TYPEWRITERS!!!

TYPEWRITERS!!!

TYPEWRITERS!!!

Does anyone else find them as awesome as I do? Currently, we just got ours repaired and know everyday I'm up there typing away at my book, which means my diary has been sorely neglected.

Oh, and if anyone cares, our typewriter is a Remington. I LOVE it, but it IS annoying that the '1' is a lowercase 'l' and to make an '!' you have to a period, then backspace and put a hyphen over it. Still, I love it!!!

I would love a typewriter! Even though my Mom says they were a pain in the 80s and wishes they had computers. I especially like the antique ones. At my library, there are typewriters you can use with the modern computer keys, like DELL computer keys. I think you have to pay or something. I don't know for sure. Still cool!

@Choco and Moss

A great place to try to find typewriters is antique stores. Ask them if they know any one who repairs or sells typwriters- they may be able to help you find even a newer one. Just keep you eys open and hopfully you'll find one!

Ebay may also have some- just don't go paying a ton for them:)

I got a typewriter a few years ago for my birthday, and though I don't write on it all that much, when I write letters to my family I always use it. The main problem with it is that I type really fast and when I occastionally make mistakes you can't go back and erase. But they're really fun; it's old-fashioned in a chic kind of way. :)

I think the one I have is an Olivetti.

I think they're awesome too, but I don't actually HAVE one. I really really would love one, though! And pocket watches are another old-timey thing I want but don't have. Pocket watches are awesome! I actually might tell the time better with a pocket watch because I don't like having a strap around my wrist with a wristwatch....

@ CaptainRead

We don't actually HAVE a pocket watch, but we do have one of those old-fachioned ones with the really cool strching wristbands- you know, the one made out of metal. Its AWESOME, but unfourtunely it doesn't work. I REALLY want to get it repaired.....mainly because the watch I have know it pink and has butterflies:)

I have a pocket watch! It's an owl that opens up its wings. I've seemed to have misplaced it unfortunately. Probably upstate at my vacation house.

Yup :) I got it last year. We had to paint it and everything during the summer. It was worth it, though. It's a great retreat and I love to use to climb random trees, read, write, and do archery. It's a lot less crowded than it is here in Nanuet, and that's why it's a nice place to be.

This might sound kind of weird, but how far away is this summer house of which you speak?  Because where I live is kind of a summer house like area to Nanuet (well, more specifically, NYC, but that kind of area.)

It's a small place called Franklin with a small population. It's an hour or two away from Woodstock where you are I think. Cool :D I went near Woodstock, I think, to Bethel Woods in the summer to see Yo Yo Ma. It would be so cool if we passed each other at one point hmm...

Haha yes ;) I'm going to be in Bethel Woods in August for the Jimmy Buffet concert so maybe we could somehow see each other coincidentally or something.

I have a typewriter, and I like it, even though I usually don't write fiction on it.  I wrote a book report once on it, which was really fun, even though I had to go back over with whiteout after.  I don't know what kind mine is, but it's green, which is really cool.
