(sorry, public schoolers!) What curriculums do you use??  For most everything, I use Sonlight (I'm on the year, ummm, I don't know what it's called....  The first book we read, though, was Mara, Daughter of the Nile) Curriculum.  For math, I use Math-U-See, and I'm on Algebra 1.  For grammar, I use Abeka, and I think I'm using book 7.  Maybe. :)  For science, I use Apologia (which has suddenly become fun, because my mom reads it out loud while I take notes, then we do the experiments, which is AMAZING, because my mom ruins just about every experiment she does. :):):) Hee hee....) and I'm on, ummmmmm....  I don't know which book... I'll tell you later! :) For Spanish, I use Rosetta Stone, and I'm still on Level 1, Unit 4... :):) I suppose I should work harder at that... :):):) And, ummmmmmmmmm....  What other subjects are there???? :):)

:):):) I know up to ten, excluding most of 6, 7, and 8.  For nine, I know a sort of cheat.  Let's say the problem is 9x4.  You lay out your fingers [I wish I could show you!] and find the fourth finger, starting from your thumb in your left hand.  Fold down the fourth finger, and then you'll see that you have three fingers before it [remember, 3].  Now, keeping your fourth finger held down, count the number on the right side, which is six [remember, 6].  So on the left, you have 3, and on the right, you have 6.  Put them together and you have 36.  It works for numbers 1-9.  Sorry, it's sort of hard to explain without being able to show you!!!! :):):)

I think I do mental math.  My mom asks me questions on math stuff.  I try to remember the multiplication tables.  I have some tricks for fives and nines.  I am not going to try to explain it cause there's some thing that only make sense to yourself.  i think that I am mostly unschooled;we don't have times and things, I've gone more then a week without doing math.

I use Bob Jones University for just about everything. I'm in Geometry after doing Algebra 1 and 2 and in my 3rd year of high school Spanish. I like the Bob Jones curriculum a lot - their physical science is pretty cool.

Singapore Math for math & science, and for history, literature, etc., Tapestry of Grace, which is like Sonlight (which we used to do - I've also read Mara, Daughter of the Nile and thought it was a great book). We have a co-op that meets in our house once a week, and the moms (aka teachers) lead classes. Twelve kids, four moms, one big fun mess. For music, I go to flute lessons and do a little theory on my own, and for P.E. I take ballet and do other stuff.

Cool! We both do Singapore Math!!! I'm assuming you mean the "My Friends Are Here!!!" science books? Thats what I use, and my mom gets it from the same thing as the Singapore math thing...............I do ballet too! But I play piano and clarinet,  it would be TOO creepy if we both did flute too............hehehehehe................

Jenjen....(in a "you're in trouble voice") Things are getting a little creepy betwixt the two of us--from the fact that we're both homeschooled, DWJ fanatics, Lindt chocolate lovers and now this: we both play the piano? *Hides under bed* Next thing you know I'm going to be heading down to TN to visit relatives we didn't know we had, or vice versa....

AAAAAAAH!!!!!!! Now this is getting REALLY CREEPY!!! Are you, like, my other self or something? Next you're going to say that you have dark brown hair and eyes and your favourite colour is blue and you're part Asian.............just kidding, but that would be SUPER creepy if you were all of that, too...........*hides under desk after shoving desk in closet under stairs*

Jenjen, I hate to tell you this, but my hair and eyes are dark brown and my favorite color is blue. The only thing different so far is that I'm not Asian!

What are you playing on the piano? When is your birthday? (I've got to find SOMETHING different!) My birthday is September 25th.
(You have a closet under the stairs, truthfully? Tell me: have you gotten an invitation to Hogwarts yet? ;) ) We're going to have to make a thread for chatterboxers who discover creepy similarities....
