Chatterbox: Down to Earth

I never made

I never made a thread when I arrived at the Chatterbox, so I'm making this as sort of an extremely late introduction thread.

I am twelve years old and my birthday is April 23rd. I have blue eyes, wear glasses, have dark blond hair that doesn't quite reach my shoulders, and am fairly tall. I enjoy singing but am not very good at it. I enjoy dark chocolate and almost anything chocolate. I have 12 ducks named Bill, Annie, Mandy, Bonnie, Dotty, Dan, Rita, Lydia, Molly, Linda, Millie, and Zoe. And yes, Zoe-the-Chatterboxer, I did sort of name her after you. My family has three fish named Socks, Patches, and Kitty. I want a leopard gecko, but I know my parents would never get me one. I love horses and want riding lessons. My favorite horse books are Black Beauty and King of the Wind. My favorite non-horse books are probably the Ranger's Apprentice series.

I don't wear glasses.

My Mom always looks so strange without hers because he eyes are much smaller and she squints. :)

When my dad was a kid, he wore really big really ugly glasses, and it turns out they weren't even doing any good!! Now he has reading glasses though. 8)

I read constantly, and if I read for hours nonstop for days, I get kinda bleary eyed, and in a sort of dream state, so reluctantly stop for a day or two. I hope I never have to have glasses, because while they look awesome on some people, I look really stupid, especially because when I put on most glasses, my ears stick out. :)

Ha! I better not read too much today. I read the second Harry Potter on friday night and finished it yesterday, and it has left me a little bleary... DARN!!!!! It's so hard waiting to read the next one. The only reason I am is because I want them to stretch out over the summer... ARG!!!!!!

Ok. That's enough for now! Ta ta!

I'm very fortunate in that area, 'cause

I only need my glasses for far distance,

not reading. Don't worry Laura, I'm not

all that crazy about the way my glasses

look on me. ;D People say they look good

on me, but they kind of tilt sideways

sometimes (I'm very picky...). I'm beginning

to think my head is just crooked *is kidding*. ;D

I'm used to them now, though. But I'd still

probably prefer not having to wear wear them,

even though I only really wear them when I'm

at home or church. *shtugs* I might get contacts

instead someday. :\

My real name is Katie. I live in Texas and I turned 11 yesterday. I'm supposed to be going into 6th grade (no, I'm not homeschooled) but I'm going to try to take a test to see if I can skip it and go on to 7th. I love animals, am a vegan, and hope to be a biologist 1 day. Most of my classmates in 5th grade seemed to hate me, and made fun of me for various reasons, but I'm hoping that if I get into 7th grade I won't see many of those people anymore. I have hazel eyes, red glasses, and longish brown hair with gold highlights in it. I love to read (King of the Wind and Ranger's Apprentice are great) and like to write. My favourite colour is green. I have 1 dog (Sheena), 1 African Dwarf Frog (Shyanne - I know it's misspelled; long story), 1 gerbil (Zelda) and 1 fish (Joshua). My mom also has a fish (Cali).

How is "Shyanne" misspelled?

I think Cheyenne is the spelling of the city.

I got my glasses in the 1st grade. I read some then, but not much. My teacher kept making the class read books that were so boring ("The man is wearing a coat. The man in the coat walks. He is walking to work" - that kind of thing) that I wasn't very encouraged to read much until 2nd grade.

I didn't know there was a city... I don't know, I wrote something about her, and my mom said it was misspelled. Maybe she was wrong? I don't know *is confused*.
