Attention, video gamers!

So, who here, (besides Ashlee) plays video games?

I guess I'm not really a "gamer"--I play video games but I'm not like, geeky or anything about them. And I don't play an awful lot. (Mostly because my dad doesn't let me XD)

Okay. So, who here has heard of the game Ori and the Blind Forest?

Several weeks ago, it was a Friday night and I wanted to play a video game. My dad didn't want me to start a new Skyrim game because he said it would take me too long to make a character. (It's true, I'm nuts about making alter egos.) I started rummaging through our video games, and found a gift card thingy for a free download of this game called Ori and the Blind Forest. I think it came with my dad's Xbox One.

So, the good thing is that it was rated E! Most of my dad's games are Mature 17+. (I play them anyway.) We downloaded it and I started playing!

There was a ton of backstory at the beginning and it was kinda sad and depressing. But once I started playing, it was AWESOME! It's fun, not really creepy, challenging, and there's violence but it's fantasy violence. Mostly you just zap things with lightning.

But then, after I had made a ton of progress I got stuck in a place and I couldn't get out. I spent almost an hour trying different ways to escape but it was no use.

Sooooo, we had to reload the entire game. But since then, I've redone all the things I already did and progressed further! It's going really well. And I also "defeated" the place where I got stuck before.

Well, actually it was my dad because I was stuck in a different part of the game and the only way to get through it was to go in that place where I got stuck and retrieve something. So I spent a long time trying to get through it without going into the place where I got stuck--and, near tears, I went to my dad for help. Of course, he came up with a way to get through both places and did just that, and made a whole ton of progress.

Is this making any sense? XD I'm kind of just babbling now.

Okay, time for a short questionnaire.

1. What game (s) do you play?:

2. Is it a game where you get to make your own character, or are you given a character?:

3. How many hours do you play each week?:

4. When did you start playing the game (s)?:

5. What's it rated?:

6. What type of game is it? (Ex. Fantasy, adventure, umm...etc.):

Minecraft and Civ 100%! Although I haven't really sat down and played Minecraft nonstop in almost a year. I am not really into single player, I mainly play mods to the point that lag can get insane, but hey, it makes the game great. And I do a ton of Multiplayer servers like HiveMC and Hypixel. I was never really into the survival/creative aspect though, at least not once I discovered servers and mods.

Ok, so I'm going to preface this by saying that I haven't played 98/100 games I make jokes about/talk about. This is a natural by-product of loving video games, but not having a father/mother/Cockleburr who care about gaming at all, I didn't have access to any systems. Therefore I played a TON of flash games, and watched many hundreds of hours watching gaming-related videos online. (Lets plays, reviews, just people talking about them). So I know WAY too much stuff about games I haven't played. My current lifegoal is to convince my parents to let me buy a Playstation so I can finally get around to playing some games. Or maybe an Xbox so I can play more old games.

Anyway, that said, I love pretty much all games except for Real Time Strategy games (cause I'm awful at them) and I have to be pretty into the story to enjoy turn based combat, but those are pretty much my only two general caveats.

1. I'm currently playing Assassin's Creed 1, because my family FINALLY got a computur powerful enough to handle it.

2. You're given the second best assassin, Altair. Ezio for life!

3. Not too many, maybe 2-3, but I spend more than I can count doing video game related activities.

4. I started playing a couple months ago, but had the ending twist spoiled for me, so I'm progressing more slowly.

5. I have no clue, acatually. I looked it up and it's M. I have no problem with anything exept A, which I think has to be looked at on a case by case basis.

6. The way I play it? Kinda a cross RPG, platformer, action-adventure, but I love all games exept most RTS-is

Yay, another Ezio/Altair Fan! I love Ezio's character, as well as Altair (although I find it hilarious he can do everything but swim). Although Evie in Syndicate is awesome, too.

And it's awesome you are one of those people obsessed with gaming videos! My brother who is nearly five watches probably 14+ hours a day of gamers. I don't so much just because of time, but I used to be into all of those people. My other siblings love Youtube gamers as well. I mean, I watched probably 12 hours of the Halo World Championship in two days this year, and I could tell you every litte trick, tip, and map of Halo which I've never even played before xD

Fun fact about the whole Altair can't swim thing: In AC2, its kinda hinted at that the reason that he can't swim is because of a glitch in the original animus which Rebbeca fixed

That's awesome! I always thought it was because historically during that time period, their clothes were made of wool, therefore swimming they'd practically drown. But I love that hint within the game, I never caught it before!

No, I've never played it. I do know that the online video player stampylonghead named his cat Ori after that game though. :)

Anyways, I love most games.

1. Oh geez. Minecraft, The Legend of Zelda (almost all the games, although none are finished...x3), Skyrim (I'll be making a thread about this in a sec...I'm stuck)Overwatch: Origins, Mariokart, Severed, and oh so so many more! X3

2. It depends. X3

3. Oof. MC probably tops my list...I'd say about...12-15 hours a week? Maybe? Then Zelda...5-7 hours...Skyrim, 3..and Overwatch-10-14 hours, probably.

