WHAT DOES YOUR

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

WHAT DOES YOUR

WHAT DOES YOUR BEDROOM LOOK LIKE?

I've always wondered what CBer's bedrooms looked like. I mean, is it artsy? Is it simple? Is it glittery? I don't know.

My room looks like this...

Walls: painted yellow, with a design I cut out of magazines, which is a bunch of animals arranged into a heart, and also a Despicable Me minion cut-out leaning against the wall, plus an easel next to it, which is a chalkboard on one side and a whiteboard on the other.

Floor: hardwood

Bed: lavender bedspread with this floral design, two plain white pillows topped with a bumblebee pillow pet and then my favorite pillow, which is black and white with this gorgeous Chinese painting on it, along with a little Despicable Me minion stuffed animal in front of the pillows

Dressertop: a hot pink piggy bank that says "SHOE FUND," and next to that, this glass stand with perfumes, makeup, lotions, nail files, etc., and next to that, a ceramic owl painted gold with a cupcake-shaped dish that holds a bunch of loose change that I have nowhere to put, and lastly, my rubber ducky collection.

Shelves: a little white shelving unit with, on the first cubby-thing, my microscope (which is real and so so so cool since I love biology), and then the second one, all of my favorite books, such as HP, PJO, TFiOS, The Mysterious Benedict Society, Seekers, Little House, etc., and then the one below that has all of my books I have yet to read, and then the last cubby-thing holds my notebooks, like my science journal, my planner, and my prayer book.

Other: I have a keyboard in the corner of the room, with a modern-style white chair next to it, and also a spinny black chair in front of a section with my hair dryer, hair brushes, mirror, etc.

My Favorite Part of My Room: the white chandelier! It is so pretty. It's crystal-like and it has lavender light bulbs!

My room is really small, though...

I'm trying to get spring colors incorporated into it to make it happier, like the yellow and lavender.

This is such a cool idea! I would say that my room is kind of French vintage.

Walls: Painted sage green. On one wall is my bulliten board and my calendar. Another wall has three paintings: a big one in the center of some mountains (it's actually the view from my grandma's house), and two smaller ones of the castle that they filmed Merlin in. (I just happened to find them at my grandpa's, and freaked out!) On the wall behind my closet door I have all my old pointe shoes hanging.

Floor: Hardwood, with a little floral rug at the foot of my bed.

Bed: A floral bedspread, with kind of salmon/pink colored tiny flowers, and vine like-leaves that match my walls. Two big striped pillows, two regular sized pillows that match the bedspread, and a little red one with white embroidery.

Dresser top:  I just got a new dresser from our neighbor who is moving and didn't want it. It's cream colored, and has a oval mirror at the top, with a bunch of ornate designs around it. On the counter I have I picture of me and my cousin Dane when we were little, an old fashioned iron, three round, floral, boxes with my jewelry inside, a dark pink glass dish with my lipbalm in it, a little black and white painting of a castle, and really a cool rose lemonade bottle that I put flowers in sometimes.

Shelves: I have two shelves in my room, both are white and my dad made them. One has doors on the bottom, where I shove the stuff that I don't know where to put. The top has glass doors. The bottom shelf behind the glass has my Harry Potter books, and all my classics. The other two shelves have all my teasets, and other trinkets. My other shelf is a bookcase. On top it has my dolls from when I was little. The other shelves are books, with a few trinkets.

Other:  Next to my dresser is a basket that I put my ballet bag in. Next to my bed is a little table with an embroidered cloth on it and a jar of seashells and seaglass I've collected.

My favorite part of my room is probably my bookshelf.

Oh my gosh, pictures of the castle Merlin was filmed in?! That's awesome! I'd die for pictures like that.

Well, right now, my bedroom is my parent's room, because I sleep in there. And I have a desk in the room next door, with my computer on it and my bag of books under it. All my sketchbooks and notebooks and other random junk is kept neatly in cardboard boxes under my clothes drawers (I have three small ones and a bit of hanging space) in my parent's room. And my school books are kept in a backpack under my mom's desk. Everything is very temporay, since our house is close to being finished.

But I will have my very own room. Or really, my sister's and my very own room, since we're gonna share it. But it has to get finished. So I'll describe what we're planning it to look like.

Walls: Hardwood that I spent weeks rubbing oil and sandpapering. We're probably going to cover it in posters and pictures, though. There's a window on one wall, and there's goign to be shelves next to it, probably with the computer on them. The moniters (two, since it's both my sister's and my room) mounted to the wall below the shelves. And lots of bin-sized shelves above head-level for storage.

Floor: Plastic imitation wood-stuff that we have yet to put in.

