The other day, my sibling and I were talking about Michael Shelley (a character in a podcast, but I made him into an NPC in our RPG), and how (within the game) you should never call him "Michael Shelley" because he would get angry. So my sibling comes up with ridiculous alternatives that sound very close but are not technically Michael Shelley.
for example: "Mightcall shell with an e"
I got confused, saying that shell already has an e? (admittedly i should have understood by that point)
BUT my sibling responds with "You know, like if shell could be spelled with an a or an e, except you put an e instead of an a"
That did NOT help my confusion, and my parent tried to help "You mean 'shall'?"
Sibling: No! Like if you put an a instead of where the e is, but then you put an e there where the a was.
Me: ?
So that was fun.
