Chatterbox: Down to Earth
OK, this is
OK, this is random, but I'm starting to worry that someday I'll run into one of you by accident and never know it. That would be tragic. So I vote that we Chatterboxers come up with some phrase that we incorporate into the first conversation we have with any person, so that we will never meet each other and not know it. I'm sorry, but I'm starting to get paranoid about it. :P Suggestions as to what this Chatterboxer phrase could be?

What about... My name is _____, and I like crickets? Unless you hate them (the insects). That wouldn't be fun. The thing is, I don't go asking about magazines to strangers. I'm too shy. And... I'm not going to go around calling myself a chatterbox/chatterboxaholic to strangers either. That's why I need to have something to say. Not that there are any other Chatterboxers in Texas (that I know of, anyway), but I was on vacation in Illinois recently.

Well, chances are, if you were in Maine, and you met somebuggy named Paige P------- (some of you know my last name, LOL), you'd probably figure out it was me, and then you could ask me about a magazine. Unless, of course, I wasn't in a shy mood, I'd go, "HI!!!!!! DO YOU GET CRICKET!!!", and I would really hope it was you. :):):)

Or how about something as simple as........... tugging on your ear when you say your name when you're introducing yourself! Like, "Hi, I'm *tugs ear* Jen! What's your name?"

We're back! Hi!
That's a good idea. I've often wondered the same thing, actually... I would agree with the name thing. Somehow I just can't see myself saying, "Hiya, I'm quite a CHATTERBOX." *heavy winking*
Joking. But yes, names seem best, or, in "code name" scenarios, do you get any magazines, that sort of thing.
I believe Koffee's name is Annika, yes?

Jenni, Mary W. and Grace!!! I haven't seen you guys in forever! WELCOME BACK FELLOW CHATTERBOXERS!!!!!!!!!! :)
(August 5, 2009 - 11:16 pm)
Yeah, welcome back! I'd seen Mary W around on Blab About Books, though. :)

Hi, R~D~! Jenni says hi, too.

I agree. So... if I run into a Mary W from New Jersey, I can say, 'Oh, that's funny - I know someone on this online forum with that name!' But I don't think I'd feel comfortable doing any, you know, exaggerated/code word stuff.

Hi, RD! :)
Yes, that's be an interesting situation, Lena, if we ever met. ;) I agree, though, I think I'd be a bit awkward using code words and stuff. Additionally, if it turned out to not be a Chatterboxer, it'd look, ah, a bit strange, yes?

Yeah, we'd make quite an impression...

Hey, Ima, you know the homeschool cruise thingy? That's going to be in Texas. If I see a Katie I'll be sure to say HI!!!
(August 6, 2009 - 8:05 pm)
Cool! Although it still might not be me, that's cool! Hm... what part of Texas? I live in a little town called Kingwood, but it's right next to Houston.
I think ear-tugging is a good idea! I'll do it!
(August 8, 2009 - 1:19 am)
I'm not quite sure what town, and I like the ear-tugging idea too.

Whenever I see a girl I don't know, I'll tug my ear. If she tugs her ear back, I'll know it's you and I'll say hello! If not, oh well.
(August 9, 2009 - 3:29 pm)
Ha, I would never notice a girl tugging her ear. So if it's somebuggy named Laura, just ask if they go on Chatterbox, ok?
