love textbooks! I'm really weird!) and I like school and all, and I need to be around people again, as I've been really jumpy at noises and I've been talking quite animatedly to book characters, so it will be good for me. On the other hand, I'll have to put up with people. I don't like people. At all. I mean, I have friends, but if I don't get any classes or at least have lunch with any of my friends (for the third year in row, I swear, my school is conspiring against me) I'm going to become a hermit with books. You know, that doesn't seem like an entirely bad deal. My school is just full of jerks. And the only jerk I've had to put up with this summer is Luca (one of my book characters) and I can always threaten him with water chesnuts (he has an irrational fear of water chesnuts). Oh, and there's Claire.... but I digress.

Anyhoo, the point is the first day of school is coming! Tell me all about your first day! I want to laugh! Tell me about everything that happens! And I'll hunt this post down and post about my first day too.

I can never think on how to end a post. I'm terrible at endings. Anyhoo, buh-byez.

Today was Orientation. I got my textbooks (yay!) and my schedule... I actually have a good math teacher this year... Sadly, I didn't get the elective I wanted... Noooooo, I have the school's worst English teacher *sob*. Prepare to die under a mound of essays, me...... I wonder if I have any classes with my friends.....

Top!

You have not met the world's worst English teacher until you have met mine form last year. He assigned one essay every Monday, due on Friday, to "get us in the habit of writing", he said. Oooh, I wish I had a dartboard with his face on it...

So have hope. There are always people who have HIM for a teacher.

So make a dartboard. That's what my sister did for her sixth grade teacher.

I start I think a week from Monday. One more week of freedom!! This year I will be entering the scary world of the high schoolers as a freshman. I'm still not entirely sure what I think of that...

Do not be afraid, young grasshopper :) I speak as a freshman-going-to-be-a-sophomore. High school is the same as middle school, just with more people, smaller desks, and stairs. Oh. And slightly harder homework. But that's the same for everything.

School for me starts tomorrow! Fun times! Since we get our schedules on the first day, I plan to ride my bike so I can get there earlier, therefore, not have to wait a long time.

Yeah. I am homeschooled and start school again on the 20th. Is any one else homeschooled? If so, how do you like it and when did you start homeschool? (I would have said public school, but you could be private schooled.)

@True S.: I'm homeschooled too. I started homeschooling in kindergarten. I don't start school til the begining of September, which is when most of the schools where I live start.

Yaahhh I DON'T WANT TO START HIGH SCHOOL! I mean, my school goes until 9th grade (really weird, I know) and I'll be the top dog, but yech!!! I have to start looking at applying to Prep school and take SSATs and have MOUNTAINS OF HOMEWORK!! I don't start till the tenth...

SATs are just ScanTron tests on steroids. Pay them no heed. Except to take them. Yeah, you need to take them. Just don't cram for them. Things fall out of your head that way.

Like cramming mountains of Tupperware into a cupboard at once.

@ True S:

I'm homeschooled! I'm starting in a few weeks too, although I recently bought about a million pens and notebooks (combined) for my writing, so I feel marginally like a back-to-school-er.
