I have 12 Ancona (It's a rare breed) ducks.  Their names are Bill, Annie, Mandy, Bonnie, Dotty, Dan, Rita, Lydia, Millie, Molly, Zoe and Linda. I also have 10 fish, though they're technically my mom's. Two of them are platies. One is an overweight sunset wag platy named Miss Piggy, and the other is possibly a variatus platy, which basically means that they aren't as fat as regular platies. Her name is Ginger, and she's sort of red-brown with darker stripes. There's also four neon tetras and four glo-light tetras. I also occasionally have a fly or grasshopper named Squishy.

Wow!  That is sooo cool that you have that many pets!

P.S.  Miley is NOT named after Miley Cyrus

Could someone be a fan of the Millie-Molly-Mandy book(s)? Just that you have three ducks named that. :)

No, just a coincidence.

I recently discovered that the glo-light tetras have slightly different tail fins, so now that we (my mom and I- my dad and brother could care less about their tail fins) can tell them apart, we named them! My mom named two of them, and I named the other two. The ones I named are Hermione and Minerva. The ones my mom named are Fredd(y? i? I don't know) and Glenda. The neon tetras are all identical, as far as I can see.

One small hamster by the name of Lou. She rocks. And a rock. Its name is . . . all right, it doesn't have a name. But it is my pet rock. :D And it rocks. Literally.

Weeeell, *pulls out long list* we have seven cats: Fluff,

Rosie, Baby, Tigger, Little Mister, Sassy (who is actually a

boy cat. Long story behind that...), and Socks. My mom is

also trying to find a home for a cat that our former neighbor

dropped off, and we named Matilda. And there's a neighbor

cat that everyone sort of takes care of named Garfield (who

he would actually look like if he had a little meat on his

bones), but that doesn't really count... And we have four

dogs: D.J., Jake, Hershey, and Buddy. Err... and there are

these deer that my mom has fallen in love with that sort of

eat off of our garden at night (and sometimes in the day, too).

She's even named the mother deer Momma. *shakes head

in pity* Everything is a pet to my mom. ;D

Pets...  I have pets, but I don't see them as pets; I see them as brothers and sisters.  Well, there is Quinn, my dad named him Quinn after The Mighty Quinn in one of the songs he likes.  He looks like a rotweiler/doberman.   My dad thought he was going to be a tall, lean, doberman.  But he is short, and is kind of chubby-ish like.  We don't really know what else he has in him.  He is a mutt.  He used to be a stray, but now he has a nice, warm, comfortable home with a bunch of people to scratch his butt.

And there is Casadi (same name as Cassidy!), a fifteen-year-old dog.  I don't really know what kind of dog he is...  He has grey hair with some browninsh and black and white.  His muzzle is white.  He has really thick hair.  He is kind of deaf.  A lot.

And PJ.  We don't really know what PJ stands for, because we didn't name her.  i call her peej sometimes, and Mom calls her P-josie.  She's just a little younger than me.  She has gingery long hair with some dreads in them.  And she only has three legs because one had to be amputated because it was broken really bad.  Her former guardian didn't bring her to the vet right away.  He said that she got run over by a car, but my mom and dad think that he kicked her.  He wasn't really the one to bring her to the vet, my mom and dad were.

And Liger, a kitty cat.  A very large kitty cat.  Lion coloured with some faint stripes like a tiger.  That is why we named him Liger.  He is mostly an outside cat that comes inside to eat, get petted, and sleep.  Except he sleeps outside in the day in the sun.  He's so much of an outside cat that he smells like the woods in my backyard.  Liger is a tabby cat.   I first met him on my porch when he was a teenager cat that weighed a little less than he does now.  He was sleeping in my family's garden glove basket.  And then we gave him yogurt and he lived with us!  :D

Dawn Addie Squirrell Weirdo Telula Chipmunk Edwina Cutie Pie Sunshine Super Fun Night Rascal Bellatrix (my last name that you do not know here) is a kitten, Dawn, for short.  She is a little kitten with blackish-grey fur with sprinklings of white, a ferret face, and lynx ears.  She likes attacking stuff.  Someone dumped her at my grandma's house, and we took her in.  (We as in my family)  She likes it here.

And there is Rebah, a black short-haired dog that lives with my family for about five times per year.  Her family is taking a trip right now and we are watching her, like we do whenever they take a trip.  She knows where the food is, where the couches that she can lie on are, what to do if she has to be let outside into the dog yard to pee and poop.  She's going on a vacation, too!  A house with couchnes and beds that she can actually get on!  My mom calls her Beans.  She has an old-lady walk.  Waddle waddle waddle.  Clickety clackety claws.  She knows Quinn, Casadi, and PJ!  She is making that clickety clackety sound with her claws on the floor right now.

Now, I shall leave because I am tired and it's only nine thirty three.

