Oh. My. Gosh.

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Oh. My. Gosh.

Oh. My. Gosh.

It was amazing.  I just can't believe how well written it was.

(for those of you who don't know, which is probably all of you, I just saw Wicked)

TNÖ, you were right, Defying Gravity, oh my gosh, it was so wonderful.  That was a spectacular scene.

I'm soooooooooooooooooooo happy I went.  It was one of the best Musicals I've seen.  I want to go again, and again, and again, and again, and you get the picture.

The Sets!  Oh, they were so cool!!!!  Beautiful.  I loved the piece they used for the bridge, and then practically everything else.

And I loved the way Galinda acted, it was so funny!!!!!  I loved that part were she was singing Popular, and she was showing Elphaba how to toss her hair.  Oh it was hilarious!!!!  When I showed my mom how she did that, she thought it was really funny.  (she didn't go)

Oh, and there was an understudy for Glinda, but she did an amazing job.

And can I even begin to describe Elphaba?  SHE WAS SO GOOD!!!!!!!  She had an AMAZING voice.

I loved the end, but it was sad.

If you're wondering why I am not sounding more excited, it's because I already described how much I loved it SEVERAL TIMES, to  several people.  (and I'm sleepy.  I had to get up early to get to Bethany's house in time.  We had refreshments there, and then all drove and met at the Orpheum Theater, on Market Street.  {I rode with Bethany})

I was going to get a t-shirt, but I only had twenty dollars with me, and they were more than thirty.  But I wanted wither the one that was purple and said "I (heart with the 'Wicked' picture in it) Oz, Or the light green one that said "Wicked" and had swily things on it.  *pouts*

I could always buy one online, but it's not the same.  :(

Oh yes, and I must say:  Madame Morrible is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  What's-her-name-who-played-her did a good job, she had the perfect voice for it.

AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  IT WAS SO... WICKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*dances with joy*

Just go to the top thread.  You are being very naughty, thread.

LOL! I've found, though, that if you send a thread to the bottom, you can't turn right around and send it back up. It needs some time to relax at the end, and then if you give it a nice long break, it will move along if you ask nicely. I hope you don't think I'm making fun of you, Webmaster. I know it's not your fault that the new threads go to the bottom.

Oh, and Laura, I'm glad you liked the play.

I've seen Wicked 3 times, and am reading it at the moment. Wait, Laura, where is the Orpheum Theater? I saw it on B'way at the Gershwin.

I have 2 shirts, one that is gray and says "defy gravity" with a green e, and one my aunt gave me, which is green, with a hat, and swirly defy gravity written on it. ((did that make sense))

Ooh you LUCKY!!!!!

The Orpheum is in San Francisco on Market Street.

I also wanted to say, that it was so great, we had an understudy playing Glinda (did I say that already) and she was really good.  And she apparently did ad-libs, some of the funniest parts were ad-lib.  Like, when she and Elphaba are telling secrets, and Elphaba is reluctant, she goes "But that's not fair, I told you a really good one"  and she flings herself onto her bed, it was soooooo funny.

And the other one is right after "Popular" and she had just shown Elphaba what she looked like in a little mirror, Elphaba ran out of the room, and Glinda jumped up and looked at herself in the mirror and said "Oh, hello!"  You know, like she just loves herself.  AAAHHH!!!!  It was so funny!!!!  But the problem is, if I went back, which I probably won't, they wouldn't do that.  *frowns*  Oh well.

(Unless it was just a rumor that it was ad-lib... was it?)

If you can't tell, I'm still really excited.  :D  eeeeee!!!!!!!!!!

Where Elphie goes, "that was my mother's! that's all..." and Galinda's quiet for a moment, then hands it back and goes, "That's not fair. I told you a really good one!"? No, that's in the libretto (yes I own the libretto, shut up!) it's not an ad lib. I love that scene though:

Galinda: (in hysterics) Your very first party ever? Your very first party?! Oh I know! Let's tell each other something we've never told each other before! I'll go first. Fiyero and I are going to be married! (squeals)

Elphaba: (faintly) Really? He's asked you already?

Galinda: Oh he doesn't know yet.

and then

Elphaba: My father hates me.

(Galinda gasps, looking horrified)

Elphaba: Oh that's not the secret.

But yeah, I love the way Winnie Holzman (who wrote the book (the spoken part of the libretto)) and Stephen Schwartz managed to make Galinda completely shallow and bubbly, but at the same time give her these moments of depth and caring followed apparently at random by a snap back to shallow and bubbly, such as her horror at Elphie's statement and then, later, her reaction to the "secret":

Galinda: But that was the milkflowers, not you. That may be your secret, but that doesn't make it true. She- Oh look it's tomorrow!

Also I love the whole, "toss! toss!" thing. That still makes me giggle.

 Oh look I'm ranting. Sorry.

"Oh hello!" at the end of Popular, though, I don't think that's in the book.
