I'm Back!

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

I'm Back!

I'm Back!

Hey, y'all! I missed being on here so much! I have almost no idea what has happened here in the last month (expect for some AE marriages??) I'm still not going to post much, but I haven't died or anything. Don't worry yourselves.

Has anyone else joined in the last month?

Any Hamilfans?

I'd also like anyone who is/was homeschooling highschool to elaborate on their experiences if they want to. I've almost convinced my parents. Not quote, though.

Yay!

And, school starts soon! I'm excited, but kind of sad because a whole comlicated business involving a teacher who "resigned" and complicated things happening. ANYWAY...

I'm also writing a ton, and working on plans for a company... and I'm working on coding and taking a couple college courses... I'm very, very busy.

No theatre, though.

SO what have you peeps been up to? Has anyone broken any major bones?

YYEESSS! You are back! I was dying, waiting for your return. *Takes a deep breath* Okay, calm down... calm down... I think I'm calmer now. Lemme think...

I've heard some Hamilton songs, and they are really great! I just don't have the time right now to listen to it more. So you can call me a Pre-Hamilfan. xD

Okay, homeschooling. I was for practically my entire life. I know the setup, the ropes, you can say. One, it is up to your parents on how they want to do this. They can go for looser, you pick what you do, kind of thing. This works, but it might be complicated for high school. Two, they can go for the average school-at-home experience. In my opinion, not top choice for younger grades, but for high school it works pro... I don't have time to write a huge post on how it works and the benefits.

Let me just say this: Homeschooled kids (no offense anyone) actually have the time to strive for their life goals, make things happen, and prepare properly for college. Just saying.

As for the AE marriages... They are supposed to be of Arwen and Zeon (love at first sight, you can say) and Mewfour and Quill. This last one is... rough. They do care about each other, but Quill is terrified. She has terrible mood swings and breaks down every day. She is more mature than Zeon but doesn't believe she is emotionally ready to get married. She might... she might back out, but she wants Mewfour's opinion on the marriage. It was actually planned because I was leaving, and it was supposed to be a farewell gift.

ANYWAYS, welcome back, S.E! You didn't miss much while you were gone. The biggest (and I am still crying) is that Maple/Stormrage is leaving...

And two AEs have died. Lyra and Tara... RIP.

Yay! You're back! I was looking for you after camp, and you had just disappeared.

My friends at camp loved Hamilton, and now I have listened to the whole 46 song soundtrack on Spotify in a row multiple times, and Hamilton is basically I listen to now. So, yes, I guess you could say that I'm a Hamilfan.

Right now I'm on a road trip that I'm coming back from on Thursday. I left for the trip on July 22. I've been to 5 National Parks and rafting twice. I hope that doesn't sound like I'm bragging.

I hope that you stay and can do stuff when you get on! I'm so glad you're back!

Top (Even though this isn't necessary).

Pathetic? No, that's so cool! Wow! You prob'ly shouldn't brag but fav you amaze and astonish!

I tried to count how many times I've listened to it, but I gave up and lost count a long time ago.

I've memorized all 46 songs (though I'm a little iffy on World Was Wide Enough) as well as Congratulations. Have you heard that yet?

What's your favorite song? I love Satisfied and Guns and Ships the most, and You'll Be Back will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Who's your favorite original cast? I love Renee and Daveed. Also Mulligan/Madison.

It's coming to Boston next year, so we'll get to see it then!!!!

Oh gosh that's a hard one. I can't pick two favorite songs

Cast member, I think I can do that. I love Lin of course (he's a flipping genius!!!), as well as DAVEED for his spectacular rapping, Renee because I just love the character Angelica, Pippa (Phillipa Soo) because she has a beautiful voice with beautiful crescendos and decrees censors and bravado...she puts so much emotion into her singing. Those are my faces, but Leslie, Anthony, O (Madison/Mulligan; I can't remember his entire first name so I call him O), and Chris are all really great as well. And don't forget the awesome ensemble!

Hello S.E.! Welcome back!

I am a graduated homeschool student now. I homeschooled all of high school, and basically my whole life aside from a couple grades in elementary school. Homeschooling through high school is actually not so hard as people make it out to be. It comes down to your dedication and amount of effort you're willing to put in. Homeschooling through high school actually does require more work than kids who are in school, though, so you have to be ready for that. The first thing to do is look at graduation requirements for your state. What subjects you need to cover, how high in levels of math and science you need to have down, and what the state looks for for passing each grade? Do you need to be evaluated? Do they require state standardized testing? Keep a careful portfolio and track record of all subjects you've taken, as well as extra curriular things. Maybe try to find a community of homeschoolers, it's easier to keep up and get info on what you need to do, as well as moral support, when you're have people who have done it before around.

Duel enrolling is also definitely a plus when homeschooling, because you have a government recognized institution acknowledging you have reached their standards.

Aside from that, as long as you're willing to put in the work needed, and achieve your best possible grades, it's really not so bad. I was really glad to have homeschooled through high school, I think it helped me in many ways, and allowed me to get the education I want that will prepare me for what I want to pursue in life, instead of following a set track.

I hope it works out for you, you're in my prayers!

Wait . . . COLLEGE courses? What's it like being a genius?

I am the last thing from a genius. College courses are just designed in a way that I'm wired to flourish at. It's more about how long I can focus on something than the difficulty.

I'm working on some math, business, and psych courses right now. I'm thinking of studying some engineering, but those courses usually require more time than I have.
