Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Clothing

So, I am not a very fashionable person in general, or at least, I avoid being so. I think we all have our own unique styles, and how would it be to share and compare? That's what this is for! Share your style, write it in a story form, a list, whatever you wish. Then we can all compare how we dress, why we dress that way, and what makes us unique. So here is mine!

My Style:

- Black, always. No, I don't dress goth or emo, I just wear at least one article of black clothing at all times. Usually, that is in my T-shirts, but sometimes it will be my jeans. Now, I am not a huge fan of the color because it is quite depressing, yet it helps me blend into the crowd. I am also very self-conscious and so it helps take the attention away from me. I have a funny story about that, actually, when I didn't wear black for one day.

- Shark tooth necklace. Okay, okay, if you know Zeon, you know he is a surfer kid with a shark tooth necklace, right? Yeah, he is my role model with that. A lot of you know I cannot be in water anymore, yet I dream of surfing. Well, shark tooth necklaces are a bit of the ocean that I adore, which again links to my love of surfing and the beach. Zeon actually had his before I got mine, shockingly.

- Paracord and a survival watch. I might not be a prepper, but I am that "I am prepping for Voldemort's return or a zombie apocalypse without your knowing" kind of person. I ask for "survival gear" and I made my own paracord bracelet at school. I never take these off, even when sleeping, besides when showering and doing dishes. When I was able to be in water and swim, I used to even wear my watch because it was waterproof, regardless of getting water rashes.

- Wool socks and gloves in summer. Ahh, the bane of my existence. This is not at all my choice, but again, the whole medical thing decided to curse my life. Maybe it is a good thing? Everything happens for a reason, I suppose. And it really helps me relate to a friend of mine. But anyways, I have to wear wool socks and gloves until it is 70 Fahrenheit or warmer. Seriously. Now, do I always follow this? Uhh... No. But I really should.

- Seattle style. Maybe you know where Seattle is, maybe not. It is the biggest city in Washington with high style. They dress peculiar, I mean, socks and sandles, pockets like what hoodies have, yet on T-shirts. I grew up there, so I know all about it. Well, my grandma brings us shopping in Seattle every summer when we visit (we live in Washington, but nowhere near Seattle anymore). And so I still dress classy. French-styled shirts (at least, that is what I think of. They are almost like turtle necks, but really short sleeves, tight, and striped), Long sleeves with hoodie pockets on the front (but not hoodies), blouses, and the such. Yet, I don't think I've really found my style yet. I just wear what I am given. And the funny thing is? My pants rarely fit like shirts do. I am super tall, so they are usually a size too big to just fit the length. xD

I usually wear simple, colorful clothes, fashionable but comfortable. I love wearing old boots and vintage dresses and skirts.

Wow, that sounds so cool! Maybe you have met each other in real life without knowing. Imagine if you even knew someone quite well, maybe someone in your school is a CBer...

Wouldn't that be insane? O.o That would be weird because my friends would be all, "Oh, she's even weirder than I thought but we won't tell her anything!" I actually invited one of my friends to the CB, but he didn't take up the offer (I don't think...?) And knowing Crookshanks without actually knowing her would be absolutely epic!

Also, your style is fantastic! Simple, comfortable, yet fashionable. I am a fanatic for vintage clothing, so that is great.

Ashlee this was a great idea! I love reading everyone elses style. And OtR, I LOVE YOUR STYLE SO MUCH! Personally I most likely wouldnt wear it... BUT SEROSLY, KNEE HIGH SOCKS?? SO MUCH YESSSSS!

Anywho heres my style:

Tops: Mostly sweatshirts and tshirts. I have alot of tshirts that have prints on them that range to football, animals, superheros, snoopy, states, etc. My favorite shirt is red with the logo of Track Maven. (look it up) I also have A LOT of hoodies and sport jackets. I have a grey hoodie that has moose eating in a river that says Minisota. (I went to the MN state fair with my BFFs)

Bottoms: Skinny sweatpants and leggings. I only have one pare of jeans. Oh,oh,oh, and shorts! I love shorts.

