Weird.......

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Weird.......

Weird.......

Can anybody define what weird is? Is it different than crazy? Tongue out Is being weird bad? I think everybody is weird in one way or another. My definition of weird is if you do something that other people do not that may be a little quirky. And NO I think being weird is GREAT! LaughingCool

I think everyone's weird in their own way. I heard a quote once, I'm not sure where it was from..."The only fish that swim with the current are the dead ones." Is that relevent in any way? I'm not sure...I'm really tired.

When the live fish are swimming against the current, of course. When the fish all swim with the current, everyone swims with it.

I happen to wear glasses and am considered weird. I know what some people mean when they say "weird".

This is what my computer says:

formal: suggesting something supernatural; uncanny; the weird crying of a seal.

informal: strange, bizarre.

archaic: connected with fate.

I have been called weird many times, in a demeaning sense, for one thing or another. So I know the darker side of the word "weird" (play Imperial March from Star Wars). However, according to your definition, Zoe, "weird" is a weird word. I chiefly use it to mean strange and uncommonly happening, applying it to events that occur.

Weird is used in so many ways with so many meanings. "She's weird!" could be, "Wow, that's strange and interesting!" or "She's dorky" or "She's different," "She's acting crazy in the funny way".....so many different things. But with my friends, weird is a compliment, as we're all CRAZY! Tongue out
