Is a jerkin a kind of sweater jacket thingy?

Hmmm, a pinafore, a jacket thingy for a girl? (I use the words "thingy" and "like" alot)

A Doublet, something that covers the chest and head? (please don't laugh!)

Smock, hmmmmmmmmmmm, A long plain dress, kind of like an apron?

Tunic, What people in movies always call a "dress"

A garter, some kind of metal thingy that you wear around you fore arms or shins in battle?

Bonus: A cape?

Ooh, I've read these all, and may have know them when I read them, but I'm only a little sure on some...

Jerkin- can't remember. I swear I knew it at one point, but you know me and my memory.

Pinafore- an apron that covers both the front and back of the dress, and usually ties at the sides.

Doublet- Uh, (I think) it's the thing in Ever After that Gustave steals from the guy to sneak into the ball to talk to da Vinci. The tunic-y thing. Right? No... I can't remember, but I know I knew at one point.

Smock- kinda like a pinafore, but different, often used to cover clothes when painting. :) Oh, wait, I think it's like a dress that covers all your clothes, it looks like a pinafore with sleeves, and no splits on the sides...

Tunic- long shirt. often worn with leggings.

Garter- a band that a woman wears (and a long time ago, sometimes men wore them too) on her thigh to hold up stockings.

Bonus: What do you call those things Prince Nausiating-sorry I mean Charming- wears on his shoulders?- pouffy things. Just kidding. Well, you know, there a billions of prince charmings out there, how am I supposed to know which one you mean? Oh, and I knew what those were too, but again, I forgot. Now I will read other people's posts and she how dreadfully I messed up. :)

I know it's cruel, but I'm very glad to see that for once I know more about this stuff than you guys.  It's nice.  A really pleasant change of scenery.  :P :P :P :P

That's pretty easy. Jerkin is practically a tunic, right? A pinafore is a dress thingy, a doublet is a vest whatchacallit, a smock is a thing a painter or potter wears to protect their clothes, a tunic is like a longer shirt, and a garter is a sort of scrunchie worn by females to hold up their socks. I don't know that last one, sorry. And these are all really quick definitions, not really thought through or explained well.
