Future jobs.

What do you guys want to be when  you grow up?? I want to work for NASA in the area of Astro-physics, or be a scientist for the human-genome project. And, of course, and author, but who doesn't?? I also sometimes fantasize about working for the circus :D:D:D as a clown or trapeze artist, or one of those ladies that dances on the backs of running horses :D:D:D Anyhoo, I was wondering what you guys want to do when you grow up.

As it will take too long to describe every job I've ever wanted, I shall only describe my current longings. I would like to be a biologist of some sort. I might also write a book here or there, but I'd mostly be a biologist.

Well, people seem to be going into full detail about everything they've ever wanted to be, so I suppose I will, too. :):)

When I was really little (maybe three?) I wanted to be a Christian rapper. XD That's really funny, now that I think about it...  I liked that idea, until I was about five, when I first met my cousin Jim who like to rap about his cousins ("Angry small Paige was in a bad rage and they locked her up in a metal cage [etc.]", and he also made a very gory one about how Arnold Schwarzennegger murdered my cousin...).

Then, when I was still about three or four, I got my first pack of Crazy Bones (cheap little plastic toys that you trade and stuff; Google it if you really care that much), and, in it, was the little chef toy.  And, like any three or four year old, I thought that, since it was my favorite toy, I should be a rapping chef. :)

A little bit later, I got my first pair of roller blades, so I decided to be a rapping, rollerskating chef.  And then I met Jim and decided that was a dumb idea. :):)

Between then and now, I've thought of possibly being artist (which, by the paint stained on my fingers right now, that's still a good idea), a veterinarian, an architect, a zoo owner (or manager or something), a zookeeper, a famous pianist (ahem, I would need to get over my stage fright), a movie-maker (I don't know what, particularly; maybe a director or camera person or something), a preschool owner, the president, and several other things.  Personally, I think a book editor would make the most sense (oh, that reminds me, I used to want to be the editor of the newpaper, too! :):))

In the future, maybe you shouldn't tell any of your ambitions to your cousin Jim. ;)

I used to want to be a baseball historian, but I've written ever since I could. In my first stories, my own name was misspelled. Apparently I thought my name was Leunea. :)

A lot of people seem to want to be mothers. I myself would prefer to just adopt children than have them myself. My reasons are:

1. Childbirth is supposed to be really painful

2. There are so many people in the world, I don't think it needs more (no offense to us or anything)

3. There are so many parentless children that since I want a child, I think it would be better to help them than just leave them and have my own

I definitely want to be a mother too, but I think I have a long way to go before I have to think about that.

Ha ha, yah, I think that goes for all of us. :)

Yes, good point, I myself have been considering adopting a child. But adopting someone still makes you a mother. Are you sure none of them meant adoption?

Also, apparently if all couples have only two children, it will keep the population at bay. :) :) :)

So, if someone is dead set on more than two, have two, and adopt the rest! :)

I used to want to be a marine biologist. Now I think I want to be an architect. Or maybe somebody who warks with animals... or kids.

Koffee: I will join you in the circus! You can do the trapeze and I will juggle!!!!

Ima: I've thought about adoption for the same reason as you but I'm not sure.. maybe when I get older I'll want to have my own baby... but for now I agree with you! I definately want a kid though!

Yesssss! Fellow circus performer!!! I can hang by my nostrils swinging us back and forth while you juggle, attatched to my feet!!

@ Ima: I agree with your reasons. Those are great reasons, and I will probably adopt a few myself. I just wanted to say, don't be offended that I want to have at least one of my own kids. Just imagine a life growing inside of you! That thought has always fascinated me, but I do agree with your views on adoption.

I want to be an author. but seeing as almost everyone here wants to be that i'll put down another idea. I'd also like to be a teacher librarian. My mom, aunt and Grandmother were all teachers. I like working with kids and books so i guess it would work out.

I agree with Koffee...I at least want to give birth to one kid of my own, but after that, I'm open to adoption or fostering. And I forgot to say earlier that I also want to be a librarian or children's books editor.

I'm definitely not offended. I can understand why one would want to have children of their own. And sadly, ever since I told my dad I wanted to just adopt children, he's been pressuring me to have at least one of my own, by birth... But I won't give in. By the time I'd want a child, I'd be a legal adult, and he won't be able to force me into childbirth. I don't even know why he cares so much - it's not like it's his child. If he wants birth-grandchildren, why can't my brother's wife give birth, instead of me? I don't understand... Oh well.
