Languages!

Learning languages is so cool! Right now I'm taking a Spanish class online, and a Duolingo course in Japanese. I know just a bit of Japanese right now but I have to admit I am just starting. I know how to say red in Japanese though: あか. I also know some greetings: おはよう, which means Good Morning and is pronounced Ohio (yes the state), こにちな, which means Hello. Yes, I am also learning Hirigana.

Do you like learning languages? If so, what languages do you like to learn?

I wanna say that Duolingo is the cheapest and most versatile way to learn a language, so if you think it'd be a good choice for you, go for it! However, if you have the money you should try to invest in a textbook or something like that, since they're much more informative, in my own experience. I bought Elementary Japanese and it's been infinitely helpful.

I'm learning French!

I was inspired to visit France after watching the American Girl movie: Grace Stirs Up Success XD I think I was eight or nine. So my mom said she would take me if I learned French. I was super excited to!

My mom used to check out Little Pim French DVDs from our library, which is for toddlers to learn languages, but it helped better than I thought it would! Then I did Duolingo for a while, and now I'm taking an online French class and a bit of Duolingo!

I like languages. My favorite one to learn is ASL, but currently I am learning Spanish.

(I hope there's not a snake in the house)

We're not posting languages other than English, because we don't have time to check translations. I'm sorry.

I am learning German. Guten Morgen means Good Morning. Brot mean Bread, Wasser means water, and Frauen means Women. I was learning japanese, but it got so complicated. I quit Japanese after i continously failed.

I just found this YouTube channel, Comprehensible Japanese!  It's pretty cool if you want to check it out.  The videos are completely in Japanese, and the native Japanese speaker creating it speaks slowly and uses simple grammar and words, and uses drawings to go along.  I can understand most of it, though some of the grammar and kanji I haven't learned yet.

Your message from two days ago never showed up for me, so I'm gonna assume that's because it's in a different language.  (If not, so sorry!)  The admins don't want us posting anything in other languages because they need to be able to know what we are saying.  (That's why my message from earlier just says "snakeYes, there is a snake in the house;" the Japanese was taken out.

Hi admins... do you think if someone posts something in a different language you could run it through Google Translate (just google something like "spanish to english") real quick?  I know it's really innacurate but it'll probably give you enough info and if it seems questionable just don't post it.  If that doesn't sound like a good idea I'm sorry you can just ignore this post

We don't post things in other languages since, as you noted, google translate can be quite innacurate and we can't take the time to check a proper translation. We do love hearing about all of the languages you are all learning! - Admin

Hi Kitty Cat!

This miiight be kind of annoying but I need help with something.  I know we can't actually talk in Japanese because there's no easy way of verifying what we're saying, but we can probably explain what we mean in English, like one of us could say something like bus, that one particle, to come or something.

Anyways!  If you wouldn't mind... can you explain how to use onomatopia in a sentence?
