The Kyngdom Project

The Kyngdom Project

I was thinking about how amazing Kyngdom is and how much it's shaped my life, and there has been a little bit of conversation surrounding it, but I wanted to let everyone know that I take the idea seriously. I say that the Kyngdom video game should be real and playable.

If anyone wants to join me and start planning this project, we can talk it over on this thread. Just jump in and discuss, don't worry about jobs yet!

sorry I wasn't on for a really long time...School and home has been really crazy. But I want to help on this!

So anyway, I think I can help a bit by building pixal sprites and exporting them. We could have the POV(Point of view) jump from main characeters in the KYNGDOM game. What I mean by this is that the game should be split into "Chapters" that each focus on a character.  You could switch characets to see what they did in each part of the story.

To build a RPG games, most game designers would start by building a timeline of events that happened in the world, so could anyone give a timeline?

I'm very familer with scratch, having built several animations.

Hello!

I was thinking the game could start with the choice of making your own charrie or playing one that already exists in Kyngdom, and if you choose the latter, you can pick one or let the game give you a random one.

Around half of the story hasn't been written yet, but I'll get to work on a timeline if everyone's okay with it. Are there any events or plot lines in particular you want?

I just realized I don't know half of what happened before the Underwater Ball thread, so the timeline will probably take a while. Reading through and summarizing archives of old RPs isn't the swiftest process. I expect it'll be worth it, though.

I think it should start with the person getting the letter from BIG. They should only be allowed to be human, since it's less work. They could accept or denie the letter, and join FaFa or BIG, and we could have a bunch of little things before we start the power of wing so that they could get used to FaFa and BIG, like in FaFa they can go on spy missions, and in BIG they can experiment on animals. Maybe they find an old book on the powers that triggers the start of the power of wing thing?

It should also be 2D, IDK Its easyer to look at and program. (In my opynion)

Hi!

I'm Trixie's brother. I'm totally new here! Trixie roped me in because I made a small 3D game and she thought I could help. I read most of this thread and some of the wiki, and that's it. I have little to no knowledge of the kyngdom storyline.

With that said, here are reasons why I can be useful: I'm working through a college-level software engineering textbook. I have been using blender, a 3D modelling software, for two years and I know one of the developers. I have made a game in Unity and I'm making another one next week. I've been a dungeon master for a Dungeons and Dragons campaign(basically I was an admin). I've been the lead programmer on my robotics team for 3 years.

So I think I can help.

@Kalaidascope Gryphon, 3D games don't have to be hard, nor do they have to be expensive. Unity is a good physics based game engine, and it's free. It does require a download, but you can bild the games to be played in browser, so we could build it and then post it to the wiki.

@Lynx, that's an excellent idea. Breaking down the story into a flowchart would make everything else go quicker and easier.

I conclusion, I think that as long we're organized and use good workflow, we could do it 3D. 3D isn't all that harder to create, and 2D is a lot harder to look good.

I won't be able to be on very often (once a week) but I'll do what I can to help.

It's nice to meet you all!

P.S. Claaws, you're a dragon, right? Google "Sintel blender movie." are you that kind of dragon?

I agree with Claaws, I think it should be 2D, but I think they should be able to have at least two basic choices: Animal or human. And then, if they choose human, maybe the SOCS could kidnap them later and expiriment on them if they're unlucky? That last part's just an idea I'm bouncing off you guys. We don't have to do it if you guys don't want to.

Maybe we could have that SOCS capture be a random occurence if you chose human? like how Gaster refences is a random occurence in undertale.

Actually, I'm amending what I said about 3D not being that much harder than 2D. People aren't that much harder, environments are a lot harder. You have to model everything in it, like chairs, tables, the stuff on the tables, etc.
Even so, as long as you can put up with some repetition in environment models it'll be okay.

I'm fine with either way. I don't know anything about computers, but I'll be here if anyone needs me to draw something or help with the story.

Maybe we can use Viola?'s sketches for character designs to put into the game. I mean, she's drawing everyone on the RP board. Everyone. Not to mention extra fashion designs, scenes from different RPs on Kyngdom, and ships.

I think Viola's art reminds me of concept art. SO GOOD!!!!

Anyways, here's a question. What are we looking for in characters?

Several people/animals/superhumans who were involved with all powers. is what I would go for

1. *blushes* Thank you!

2. I think the characters would be pretty much everyone and anyone. Those directly involved with the main quest could be the ones you choose from to play if we make it that kind of game, and there'll have to be lots of NPCs however we do it.

I think that whoever's playing the game shouldn't follow a certain character (say, if Ronan or Shadow was the main character. Both great choices to be the main character, but off of my point)'s path or abilities. For one, they should get to choose their abilities. As for magical power, their decisions could probably influence that.

What I'm personally looking for in a playable character is one that doesn't have a specific destiny laid out for them, a character that we create. Well, their destiny is laid out for them either way, but their choices can alter--uhh, nevermind. But playing an already created character (Ronan, Shadow, Nygrune, etc)  would be dangerous, because we have a specific idea of that character's personality in our heads.

So it wouldn't be like Undertale, where you play a premade character on one specific journey, but more like... I think Skyrim? Or Minecraft, but with different graphics and items. I think Adventure Quest is most like what we seem to be looking for, if anyone's heard of that. It's a free online game, possibly an MMORPG? I haven't played it in a while.
