Fandoms Q&A

Hi. It's obvious what this is. Right? If it's not obvious, it will be. Right?

Sorry if that sounded rude but I'm grumpy and really don't feel like typing up written descriptions of stuff right now. Anyone may add questions to sections or whole new sections altogether.

1. Are you a fan of Doctor Who? (If so go ahead and answer the next questions, otherwise answer no skip this section.

1a. Were you sad when Matt Smith left?

1b. Do you like the Twelfth Doctor from what we've seen of him?

1c. Do you believe the rumors about the Master returning in the next season?

1d. Do you want the Master to return, and, if so, when?

1e. What do you think will happen in the next season?

1f. Now for the basics: Favorite Doctor?

1g. Favorite companion?

1h. Favorite monster/villain?

1i. Favorite episode?

1j. Favorite print-based story (comics or written word)?

1i. Other thoughts?

2. Are you a fan of Star Trek? (Same deal.)

2a. Do you like the original series, TNG, DS9, the JJ Abrams movies, or all of the above, and why? Which of them do you dislike? Why?

2b. Who is your favorite protagonist?

2c. Favorite antagonist?

2d. Favorite episode of any of the shows, movies, or other screen-based Star Trek media?

2e. Favorite print-based (comics or written word) Star Trek media?

2f. Other thoughts?

3. Are you a fan of Star Wars?

3a. Are you looking forward to Episode VII? Any thoughts about the casting or other announcements regarding it?

3b. Favorite protagonist?

3c. Favorite antagonist?

3d. Favorite movie (one of the six episodes please, the Clone Wars movie or other DTV ones not applicable)?

3e. Did you love or loathe the prequels?

3f. Other thoughts?

4. Are you a fan of the Marvel Universe?

4a. Do you read the comics, watch the movies, or both?

4b. How do you feel about the upcoming movies (Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Men: Apocalypse, Spider-Man spinoffs, etc.)?

4c. Favorite superhero?

4d. Favorite baddie?

4e. Other thoughts?

5. Do you belong to any other fandoms? (Once again, you can also add a whole new section for your fandom, or add questions to the existing sets.)

My answers.

1. Yes

1a. No.

1b. Yes. I love Capaldi's costume and his attitude.

1c. Not sure. But I want to.

1d. Yes, and I want him to come back NOW or at least as soon as possible. Steven Moffat didn't insult him, just worries that maybe he's a little too cartoony and is feeling like "if you have a good idea, bring it" so I think it's fairly plausible.

1e. The Doctor will bring back Gallifrey from the Time War, safely, allowing for more Time Lords to be on the show. If this happens it will open up a slew of possible reintroductions, of perhaps Romana, the Rani, Rassilon, the Master, the Meddling Monk, etc.

1f. 9 and 10

1g. Clara

1h. Daleks and Master

1i. Gee! I dunno. The Doctor's Wife? Tomb of the Cybermen? Genesis of the Daleks? Who knows? I do have a fair share  of ones I really like though.

1j. Gareth Roberts' novelization of Shada, a Fourth Doctor serial which was abandoned due to a strike at the BBC.

1i. Season 8 will be awesome.

2. A little bit. I thought I'd include it as it's a popular fandom.

2a. I like the JJA movies. They're pretty much all I've seen except for a tiny bit of the original series.

2b. I don't know. Spock? Nah...

2c. Khan, as portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch.

2d. Star Trek Into Darkness

2e. None. I've got to read that Doctor Who/ST crossover...

2f. No, not a big fan of it. But maybe I will be, someday.

3. Yes.

3a. Looking forward indeed. Glad the original actors (Hamill, Fisher, Ford) are returning, and the new cast looks great. JJ seems like the perfect guy to tackle it so I'm glad he's doing it.

3b. Han Solo all the way...

3c. Gah. Darth Maul? I guess. He looks cool.

3d. Empire Strikes Back

3e. Prequels are interesting... but boring. They make for good fan food but are horrible as movies.

3f. Well, it will be pretty awesome when Star Wars is truly reborn next year.