Shoes: Blue Mickymouse sneekers and red and black basketball shoes. In the winter I wear black boots that look like Thorin's boots. (The Hobbit)

Other: I have many Fandom hats. I had a Perry the Platupus hat, Mickymouse, Lion King, Nationals, etc. (all of wich I have lost) :(

I have to say, hoodies and sports jackets are the way to go! When you say football, do you mean the American football, or what we call soccer? I also love basketball shoes (although I don't have any)! Fandom things are amazing too. I don't wear too many hats anymore, I used to but my dad scared me when I was younger saying my hair would go flat. Then it's just like, "eh, don't feel like wearing hats anymore" after I learned that was false. Well, I wore one of my hats like 24/7. But for fandom things, mainly socks and shirts in my case. So yeah, I really like your style!

Ok, my style: I really don't have one word to describe it. It's just comfy, I guess. Casual. I don't know.

Tops:

For school I wear nice-ish shirts, usually very soft and often (but not always) loose. I almost always wear color. I find that if I don't wear colors I get grumpy and feel more nervous and self conscious. I love color. My favorite shirt is covered in a bright peacock feather pattern, with purple, orange, yellow, teal, and blue. It's got an asymetrical hem and has three quarter length sleeves. When I'm at home or on the weekends I wear t-shirts from gymnastics meets. I generally keep my hair up on weekends, but at school I generally let it down in its natural, bouncy curls.

Bottoms:

Jeans. Jeans, jeans, jeans. I love my jeans. For school I have a pair of slim jeans and some looser, straight jeans. On weekends if it's cold I wear my old pair of jeans that I accidentally broke a hole in or my brother's old pair. When it's hot I wear basketball shorts or... my jeans with the cuffs rolled up. I have a bit of a jean thing.

Shoes:

I never wear shoes if I can help it, but if I must then I wear sandles if it's hot. Usually I wear sneakers. I can't wear most other shoes very much because I have really flat feet (along with an extra bone in each foot). I really want a pair of Converse, but they have absolutely no arch support.

Extras:

I have some friendship bracelets on that I never take off, even to shower or do bars (which is technically against the rules, but no one can see them with my grips on). They don't come off my wrists until they fall off. I also always wear a black macrame bracelet with a silver hamsa charm, as well as a purple rubber thing with Hebrew words.

Wow, it seems like we share a similar style! I am less for the colorful things, though, but in general, almost identical for the simple dressage - and the jeans xD

I am obsessed with jeans: boot cut, straight, a little tighter, a little bigger (although again, that's a height thing), and in the past, I wore skinny jeans. During summer I always roll up the cuffs and call them shorts, since I don't own any actual shorts that fit well besides white, jean-like material ones.

See, I am shocked so many people dislike shoes. I mean, I used to go barefoot all the time. I think I already mentioned this earlier, but now I don't because of the fear of bees on the ground, glass, and rocks. I mean, my skin - especially since I have to wear thick wool socks almost year around, even inside - is extremely sensitive, even standing on a regular wood floor. But I am a fan of sandals during summer, that's my thing. That, and tennis shoes - although I have to wear men's hiking shoes because my feet are too big. Well, the store said they were men's. But I compared them to my friend's shoes, and he wore like 11's, and they were way bigger. So I think the store was wrong :P

As for the bracelets, I used to make some all the time! I literally tied them on so they wouldn't fall off until they broke. Then I made the same string braided bracelets as chokers for my siblings, and they wore those for almost a year until they broke. Never took them off, not once.

So yeah, nice style, mine is quite similar!

Loose T shirt, Jeans or boys shorts, and barefoot. If I'm forced into shoes I usually wear sneakers. I can not stand clothing that's skin tight. I am very self conscious so I usually try to dress to fit in, so dark shorts or blue jeans and a dark/medium T shirt. I where my blue watch on my wrist, and other than that, no earrings(ever!), bracelets, nope!

So that's my "style"xD!
