Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Let me take

Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to strawberry fields!

Or I could be coming to this thread!

So, I've seen a lot of talk (myself included) about people not knowing all the CBers around. And I realized a simple way to fix this. Yep, this is the official GET TO KNOW YOU CHAT THREAD!

Anyone can post here, from people who've been on the CB for years and years to those who joined a week ago. All are welcome, as I'd love to get to know as many of you as I can!

Here are the rules.

On your first post on this thread, start with a summary of yourself. Talk about anything! How old you are, if you play an instrument, how many siblings you have, what your favorite color is-- the possibilities are endless.

Every couple of days, I'll post a topic question. Then we respond to it with our answer, and discuss it, exchanging opinions and stories!

NUMBER ONE RULE: DO NOT DO ANYTHING THAT WOULD DISRESPECT ANOTHER PERSON. This is not a debate thread. If you disagree with what someone has said, state your opinion politely or inquire why they said what they did. If they don't want to talk about it, don't push them. This is a getting-to-know-you, not a find-every-fault-in-your-reasoning.

I'll kick it off!

As most of you know, I'm St.Owl. I'm twelve-- thirteen in March-- and in seventh grade. I live in NYC and I have a little brother who will most likely be eleven by the time this is posted. I also have the most adorable husky mix by the name of Bluebell who will have spent a full year with us come March. I play the piano and sing, and I've been promised violin lessons, hopefully to come soon. My favorite bands/artists are probably the Beatles, The Head and the Heart, Regina Spektor, The Punch Brothers, David Bowie, and Cory Chisel and the Wandering Sons. And, last but not least, I'm currently in my third year with the CB!

Here's our first question:

What did you do on Valentine's Day? Even if you just got a bunch of candy from your classmates or hung up some velvet hearts, tell me about it! Maybe you were lucky and spent time with that special someone, or perhaps you just got a lovely valentine from a good friend.

I'm rambling, so . . . type away!

Eh, I'm used to it. Yea I feel the same way! I'm very protective of my friends. I'm protective of people I don't know that well too :-P. Awe ok sorry to hear that. That's terrible.

Hey, Admins, why did you delete part of the post?

That's a topic considered not suitable for Chatterbox.

Oh my, I feel bad for you. I can't imagine what it must be like to be cyberbullied. Well, the CB is a safe place for you to come to talk about it, and we CBers will support you no matter what. :)

Hello, my name is Caroline. *everyone in a bored, drawn-out voice: "Hiiii Caroline."*. I am 15, soon to be 16 in April, and a sophomore in high school (did you know that sophomore means "wise fool" because sophomores think they know everything but they don't. Interesting, right?) I'm homeschooled, live in Georgia (I do not have any type of Southern accent, okay), am Catholic, and have three brothers- two older, one younger.

I like to draw, read, listen to Hamilton, think of bizarre situations that have a .0001 percent chance of happening, debate, and read Cricket and the CB. My favorite subjects in school probably are geography or drawing. I don't know if drawing counts, but oh well. I've been on the CB for probably 2 years now but went long stretches of time without posting or just sort of trolled around without posting... but now I post pretty regularly.

Unfortunately, I do not have any pets. We did use to have two bunnies named Floppy and Snickers, but then we found out my older brother was allergic and had to give them away... (sniff). We've had various fish over the years who have all met untimely deaths (except for Penelope. She was a tough one).

I really should be doing schoolwork right now, but with these types of things I like to... let's say... take a very wide view of life. Look at the long run. This isn't procrastinating, right?! Telling people on the CB about myself will be more beneficial in the long run than finding a source for my paper, right? Ok, this long-run perspective thing isn't even convincing me... yep, just procrastinating. :) All right, going now, promise. ;)

OK, I just had to post on here. My real name is Isaac, and I'm 12 years old, soon to be 13. I live in Georgia, and know Ice Wolf and Autumn Leaves personally. I used to live in England (four years!), but then we moved here. I can still do an OK British (and Scottish) accent, but I cannot do a southern one. I despise sweet tea and don't really like football. Down here, that's like being an alien prom Keplar 22-b (one of the only planets scientists have discovered that could actually support life). I also tend to ramble.