4. Yes.

4a. Mostly movies, some of the comics.

4b. Guardians of Galaxy looks awesome. I don't know about those Spider-Man spinoffs... and I can't say about Apocalypse, but Days of Future Past was AWESOME

4c. Either Iron Man or Spidey.

4d. Loki? No. Electro? Maybe. Loki? YES!

4e. Ultron is a robot made by Hank Pim (aka Ant Man). The next Avengers movie is called Age of Ultron. They're making an Ant-Man movie. I see where they're going with this...

5. Yes. Sherlock, Portal (but not Half-Life), Muppets, Oz, etc. Long list...

So now you guys can answer and/or add questions.

6. Are you a fan of Percy Jackson?

Of course! Huge fangirl of it.

6a. Do you like the Heroes of Olympus series?

My thoughts on this series has been stated before, but no, not really.

6b. Who is your favorite character?

This is hard, but Annabeth ranks slightly higher above everyone else. (Though Tyson, Clarisse, Thalia and Percy all tie for a very close second.)

6c. Least favorite? (this goes for the seven half-bloods, as well as others)

Nico (Though I don't really like Jason, Piper, Hazel, or Frank either, since they don't add that much to the story in my opinion.)

6d. Favorite book in the original series?

Again, really hard. The Last Olypian wins I think. (Though I also love The Lightning Thief.)

6e. Favorite in Heroes of Olympus?

I dunno. The Lost Hero? The Mark of Athena? One of those two

6f. Are you excited for the Blood of Olympus?

Somewhat.

6g. Who do you predict will die in the Blood of Olympus?

Hmm, maybe Frank or Leo. Though I think somebody else, like Piper, would make an interesting twist.

6h. Thoughts?

Well so far, I'm a little disappointed with the BoO cover. People know my viewpoint of HoH. If Percy and Jason become the bridges between the two camps by Percy going to New Rome and Jason going to Camp Half-Blood, then I'm going to be royally ticked. My hopes are rising a bit for BoO though, and I am curious how the series ends. Though, PJO will always be my favorite, and will have a very special place in my fandom heart.

Not a Firefly fan, but I want to watch it.

Ok! PJO quiz...

6. Obviously.

6a. Yes. It's pretty good, but I kind of wish Dr. Riordan would start writing about something besides mythology in modern worlds.

6b. Annabeth? Idk...

6c. Um... um... um...

6d. Probably Last Olympian.

6e. House of Hades. OMG, IT IS SUPREMELY SHOCKING.

6f. Yeah I think so.

6g. Frank.

6h. n/a

And a Harry Potter quiz...

7. Are you a fan of Harry Potter?

Yes. I miss Harry and company so much...

7a. Who is your favorite protagonist?

I don't know. Ron? Luna? Fred and George? Harry himself?

7b. Who is your favorite antagonist?

UMBRIDGE FOREVER

7c. Which of the books is your favorite?

UMBRIDGE FOREVER

7d. Are you looking forward to the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie?

UMBRIDGE FOREVER

Sorry. 7c is either Order of the Pheonix or Goblet of Fire. 7d: DUH

7e. Which is your favorite movie?

Either Prisoner of Azkaban or Sorcerer's Stone. Not sure.

7f. If you could pick a spell from the books to be able to use for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Summoning Charm. Always losing stuff... and so are some other people I know.

7g. Which death made you the saddest?

OMG NO FRED NOOOOOOOOOOOO

7h. Are you on Pottermore?

Yes. But I haven't been on a lot lately. I'll be back on more often sometime soon...

7i. Thoughts?

Rewatched Order of the Phoenix in bed the other night.

7. Of course!!

7a. I have no idea. Hermione? Neville? Harry? Sirius? *sniffles at the name*

7b. Although I hate her probably Bellatrix.

7c. Hmm... also a toughie. I liked them all, really. But I guess The Deathly Hallows.

7d. HECK YEAH

7e. The Prisoner of Azkaban, I think.

7f. Oh um... the Animagus spell.