Beds: Well, mattresses with our regular assortment of blankets and fitted bedsheets on them. They go away in the day, tucked behind the window. We take them out at night and lay them side-by-side on the floor.

Dressers: Well, I'm not sure if we're getting any. I mean, our room is really quite tiny. For now, we keep out clothes in our parent's room, so I think it'll stay like that. Otherwise, we have the closet.

Shelves: Lots and lots of shelves, for everything.

Desks: Dark wood desk that we can put beneath the moniters in the day-time and roll where our beds usually are at night, to make room for sleeping.

So, Nora, I bet you have a bigger room then I will. xD And that's yours, not yours and your sister's. I've been wanting my own room since I was little and this is the best I'm gonna get, probably. I'm happy, though, really happy.

I actually do share my room with my little sister...xD

Did I mention that?

Um...oops...?

We have bunk beds, so I described mine already, but hers is just two white pillows and a hot pink blanket.

OMG...Ozzie says "aaah."

Yes, that is the correct response to our room sometimes when we don't clean it.

*aka, train wreck*

I'll have to post in the morning or later because I have to study for a math test... prisms, surface area, and their volumes :P

My walls and ceiling are all pink, although different shades, the darkest being the ceiling (which also has glow in the dark stars) and two light shades on my walls. (Thank goodness my family didn't let me pick the shade. It would have been blinding.)

My floor is a soft carpet, kind of beige.

My room is a rectangle, and if you enter through the door on your righthand side there is my bed in the corner. It has a few stuffed animals and a big blue comforter.

Next to that you have my nightstand, which is all white and fairy-y and another table with my fan and assorted junk on it. Then you have my big dollhouse which is crammed with books into a make-shift bookshelf.

Other then that, I have a white dresser with a mirror that has all my hats and accsessories on it, my closet has all my dresses hanging in it and a big purple beanbag that leaves the doors perpetually open, a white desk with my art supplies on it, a table with a lot of assorted junk on it that used to be for a toy train.

My posters are of butterflies, Totoro, MLP, Doctor Who and a BtVS calender.

Now multiply that x mess 1000

What does my bedroom look like? Uh, a mess? I'm normally pretty fastidious, but apparently that doesn't spread to my room.

Walls: They're white. Exciting, eh? No posters, although I planned to put up a Periodic Table a few years ago. I guess I never got around to doing it.

Floor: It's hardwood, but I have a rug. The rug was once white, but now it's speckled with lots of little red fuzzies from a blanket I have (they get everywhere- all around the house, in the car, on the cats, in my sister's house in SoCal, etc. etc.). Not too much interesting here.

Bed: The bed is white (except for a couple pink spots where the almighty blanket did what it does best) and made out of wood. I have a lot of blankets on because I can't go to sleep without blankets, no matter how hot it is. Presently, there are two pillows, (I think I was three or four when my breathing was so bad I had to be propped up at night to breathe. Now I just use them out of habit) a red quilt thingy, the Blanket, and dinosaur sheets. Like a five-year old, huh?

Dresser: Yeesh, this is a mess. There's not very many interesting things on it. Some pen packages. A money bank. The Sugarbowl. Some video games. One of my hearts- or is that on my desk now? Eh, I think I lost it. I'll find it again soon. Dresser junk. Nothing too interesting here.

Shelves: My poor bookshelves died several years ago. I have a lot of bins... I stuff things in the bins. I have a lot of stuffed animals and some old toys that I never got rid of. They are all just piled higgledy-piggeldy in the bins.

Other: The desk is a horror. Its pride and joy is an old omputer--turning 16 in just a few months. I have a stool that is currently laden with textbooks, papers I need to study for my finals, and the Inheritance series box set. My closet holds the vacuum and some clothes I last wore when I was about four. Oh! I have a little... hmm, what is it? A wardrobe, maybe? My father made it for me for my fourth birthday. I didn't really like it then (come on, what four-year old wants furniture for their birthday? It's all about dinosaurs and Bionicles!), but it's kind of cool, I guess. The handles to open it are a spoon and a fork. It's all different weird colors and I store my sheets and my shoes in there. Well, I have a pair I wear everyday, a pair of tennis shoes for labs, (you have to wear closed-toed shoes. I normally wear Keen sandles which are close enough to fly under the radar, but the Chem teacher is a little strict) and a whole bunch of old shoes that I never got rid of.

My Favorite Part: I don't know. I don't really spend much time in my room. I guess I would say the Blanket is the best part. I'm not allowed to take it out of the room because of my mom's eternal battle with the fuzzies, but I take it out anyway when I'm sick. I don't know how that thing can shed like a cat and still manage to shock me ten thousand times whenever I put it in the dryer. I've had it for a long time, too.

