Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Please pray. Hurricane Irma has been recorded as a Category 5 storm, the most dangerous and destructive type of hurricane. It's apparently one of the strongest storms ever recorded in the Atlantic, with winds reaching 185 mph. And it's about to slam into Puerto Rico.
It's too early to be sure whether the hurricane will hit the mainland US, but it could very easily hit Florida. I'm really scared because one of my best friends lives in Lauderdale, right in the path of the hurricane. I know that some CBers live in Florida, too. Stay safe. We're all praying for you.

@GreenMango, Yeah, that's what I was saying. And you might want to get a few supplies. It's better to be safe and sorry, no matter where you are in Florida.

@Everyone else, Hurricane Juan and Hurricane Katia are also coming, and they might hit both coasts of Florida. I'll continue praying for everyone, and thank you for all your prayers.

@Killim: Don't worry, we have some supplies. When we first moved to Florida, my dad got some basic hurricane supplies and we always keep a good stash of water and canned food just in case. It's just boarding up...

But Rick Scott has said that all public schools will be staying home on Friday and Monday to let us prepare for the storm and so schools can prepare (since most are hurricane centers). I'm so happy because this means I won't have to stay up late again to finish my work, but also disappointed because I like school and this means it is getting serious...

Though I don't see why North Florida has to do it since they won't be hit until a day afterwards.

My goodness, I've been reading about this... please stay safe, everyone! I've been worried sick about you all. Poor Puerto Rico... D: The fact that it breaks records is just absolutely insane. I hope everyone will be safe.

@GreenMango, oh, I am glad you guys at least have supplies! Yeah, smaller hurricanes probably seem pretty cool besides the destruction afterward. But this one... it's gonna hit Miami pretty bad, I think. Just stay safe, okay?

Update:

Like GreenMango said, we've been off school Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (Obviously Saturday and Sunday lol). My friends live in Southwest Florida, where they said it was going to hit the worst. I think they're all evacuated, but please pray for them. My best friends live there. Thanks guys. <3 And please continue to pray for everyone. ^^