I like to read fiction books, draw when I'm supposed to be doing something active (but I don't avoid it ALL the time), play video games (STARDEW VALLEY AND UNCHARTED FOR THE WIN!), and post on Cricket while listening to music (it is currently Califonia by blink-182). As for school, I go to a private school (but I'm not rich), I'm a procrastinator, a forgetter, and a bit of an outcast. My grades are fine, for a procrastinating 6th grader. I also like to write fanfic. I sometimes yell out random stuff to see if anyone's still paying attention.

I have a dog named Kayla and a cat named Olive. We got Olive more recently, so Kayla hasn't exactly gotten used to her yet. So that's fun. actually she's chasing her RIGHT NOW! *sighs*. I TEND to OVERTUSE capital LETTERS.

I'm actually not supposed to be doing anything yet (we're outa school), so I'm free right now and probably forgetting my homework. Nuts.

I likes to compose poems, and I has one right now! (it's a Hiaku)

Your life is perfect

as life your could ever be

but then you wake up.

To answer the ORIGINAL question about Valentines Day, it kinda just happened. Nothing eventful occured, and I guess I got choclate. Not that I'm complaining or anything. We need approximately ZERO more drama at my school.

*kisses hand like in Hunger Games, but raises a vulcan peace sign.* Bye now! Live long & Prosper!

I'm Leeli, I'm 13 years old, and I live in a small town in Kentucky. I have a mom, a dad, and a little brother (who can be the annoyance of your dreams). I LOVE animals, more than nearly anything, dogs in particular. I'm homeschooled, and Christian, (and PROUD of it, too!) and I love exploring, hiking, and being outside. I live across the road from my grandparents, and next door to a farm. I love reading, and when I have a towering stack of unread library books beside my bed, just waiting to be read, it makes me happy. I also love writing, and I'm currently working on *calculates* 6 of my own novels (I most likely forgot one or two, don't judge. XD), 4 collaborative works, I've written lots of short stories and poems, and I'm getting new ideas every day! The only problem is, I'm really good at starting lot and lots of books, but not at finishing them. As soon as I start writing a book, I think of another book to start, and abandon the other, and so on. Sometimes I feel like I have so much creativity flowing, that I don't know what to do with it. XD I'm also an artist, and I love to draw, paint, color, and sketch. Crafting is also a hobby, and I sew and knit with a loom from time to time. I take ballet and jazz dance classes, and I also love to cook, baking especially. Now, to rant about my pets. ;-) I have a 13-14 year old yellow lab named Abi, who is very lazy, but not when it comes to food. I also have a 4 year old black lab named Bell, who is the opposite of Abi. She's rambunctious and very energetic, but sweet. I own da cutest wittle hamstew in da whole wide wowd, Thunderstreak Winterstorm Arrowshot, but Thunder for short. And also a parakeet named Winter, who I just got last Thursday! I also have a fish named Leif (pronounced LAfe) and seven chickens, Peep, Maple, Chicken Little II (yes, there was a first Chicken Little, who met a sad and unfortunate end.), Louise, Nancy, and Letty. Oh, and I have a lamb by the name Nutmeg, but he lives on the afore mentioned farm. Oh, and some River snails, which are cool to watch, but don't do much. XD ;-) That pretty much sums me up! As for what I did on Valentine's Day.... Well, it's an interesting story.

My mom, my dad, and my brother had to spend the night somewhere to go to a doctor for my brother's stomach, and they decided to do an endoscopy on him the next day, so my grandma and I drove to where they were staying, and we just happened to be beside Rupp Arena, so we went to a Kentucky Basketball game! It was really fun, and not as loud as we thought. So, yeah. XD not really hanging velvet hearts and making paper Valentines, but makes for a great story! XD Also, yay Elementgirl! Black labs rock! I have a sign in my room that says 'All you need is love..... And a Labrador Retriever.' XD