4. Oh dear. So. Minecraft, I started...when I was 10? 11? One or two years ago. Overwatch I started late last year, same with Skyrim. Zelda I've played since I was like...geez, my first game was Twilight Princess on the Wii.....I think I was 7? Maybe 8? I really can't remember.

5. Uh...Goooooogleeeee....Ok. Minecraft is rated E10+, Overwatch: Origins is rated T (even though it says blood, there is none, it's cartoony, and only one character has a cigar...I would say even Mature 9, 10 year olds could play it.), Zelda games are mostly rated E-E10+, with one or two T's, Skyrim is rated M but I still play it, and Mariokart is mostly rated E and Severed is rated T.

6. Wide, wide variety. Minecraft is a sandbox game, Overwatch is a first person shooter, Zelda games are....fantasy? Story driven? I don't even know. Skyrim I would say is most definitely a fantasy with aspects of sandbox, Mariokart is a racing game, and Severed is a...Story driven post apocalyptic fantasy? X3 Might need to look that one up.

Also, I'm going to add something to this questionaire...

7. What gaming devices do you use?

7. I use a...Android phone, iPad mini, Wii U, PS4, XBOX 360, Nintendo DSi, Nintendo 3ds and I really really really reeallllly want a Nintendo Switch! X3 x (

1. What game (s) do you play?: Minecraft, Rise of Nations, League of Legends. I play Animal Jam but only because one of my friends does.

2. Is it a game where you get to make your own character, or are you given a character?: Uhh I don't think this is applicable

3. How many hours do you play each week?:

4. When did you start playing the game (s)?: I started playing Minecraft years ago, RoN maybe a year or two ago, AJ last summer, LoL last fall.

5. What's it rated?: idk

6. What type of game is it? (Ex. Fantasy, adventure, umm...etc.): Sandbox... um... I'm not a serious gamer so i don't really know what to call the others...

1. What game (s) do you play?:

Kingdom Hearts (my all time favorite), Laura Croft/Tomb Raider, dabbled some in Final Fantasy.  I hung out with a friend while they played all the Uncharted games and I'm a huge fan of those.  I'm watching them currently play Ni No Kuni and I'm in the middle of Eternal Sonata, though I don't like the game play much.  I've done several racing type games, and I grew up on games like Crash Bandicoot and Frogger way back on the first Play Station.  I've also played a number of PC games, including the Nancy Drew mysteries.

2. Is it a game where you get to make your own character, or are you given a character?:

Mostly where you're given a character, I play few games that allow you to make your own.  I like pre-set plots, a storyline.  It's more interesting to me.

3. How many hours do you play each week?:

Well it used to be several hours a week but now it's dwindled.  I don't get much time nowadays between work, blogging, dance, volunteering, chores at home, and classes this summer.

4. When did you start playing the game (s)?:

Um, all my life? I'm the kid would sneak downstairs to watch my parents play Final Fantasy after I was sent to bed.  My dad is a huge nerd, takes me to cons and stuff, gets me psyched on epic cosplays and has me watch syfy shows with him. He started the video games before I was born and raised me on them. I've been playing computer and Play Station games since I was three or four years old. I just since picked up all the old games he left (like Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy) and heavily delved into those, then started formulating my own tastes in video gaming.

5. What's it rated?:

Oh gosh everything from rated for young children to rated M.

6. What type of game is it?

Mostly adventure, mystery, and fantasy games. I prefer roleplay games that have an evolving storyline to games that simply have a series of puzzles or tasks.

1. My favorite games are the two Harry Potter games for the Game Boy Color. They're basically set in the Potterverse, and play like a turn-based RPG.

2. You're given Harry at the beginning of both titles, and Ron and Hermione join your party occasionally in Chamber of Secrets.

3. Not much at all.

4. A little while back.

5. E.

6. Fantasy RPG.

Fdvx! (I'm looking for a sugar bowl. Has anyone seen one?)

Meet Sunny, by the way.

I don't play UPRISING much, mainly because I tried about 5 times, and I haven't won a match yet. Every time, I played Tracer or Torbjörn. Did you know that Dan Bull did an Overwatch Rap? It's actually not as bad as I thought it would be. I have a freind who can win almost anything as long as he's Reaper. Reaper has the CHEESIEST lines, though. Even worse than D. VA's. Case in point:

*Reaper goes to a fancy diner* I would like DEATH with a side of DEATH and extra DEATH on he DEATH. Hod the DEATH, extra DEATH sauce.

*D. VA goes to the same fancy diner* I eat to WIN! *eats food* D. VA: 1! Bad Food: 0!

Bastion has the best voice lines:

*Bastion goes to the SAME FANCY DINER* Doop-WOO! Wooo-WOOP Doo doo, boop DOOWOOP!

I could talk all day, so I think I will just start posting on the thread designed for this matter.

WAFFLE HO!
