Chatterbox: Down to Earth

I never made

I never made a thread when I arrived at the Chatterbox, so I'm making this as sort of an extremely late introduction thread.

I am twelve years old and my birthday is April 23rd. I have blue eyes, wear glasses, have dark blond hair that doesn't quite reach my shoulders, and am fairly tall. I enjoy singing but am not very good at it. I enjoy dark chocolate and almost anything chocolate. I have 12 ducks named Bill, Annie, Mandy, Bonnie, Dotty, Dan, Rita, Lydia, Molly, Linda, Millie, and Zoe. And yes, Zoe-the-Chatterboxer, I did sort of name her after you. My family has three fish named Socks, Patches, and Kitty. I want a leopard gecko, but I know my parents would never get me one. I love horses and want riding lessons. My favorite horse books are Black Beauty and King of the Wind. My favorite non-horse books are probably the Ranger's Apprentice series.

Well, I did, but I'll do another one, because I have some time. :)

My name is Lena. I am eleven years old and I'll be twelve at the end of August. I'm homeschooled, shy (except online), and my dream is to be a bestselling author. I am very paranoid and have been known to use Lena's Big Book of Suspicious Behaviors at such times. Mostly I am friendly, but I've been known to snap. My favorite books change all the time, but are currently: anything by Wendy Mass; a bunch of miscellaneous, but no less good, novels; and the Harry Potter series. Probably I'll think of something the moment I post this though. LOL.

You crack me up, Lena. :)

I never made one either (because I was completely unaware of how to do so for my first few weeks), so, what the heck, I have way too much time on my hands now that school is out.

My name is Mary Elizabeth W., I go by Mary Liz, I post as Mary (I know that's confusing, so Mry is okay, just please not Mary Kate or Mary Ann or Mary Beth or Mary Katherine...). I'm 11.52 years old, and my birthday is January 6, 1998. I have brown hair a little below my shoulders and "hazel" (to use the general term) eyes. I know, right, how interesting is that. And I wear glasses... I love glasses. I like reading, writing, and fencing (which is basically swordfighting, for those who don't know). I'm going into sixth grade and just endured a dreadful fifth grade year that I have ranted about on the Inkwell if anyone really feels the need to read about it... (unlikely). As a miscellaneous bit of infornation, some adjectives that have been used to describe me are negative, too mature, annoying, overanalytical, obsessed, overly argumentative, too confrontational, oblivious, boring, and such. That from my fifth grade teacher.

And that's about it... not particularly interesting... hi to everyone else! :)

Well, being too mature and overanalytical aren't bad. Good, in fact, from my point of view. *inserts funny story* My brother is very analytical. When he was little my mom was trying to get him to go on a Ferris wheel, but he overthought the whole thing and wouldn't cause he thought at the top you went upside-down. :D Do work on toning down annoyingness and confrontationalnss, though. I haven't noticed either in you, but they are bad. I hope you have a better 6th grade year. I had a great 6th grade - I skipped it. :D

Hehee... I see you didn't put some of MY adjectives to describe you. Maybe because they're SO not true. :) Anyway, you're not horrible! I don't think you're overanalytical and oblivious and boring and stuff. Someone should write a POSITIVE list of adjectives for you. :)

I'm shy too, Lena.  Except when I'm on here. Maybe because i type and don't have people saying that they can't hear me.  Im REALLY shy.

Also, I forgot to put in my comment that I have been vegetarian ALL my life.  And that i've been UN-schooled all my life.  If I went to school for what I know then i would probably for math 4th-5th grade.  Other stuff, i don't really know.  I like reading so i know some history.  But dad doesn't tell me what to read and i don't know what to read.  he got a bunch of history books at the library and didn't tell me what to read.  So I didn't read any of them.  I don't know much.

I guess I should've added that I'm also

homeschooled and I have been since 6th

grade. And I'm kind of shy, too, but mainly

just with people I don't know well or haven't

seen in a long time. After I've been around

somebody for a while, though, I open up

really quickly, and they can't get me to

be quiet. XD

I noticed most of us wear glasses.  I have some, but I don't have to wear them constantly.

I wear glasses. And I don't know WHAT I'd do without them! My eyesight is so bad that without them, I can't read what you wrote.

Most likely i'll have glasses in the future. My mom AND dad bothhave VERY bad eyesight. When my dad was eight he had to wear special contacts. And my mom CAN'T wear contacs. And i read a lot so most likely i'll have glasses.

Yeah, me too. I have glasses but I usually

only wear them in the car, at the movies, and

at home. XD I don't like to wear them out unless

it's at church, LOL.

Glasses are awesome... and I'm guessing that most of us wear them because most of us are big readers, which can hurt your eyesight according to my eye doctor... who I'm still holding a grudge against because he dialated my pupils right when I was in the middle of EAP so I couldn't read for hours... aargh. :P

@ Lena- your adjectives are much nicer than my teacher's. ;)

I don't have glasses (yet!:) but my two next-younger siblings do. I sort of like the way I look with glasses, though...

Really? I used to NOT like the way I look with them! But now I like it more. :) Besides, I don't know what I'd do without glasses.

If I take off my glasses for some reason and someone says, "You look funny without your glasses," my standard response is, "You look funny without my glasses, too."

Ok, that was random. :D
