@FerventWinter&Avara!

Since I didn't see anyone else start this thread, I though I would! What do you guys like to draw/read/write/craft?

Looking forward to this!

I don't know how I came up with Leotea! It sort of just popped into my head. Leotea is very quiet and likes the outdoors. She doesn't talk much, and is a very picky eater.

Wow! Those are really good! I can't draw, though.

Sorry I haven't replied for a really long time. I've been really busy with school and very inactive on the CB.

Firefly, what specific type of poetry do you like to write? I've been reading a book of student poetry called "Expressions" and there are a lot of different types of poetry. Usually when I write poetry, it always rhymes and the amount of syllables are even, but reading different types of poetry is making me want to try non-rhyming poetry. Do you have any tips for writing that kind-poetry? Also, I like your drawing and you did a really good job on the eye.

@Avara, Leotea sounds very nice. I'm trying to come up with my own AE still.

This is sort-of random, but have either of you read Shadow Weaver? I read it recently (and also borrowed the sequel) and really liked it.

Paige says <egnty> egg note? There aren't any eggs here.

It's ok, I've been bad about responding too...LOL I generally like to write freestyle, but I have experimented with other types as well! I NEVER write non rhyming poetry, so I have plenty of tips! Try to still have a good flow, make the words rhythmic and it's ok if the rhyme sometimes, just not all the time! Try to get a general sense of what you want to write about before hand because that can help you think of good poetry! Also looking up synonyms for words to be able to get a better rhythm without rhyming is super helpful!

And thanks about the drawing! I find facial details very difficult, so that means a lot!

Thanks a lot for the poetry tips! It's pretty much the same with rhyming poetry, except that I like to keep the number of syllables in each line the same and use a rhyming scheme so I rhyme at least every other line. I look up synomyns all the time just in case I need a softer sounding word. For example, the word "cut" is a very hard sound, but the word "snip" sounds softer.
