Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Sooo, basically we can talk about how we found the Chatterbox here. I didn't really know what to do for the title hehe. Anyway, my story is a bit weird but here goes...

I have Cricket magazines from January 2015. Yeah, six years ago - I was six years old. I had never paid any attention to the URL at the bottom of the Letterbox. Soon after, I quit getting Cricket because it was a bit too grown-up for me, but I still get other magazines from Cricket Media. Well, in December 2020 I was looking through my old magazines and finally found the link. I checked it out and here I am. Has anybody else gotten magazines from around that time? Does anybody remember The Girl Who Writes the Future and Dragonfly's First Flight? I kinda miss those installment stories... I never did find out what happened to Fable Thatcher.

I've been getting the mag for like maybe 3 years now, (wow time flies), and I always read the Letterbox at the beginning, and it interested me, and here I am! I'm pretty sure I read something cool from Kyngdom and something else Agent Winter posted, and then I decided to check it out. Oh, and I remember I entered one of the creative contest things, and the rules were online, and then I jumped over here and got forever sucked in!

I always read the letterbox but didn't notice the URL. Then when covid started I started trying to find out if Cricket could host a live chat once a month and here I am!

This is really boring, but I've been getting Cricket since my 11th birthday. I read all of it, and after a few months I decided to go on the CB to see what it was like. I read a few posts, including one from Viola? saying that her cat died and she was really sad (the only one I remember, because my cat died just about then) and commented a few times as evening star, then dropped off until last January, when I joined again as PygmyOwl. I've been here since then!

I had gotten two Cricket magazines and was clueless as to what the Chatterbox was, but saw some of the things in the Letterbox area. I was really confused about it and at first I thought that people used the letterbox in the magazine to communicate, lol.

Hmm, it appears I'm very old these days. My oldest Muse magazine was from the end of 2012, though I didn't get Cricket until mid 2014 (I do have a 2011 issue that I uh, stole from the library by accident). I discovered the website when all the messages from Kyngdom started appearing in the magazine, but it was very busy and overwhelming so I quickly found my way over the the rest of the CB and stayed there. I used to go under a different named but for now I'm just checking in and skimming around. It's nice to see this new generation of CBers making this place their own!

I had been getting the magazine for a while, and I loved reading the letterbox because in the old magazines like Spider, the letters weren't as interesting. I saw some Chatterbox posts and they were fun to read, and I saw the url and read some things, posting here and there under different names. Then, if I remember correctly, about a month later, I remembered it and started posting under the name Lizardo The Great, which later was shortened to Lizardo. I was basically only active on Random Thoughts/Things but later I started checking different threads. The CB has become a huge part of me now, and I'm so glad I joined!