My bedroom is such a mess of... well, everything, that I think it would take a really long time to describe it.

I will say that my room is relatively small (compared to others' rooms I've seen). So we have to incorporate the ceiling space as well as the wall/floor space (e.g., build a bookshelf that's tall instead of wide).

I wanna paint it green like a dragon!

'Cuz my counterpart is a dragon.

I feel like he would approve.

My bedroom currently, and usually, looks like a cyclone hit it, but here's how it's supposed to look:

Walls: Bright yellow with white trimming (I love the look). I have a bunch of things taped/stuck to the door and walls, along with my John Sloane calender (I ADORE his work, it's beautiful!)

Floor: What little you can see is carpet. What color, I dunno. It might have used to been white, or cream. Now it's sort of beige.

Dresser: Is a deep green that accents the yellow well and holds my mismatched odd articles of fabric I call clothing. On top I have a TON: A small tv & dvd player, my Merida doll & accessories, Anne Shirley doll, Anna & Elsa dolls, Tinkerbell & Rosetta pirate fairy dolls, a small porcelain jewelry box with a unicorn stars that I painted, another tiny porcelain jewelry holder with a small rabbit on it, and a ton of other random junk. And no, my dresser is not very big AT ALL. The TV takes up most of it. How I fit so much is a wonder. I also have a closet with pink and purple curtains instead of doors, and houses more junk than clothing.

Above my dresser: On the wall, I have a very old, falling apart white fairy wand I've had as long as I can remember, an old fashioned skate on a pink string, and a Civil War era style royal blue fan. I also have a Grace Unplugged poster and a Book Thief poster.

Shelving: A white shelf with three Madame Alexander dolls, Molly American Girl doll, two Indian dolls, a music player of a little girl sitting beside a Christmas tree, a Precious Moments fairy girl, and a Barbie on a bike. (Can you tell I'm a fanatic about doll collecting?)

Bed: Blonde wood (how ironic), with a warm quilt type coverlet that looks like it belongs in a cabin (I love it). Above I have several pictures, including: my certificate from my first ever Camp Nano, a news article clipping, and two Disney Robin Hood pictures.

Other: I have a wire wrack to hold even MORE junk, notebooks, sketchbooks, and diaries, and bench that holds a TON of American Girl things I've collected. I also have fushia curtains that somehow blend in with the room. I also have Christmas lights draped above the bed. Above the window, I have two Anne Shirley hats on either side of the window, with artificial autumn leaves draped in between. I also have, like, fifteen posters outside my door. Yeah, as soon as you see it, you know it's my room.

So, my bedroom fits my personality. Odd, loud, junky, and random with a slightly old fashioned look.

@BHR: Don't feel too bad. My room is probably worse than yours:)

Walls: Green and blue with animals on them (my mom painted it; I've never had the heart to take it off), with a kitten calandar on it. (I love, love, love, love, love cats. I currently have one). Oh, but my wall is covered in pen marks from when I was about 3 or 4 and my freind convinced me it was alright to draw on the walls in pen. Which is exactly why I have about a milllion drawings taped onto my wall.

Floor: Well, it's white carpet, but it's covered in clothes and thhings that are unknown to the world. Plus a lot of random stuff. I'm the exact definition of a packrat.

Dresser: I have two, ones in my very small closet, and covered with the clothes I''m supposed to hang up but never do, and the other one has my lamp, two small plywood boxes (I cann't even remember where those came from) full of fairy stuff (I was obsessed with fairies when I was younger) and stuff I made a long time ago. Oh, and another box that's supposed to hold olive oil or something like that, but ended up holding my Rainbow Loom stuff, and a teeny tiny plastic box that holds clothes I made for the one doll I had in my entire life (yes, one, I was a very odd anklebiter. Just don't ask what I did instead of playing with them) two glasses cases (I collect them, you could say) a spare duct tape braclet my freind made for me, another Rainbow Loom bracelet my freind made for me, an empty can of juice, a ripped envelope, a how to draw a horse printout, and an old plastic braclet. It's hard for me tdo comprehend how much I fit on there. Seriously. And did I mention that my lamp has headbands and hairbands hanging from it that I nver use?

Above my dresser: Nothing.

Shelving: I have two tiny butterfly shelves that are a fwe feet off the ground; they both hold piggy banks. That's about it, unless you want to go into detail about my ridiculous amount of bookshelves and what they hold. I think I'm  gonna put that under Other. Should I?

