So what do you think of the word Nerd?
Do you prefer Geek, or insist, like my mother, that nerds rule the world? that is, after our uniiqueness is conitinously attempeed to be stifled?

I like being called a nerd, I take it as a compliment, and I self-identify as such.
However.
I don't like it when people say that "all nerds have to have braces and glasses." No. "You can't be a nerd if you're not Asian." No. It's not true. Just call people what they want to be called, okay? And don't stereotype.

I hate the word "geek" because to me it sounds like some sort of poison. So I don't use it. But I think "nerd" is okay, if you call yourself that. It's like if you make a mistake and you call ourself stupid, it's okay, but if someone else says it it's not okay. I agree with you, Mei (that's your name right? I'm getting confused with all these cool complicated Asian names!), especially since you mentioned Taylor Swift, you shouldn't be called nerd or geek based on what country you're from. I guess it's okay to label people if it's in a good way, like.... I don't know, labeling someone as funny or nice, but sometimes "nerd" can have negative connotations... It depends on how you look at it. I can see both sides of the arguement.

Mei's real name is Leaf of Love but she's recently been going under a number of very confusing Asian names.
Hallia says diee. Hallia! How darest thou! Dost thou wish to smite me? Well, I shall smite thee in turn! Oho! Well there's my bit of Old English. Call me a nerd if you like, whatever. I'm still a little miffed that Hallia wants me to die, though...

Well.... I really have nothing against the word "Nerd" or "Geek" but then again, I've never been called a nerd, four eyes, or any other mean name. But I'm homeschooled, so I've never met a bully in my life. I've met annoying people, but no mean guys. I think that I'm... like.... half-nerd-ish? I wear glasses, love books and like to braodcast my weirdness to the world, but nerdy? I'm not so sure.
Actually I'm not even an expert on the "nerd" subject. I'm just stating my view of the subject. OH GOSH!!!! I HEAR DISNEY THEME-SONG!!!! BROOOOOTHER!!!!!! DID YOU JUST START THE MOVIE WITHOUT ME?! AAAWWW COME ON!!!! *Grabs Frederic and rushes to watch movie.*