Well.... here goes!  I sort of have a pet.  I raise guide dogs for the blind (organization is Guide Dogs for the Blind :).  My current dog's name is Lancer and he is a yellow lab.  He is ADORABLE and he's amazing when he's working.  He loves to play with his toys and he loves people.  If all three of my family members are sitting in one room, and one person leaves, he will be sure to follow them.  He is almost eleven months currently.  Did I mention he was adorable?  He has beautiful long legs and a blond nose.  He has these soft brown eyes that just stare up at you and say, "Will you be with me?"

The guide dog before that was Mina.  She is a beautiful black, chunky lab.  She had this really short muzzle and stocky figure and never grew into her skin.  She went back last June and now she's working in Arizona with her blind owner.  She goes to Starbucks and helps her blind owner teach yoga! :)  It's amazing.  Just two weeks ago, we got to say goodbye to Mina for the last time. She's so beautiful and grown up!!  *Sigh*

And the one before that's name was Derek.  We actually didn't raise him the whole time.  He is what's called a starter pup, which means we raise him until he's 16 weeks when he gets his final shots and is allowed to go ouside and work in jacket.  Some people can't be at home with a puppy because they have to work and are busy.  So they get a dog transfered to them when they're old enough to go outside and work.  Derek was a cute, yellow lab and though he was dominant in the beginning, we got it out of him, and he's now working in Las Vegas!!  How exciting!!  Unfortunately, we couldn't go to his graduation because I had a violin recital, but we got a DVD of him graduating and he's so sleek and beautiful. (The graduation is where the puppy raiser formally hands of the dog to it's new owner and everyone get's teary eyed and thanks everyone for their amazing work.) :)

It's quite an amazing process.  Sorry if I didn't make things clear.  Just ask me and I'll clarify.

Oh yes, did I forget the fish in the pond?  Oh I think I did.  We must replace them often because they get eaten by large, hungry birds. :(  I once saw a blue heron out there feasting on our goldfish.  Ah well.  It's nature.  I don't get too attached and certainly don't name them and that works.

Sorry that was a long rant....

I have a dog named Sheena. We don't know, but we think she's about 5 (we got her 2 years ago, and no 1 knew her age, and we couldn't decide whether she looked 2 or 4, so we said she was 3). We didn't name her, but we think she might have been named after Sheena Of The Jungle (the comic book character), because she likes to stalk things.
That's why we can't have many other pets, but I have a gerbil. Her name is Zelda.

We have some wild cats that live outside. One's name used to be Fu Fu, but he kinda outgrew his name. Another's name used to be Peony (long "e" and "o" sound) but we changed it to Petunia. Petunia had three kittens in the summer, I wanted to name one Arya, but my sister didn't want that name. So we named the black and white ones Remus and Teddy, the grey and white one we named Nymphadora. But Nymphadora is dead now. :( We had three fish once. They started out as science experiments, but the next day mine died. It didn't even have a name yet! A few months later my youngest sister's died, then a year later my other sister's died. It's name was Nibbles. She buried it next to our garden and planted marygolds around it.

My youngest sister wants a dog now! But I sure don't! Too stinky, noisy, etc.. And my other sister wants chickens and/or goats! But when I look at a chicken I first see the giant talons, then the sharp beaks! Goats wouldn't be too bad I guess, just as long as I don't have to take care of them and they don't "baa" all the time.

If you're scared of chickens' beaks, ducks have nice, rounded bills. They still scratch sometimes, though. A good, calm duck or chicken, however, won't bite or scratch.

Hmmmm pets.

I have a light brown, dark brown and white guinea pig named Acorn. She's very smart. i got her for my birthday this June.

Jib, he's no longer with us, but i couldn't leave him out. Jib, my younger brother, he had orange and white fur and four legs. I called him 'my protecter'. My mom found Jib in a ditch when I was 1 year old. Shall I tell you the story? hmmmm why not....

My mom and her friend were walking and they heard a mewing in a ditch. Looking down they saw 3 or 4 little kittens, about six weeks old. My mom's friend, an animal lover, jumped into the ditch and passed out the kittens to my mom. They could see a mama cat pacing on the other side of a small road. The first kitten that my mom took was a little black one. As soon as he was placed in her arms he hissed and spit! The second little kitten was orange and once my mom held it, it purred and rubbed against her face. My mom decided to take the little guy home.

Jib passed away this October from cancer. I'll always remember him as my best friend and the greatest cat ever. No one could ever replace him.

Now, on a lighter note, a month later, this day, we drove out and came home with a little kitten!!! I know that it is only a month after Jib left, but this little guy is so energetic. He is a black, brown and grey tabby. We haven't come up with a name for him yet though!! My guinea pig is most interested, sniffing him whenever he wanders close to her cage! :)

Pets are amazing things. They keep your secrets, comfort you in sadness, and will stay by you no matter what. Keep your friends closer, and your pets closer still.