Bed: Currently extremely messy, but if it were neat, there would be flowered sheets with a dark brown background that I love, a white comforter, and a few other fuzzy blankets, four pillows (I'm a pillow fanatic), and the few stuffed cats I decided tjo keep. Only, like, five. I used to have over twenty. Somehow my mom convinced me to give msot of them away. Now I want them back. Oh, and my bed frame is made of a lighter wood.

Other: I have five bookshelves, one of which is taller than me, four of which are about half my size. They all hold books (Yes, books! Books! Books! I love my bedroom!) except for the tall one, which is does not only hold books but all sorts of random junk, a leaking snowglobe, a hommade paper bowl, a kind of very tiny vase that is supposedly form Greece, two owl necklaces which both do not have a case, three cat necklacews, two of which have a case, and one cat bracelet. The necklaces that do not have a case simply go into an old terracotta bowl tha tis on top of one of my stacks of books. There is also a minature bust of Nefertiti, and another minature bust of bast, both flanking some tiny fake furinture with some tiny fake cats that do not come with it on top. I also have an old Valentine, some nail polish that I have used... never, a cat bowl, some Chuck. E. cheese cards with pictures of me on them, an old badge, Greek cards, an eraser, a small jar of beads, and probably a bit more. See why I'm called the packrat? Oh and a small metal things that's supposed to hold CDs but instead holds (or tries) a few books.

My favorite part of my room: My bookshelf. No question. My bookshelf is what you might call my baby.

************

So nobody deserves to read my long and detailed description of my room, so you don't have to. Probably best that you don't. I'm not going to re-read this post, like I sometimes do with some others, because I know I forgot stuff. Like my desk. And my chair. And my other kind-of-but-not-really-chair-because-the-bottom-is-a-pillow-and-the-top-is-a-massage-chair-that-is-broken-chair. You really don't deserve that.

On that happy note, I''m going to end this post

Walls: The sunflower yellow with a colorful striped wallpaper going around the perimeter. There is a shelf right with picture frames, pointe shoes and little figurines. I also have a feathery Mardi Gras mask on one of the walls. I have a few ballet pictures up and a few hooks for scarves, purse/bags and sweaters.

Floor: It's hardwood, but I have a striped rug on the floor between my bed and desk. Near my door, I have a small yellow flower rug that sits under a little rocking chair. There's a small pile of books stacked in the corner because I don't have room anywhere else for them.

Bed: It's light brown and it has shelves attached to the head of it. The top shelf has my lamp, clock, snowglobe, glass elephant, and jewelry box. The left shelf under the top shelf has books, and so does the right shelf under the top shelf. The middle shelves have baskets full of different things. The comforter of my bed is reversable. It can either be pink or purple. I also have two pillows, a cat pillow, and two giant stuffed bunnies.

Dresser: I don't have a dresser. My drawers are under my bed, and I have three of them. The rest of my clothes are stuffed into my incredibly tiny closet (can you even call it a closet?)

Desk: I have a small white desk with a mirror on it. On the left hand side of the desk I have a cup full of pens, pencils and erasers. I also have some lotion. On the right hand side, I have a earring holder. Right next to my desk, I have a short shelf that houses my art supplies, papers and random things.

Shelves: I have my art shelf and a book shelf.

Other: I have a white window bench that's really comfy to sit on. In one of the corners of my room, I have a very, very big red rose from a ballet. My room is also very, very small.

My Favorite Part: I'd have to say that I actually like the smallness of my room. It's cozy, especially in the winter time and, I don't know, I just like it. Other than that, I really like the window bench; it's an awesome place to read.

Walls: Two of my walls are white, and the other two a cotton blue. The blue walls are covered, mostly anyway, with book posters like Warriors and The Search For Wondla. And writing related things and Doctor Who... soon Sherlock and The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland among other things :)

Floor: Gray carpet.

Bed: Queen size bed, but it feels small, probably just me though. The blanket is a cotton blue same as the walls with a nice pattern of cottons. Oh cotton...

Dressertop: I have K and G blocks for my initials and a fake book used to hide things that looks like Vincent Van Gogh's Lost Journal with Starry Night.

Shelves: One near my bed, dark maple I think, with a flowery clock and a Dalek. Also a flashlight and a figurine of Randall Boggs. *daydreams* Where was I?

Other: I have a bookcase filling up with books on the second shelf, and on the first shelf I have some books too, but mostly a hawk feather, bookmarks, and two Hummels (or however you spell it since it's German). One is an owl from my German neighbors and one is of a boy and girl from my Grandma in traditional German clothes. Pretty coolio.

My Favorite Part of My Room:

Well, I have to say my favorite part would be my fake firefly leaf lights. You turn them on, and they glow like real fireflies! I need new batteries though...
