Okay, so Amethyst, I was homeschooled in grade 8, and I liked it a lot. For an introvert, it was so nice to be at home and not have to talk to anyone! Now I'm back to not-homeschool high school, but it's okay and I've made lots of friends. That's so sad that your guinea pig died :( I'm sure she was a wonderful pet. I've only ever had fish, and they all died too. I'm glad you're a fellow notebook-writer! Hard to find us these days! Random question: do you write with normal pencils, mechanical pencils, or pens? I only ever write with normal pencils, and the rest of the world seems to use mechanical pencils for some reason.

Poinsettia, I love horses!!! My favourite breed is probably the Morgan, because it's actually my irl name. Very different from my CB name :) I also like Standardbreds. A few blocks away from my house is a horse pasture, and from June to September-ish a group of Standardbred mares and foals live there! I make sure to say hi to them almost every day in the summer. They are so sweet, and I once got to feed them apples <33 I live in a somewhat rural Midwestern area, so there's lots of Quarter horses and palominos and breeds like that. Have you ridden horses? I've done it twice and once on a pony when I was younger, but otherwise not so much.

Also, clarifying question: you two know each other irl, right? If so, that's cool!

Yes, I think that homeschooling has worked for me in a lot of ways, but I would enjoy being in a proper school with other children sometimes :/ Oh well.

Aw, thanks! Yes, Cookie was a very sweet pet. Sorry about your fish, too :| I've heard that fish don't always do too well. And answering your random question, I generally use normal pencils too. Even though you have to keep sharpening them... I like the softer feel they have when you write with them, somehow.

Yup, Poinsettia and I know each other irl! We're sisters :) And I <3 <3 horses too, ofc! (I mean, how could anyone not like them?) My favorite breed would probably be the Arabian, because they're sooo pretty and spirited. Ha, there are some pastures close by here, too, where we sometimes get to see some horses. There was a foal there once, and he/she/whatever was very sweet :)

Hmm... is this thread going to top satisfactorily or not? I doubt it... Anyway, I'll post some more later!

Hi! That's awesome that you are sisters! I have four younger siblings, two brothers and two sisters, but none of them are on the CB.

Arabians are so beautiful! I once read a book that described them as the "monarchs (kings/queens) of the horse world!" Have you ever read King of the Wind? It's a novel by Marguerite Henry (if you haven't read her books, you should!) about an Arabian horse, and it's an amazing story.

I wish spring would come! Everything is very grey where I am, but the snow has started to melt. Is it warm where you are?

I write with normal pencils too!! :) At least, now and again I use a mechanical one, but I usually prefer wooden ones. I have like a million of them because in the school I went to for 1st and 2nd grade (I'm homeschooled now, but I used to go to public school), they insisted on giving us pencils and pencils and pencils...

I agree that Morgans and Standardbreds are wonderful! I got to ride a Morgan horse once, and he was gorgeous... one of the prettiest horses I've seen, I think. It must be lovely to live near a horse pasture *dreamy sigh* And a horse pasture with foals in it!! Wow. Do you know their names? Which horse there is your favorite?

I took a few riding lessons one year, and I've had pony rides at county fairs and so on, but like you, I haven't done it much. (We seem to have so much in common! :)))) )  I like riding them, but I'm kind of more comfortable on the ground, just patting them or feeding them. Do you think you'll do something related to horses for a career?

Yesss I've read King of the Wind! And practically every other Marguerite Henry book there is! I think her books are some of the nicest horse-themed ones I've read. There's actually a movie of King of the Wind which is very good - it's fairly true to the book, as I remember. And there's a movie of Misty of Chincoteague. It's fairly old, but quite good - just like watching the book come to life.

Where I am it's getting slightly warmer. Spring certainly seems to be coming! There are birds singing already. It's lovely to go outside in the afternoons and hear the mourning doves and the robins :) I hope spring comes soon in your area! :)

I'm glad you both like normal pencils! The only trouble is having to sharpen them so much!