7g. The saddest? Nearly all the deaths made me cry! Ok I shall pick SIRIUS AND FRED BECAUSE OH MY GOSH THE FEELS

7h. Yep. I haven't been on lately and have been choosing the CB and NaNo over it, though I have internet friends on there too. Plus I'm a Ravenclaw :D I used to have thousands of points, but it's a little too addicting at times.

7i. I really want to go to the new Diagon Alley in Harry Potter World soon!! I most likely will not because expensiveness and a certain someone thinks all of a sudden that Harry-is-oh-so-devil. Sigh. It's not like that though, no matter Draco's name and Azkaban's name. Harry Potter is about how magic isn't really bad and friendships being tested- rantity rant.

7. Yessss, precioussss...(I'm aware this isn't LotR. Just had to do that.) I love Harry Potter!

7a. Luna Lovegood

7b. Hmmm... I love to hate Bellatrix, but I really, truly do hate her. Maybe Malfoy or Umbridge.

7c. Goblet of Fire

7d. YES

7e. Prisoner of Azkaban

7f. I don't know. If there was some spell to fly... The summoning charm would be really useful, though. I lose things often too.

7g. FREEEEEEDDD Cry  If I ever have four sons (or four cats), I'm naming them Fred, Bob, Gus, and Rudy, so I can see who cries.

7h. Yes. Not often lately though. My username is OwlLight4305.

7i. I have read the series 11 times! Only seen all the movies about twice though.

Also, funny: the code I have to type in to prove I'm not a computer is d a d a on this comment. Defense Against the Dark Arts :)

6. Sure I am!

6a. Not as much as the original series. I miss Percy's witty narration most of all.

6b. Annabeth and Thalia, though everyone makes me laugh.

6c. Jason. He's too perfect poster-boy for me. Piper too, but at least her voice seems a little more authentic.

6d. The Titan's Curse and The Last Olympian, because a MC dies in both. I couldn't chose between them if you made me.

6e. The Lost Hero, probably. It felt a little like all downhill from there, though Mark of Athena was okay.

6f. Yes, so we can get this series over with.

6g. I really don't know. I hope Jason will because I can't stand him, but it'll hurt so much more if it's Frank or Leo.

6h. @ Ivy: I don't know if there will be any chance for an epilogue with Percabeth; from what I've read, epilogues are anathema to RR. It would be really fun though!

6. Kinda.

6a. Yeah.

6b. Um...either Piper, Annabeth, or Leo. Also Nico.

6c. uMMM... Reyna... NO! Octavion. Evil, evil little brat that he is.

6d. Can't say. I haven't read them since 5th grade.

6e. Mark of Athena. The first two books had altogether too much memory loss, and House of Hades...bleh.

6f. I want to see how it ends.

6g. I don't know. I just don't want them to kill Nico. He's my angst-filled favorite.

6h. The BoO cover sucks.

(July 4, 2014 - 3:00 pm)

6. I sure am a fan :)

6a. It's ok... I like some of the new characters, and Camp Jupiter's cool.

6b. (Predictably) Annabeth. Though I like Hazel too.

6c. Least favorite of the seven is Jason, because he's boring, but my least favorite overall is actually Mr. D.

6d. Battle of the Labyrinth.

6e. Um... The Lost Hero.

6f.YESSSSS GAH I CAN'T WAAAIT

6g. I'm pretty sure it will be Nico.

6h. The "ancient gods in modern times" idea is really good and creative, but with 3 series and another to come, Rick Riordan has kinda overdone it. Also, I've tried the Kane Chronicles, and didn't really like them. I think Egyptian mythology is really cool, so I don't know why. Anyone with me?

Harry POtter

7. Are you a fan of Harry Potter?

HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!! *wipes tears from eyes* Yes, you could say that.

7a. Who is your favorite protagonist?

This is just cruel! Harry? Hermione? Luna? Ginny? Fred and George?

7b. Who is your favorite antagonist?

BELLATRIX!

7c. Which of the books is your favorite?