That must have been amazing to ride a Morgan horse! I've never seen one in real life, just in pictures. Misty of Chincoteague is my favourite Marguerite Henry book. The ending always gives me shivers when Phantom goes back to the island. I have a Schleich horse that I named after her. Do you have any model/toy horses?

I've been watching the horses by me for 4ish years and identifying them based on their markings, but I only found out their names last year actually. The number of mares alternates year to year since they come from a larger farm and only stay in the pasture for the summer. They all have fancy pedigree names, but their nicknames are: Autumn, Nancy, Hannah, Rocky, AW, Polar Vortex, and World. All the mares are bay. My favourite is probably the newest mare, Hannah. She is a big, beautiful bay mare with a teardrop-shaped star and an off hind white sock. I think she's friends with Rocky because they are always grazing together. They both had fillies last year! I have a "horse journal" where I write about them all. Maybe if I get to it I'll post some entries this summer.

I used to want to be an equine veterinarian, but as much as I love horses, I don't really want to anymore. I'm a sophomore in high school (old, I know, but I'm young for my grade), so I need to start thinking about what to do for college. Looming decisions! I've always wanted to be an author, but I'm afraid my parents will say that's not a very dependable job :/ What about you? Any big life plans/aspirations?

Oh no, how has it been so long since I replied?? I'm so sorry! I'll try to be quicker next time.

I do have some model horses! They're miniature ones, mostly. I have about six, all with fancy names like Garnet and Zircon :) My favorite is a little bay stallion called Salinero; he was my first one... I used to play with him a whole lot, with the result that one of his ears got broken off! (Luckily, my mom was able to stick it back on with some glue.) Eventually I started just leaving him on his shelf, since he's so delicate. (In my bedroom there's a small white shelf hanging from the wall, which is where my sister and I keep our model horses.) Do you have any model horses besides the Phantom (nice name, btw!)?

Hannah must be gorgeous! I wish I could see her and the other horses in-person (or should I say in-horse?), but I can picture them really well from your description :)

Life plans... hmm. I could be quite happy being an author; I think that's the ideal career for nearly everyone on the CB! But yeah, it's not too dependable. The odds that I'll even succeed in being published are... not too favorable :/ And then, even if I did get published, it's hard to really make a living off of writing. I definitely still want to get my novels published, though. I'll just need to have something else for my main job, I guess. I haven't much idea what my main job could be... I'm kind of interested in screenwriting. It seems like a steadier job than freelance writing, but I'd still get to be creative in a really fun way. Heck, let's face it, I'm dying to be a screenwriter :) But if I decide not to, I'd like to do something that would help society in general, even if it's just on a small scale at first. It seems like there are a lot of problems, like climate change, that aren't being addressed effectively, and I really want to do something about it, though I'm not sure exactly how. I do know I don't want to go into an academic/research-oriented career; I kind of prefer action! How about you - what kind of future do you want (if you've decided yet)?

I've been realizing that Easter's almost here! Just a couple more weeks. Do you and your family celebrate it or do anything special on Easter?

Sorry, I've been off the CB for a couple days too.

I have two other model horses: Jojo, a piebald Gyspy Vanner stallion, and a black Percheron foal named star. Phantom is a brown and white pinto mare. They all live on my toy farm in our LEGO room.

@Poinsettia, being a screenwriter sounds amazing! I bet you could do it since you're such a good writer! Your picturings and things are always so well written. I'd just really like to be an author. I'm not sure what else. I'm currently applying for a circulation desk job at my library: fingers crossed that I'll get it!

I understand your "helping society in general" thing. I want so much to do something important that will make the world a better place, but I'm just not sure how to do it. *Sigh*

Easter is almost here now. I have Easter Break next Thursday, Friday, and the following Monday, which I've been looking forward to for some time! I'm a Christian, so my family does churchy things that week. We also always go to my grandparents' house for an Easter Egg hunt. Speaking of Easter Eggs, I unfortunately haven't managed to find any on the CB. Have you found any?

Bye for now!