The Deathly Hallows!

7d. Are you looking forward to the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie?

I guess so...

7e. Which is your favorite movie?

Prisoner of Azkaban

7f. If you could pick a spell from the books to be able to use for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Accio! Because I'm constantly losing things.

7g. Which death made you the saddest?

FRED! DOBBY! *Sobs*

7h. Are you on Pottermore?

Yep, but I only go on when there's new content.

7i. Thoughts?

I love Harry Potter. I'm kind of obsessed.

submitted by Ivy
(June 24, 2014 - 9:30 pm)

Okay!

7. Mm-hmm.

7a.I don't know...Luna, Neville, Hermione...

7b. Hmm, Delores Umbridge is a great character, Bellatrix is awesome...but I'm gonna have to go with Draco.

7c. Um, I don't know? Five or Seven maybe? Or you know, One, Two, Three, Four, or Six...

7d. Meh, not really.

7e. Chamber of Secrets

7f. The teleporting thing would be quite usefull.

7g. Sirius, Tonks, Lupin, Dobby, I DON'T DO WELL WITH DECISIONS OKAY

7h. No

7i. I've thought about houses a lot...I feel like Slytherins and Hufflepuffs get a bad rap. Like, ambition doesn't make you evil. I think Slytherin would actually have some pretty cool people, especially after the war. As for Hufflepuff, Hufflepuffs are awesome. They're the house that thought, "We're brave, smart, and ambitious, but kindness is what counts". I feel like they would continually do the most good and just not take credit. I don't know which house I'm in, though.

7. Are you a fan of Harry Potter?

Yes. Yes absolutely. One of my original really big fandoms.

7a. Who is your favorite protagonist?

Hmm. Luna, Fred, and George.

7b. Who is your favorite antagonist?

Umbridge. The whole Harry Potter fandom's mutual hatred for Umbridge is one of my favorite things.

7c. Which of the books is your favorite?

Ooh, hard. I think The Goblet of Fire.

7d. Are you looking forward to the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie?

Yes, though I have yet to read it.

7e. Which is your favorite movie?

Again, hard. I think The Sorcerer's Stone. I like them all when they were little. They were cute.

7f. If you could pick a spell from the books to be able to use for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Ooh gosh oh gosh!  I think like Joe, the summoning one. I'm terrible at keeping up with my stuff.

7g. Which death made you the saddest?

FRED. Oh my gosh I cried and cried! Wait, there was Dobby! And Lupin and Tonks, and... OHMYGOSH DON'T ASK ME! *runs off bawling*

7h. Are you on Pottermore?

No. Haven't really thought much about getting on.

7i. Thoughts?

I will always love Harry Potter. I believe in Hogwarts, and because of that, Harry Potter will never be gone. Hogwarts will always be there to welcome us home. In years to come, to quote Alan Rickman: "When I'm 80 years old and sitting in my rocking chair, I'll be reading Harry Potter. And my family will say to me, 'After all this time?' And I will say, 'Always.'" (I cried when I read that. It's so perfect.)

7. HP was the first fandom I ever joined (at age 7, I might add.)

7a. Luna, Fred and George.

7b. Umbridge. She made me laugh.

7c. The Prisoner of Azkaban.

7d. YES. The Wizarding World in the '20s?? HECK YEAH.

7e.  Goblet of Fire, or Order of the Phoenix.

7f. The summoning one.

7g. Dobby.

7h. No.

7i. Dumbledore is actually really awful, and Alan Rickman is fantastic. To be honest, my Latin teacher has a similar voice to Alan Rickman, except he isn't British. He's Southern. :p

Is anyone WhoLocked (fan of both Doctor Who and Sherlock)? Does anyone want to see a Doctor Who and Sherlock crossover, in the form of a TV production or a comic book or something? I think it would work good as a comic book.

I'd make a Q&A about it, but I'm not doing that so as to be considerate to the Admin, who would have to stop and review it, therefore taking away time and energy from the IC. I'm sure he/she/it appreciates that.
